Galkan Samurai
Galkan Samurai
Warriors from the Far East, masters to no one but themselves, and dedicated to the art of the bladed weapon known as the Katana.

The Samurai Job Class is unlocked after completing the quest Forge Your Destiny (Samurai Flag Quest).


Spells and Abilities

Job Abilities

Job Abilities are activated abilities unique to a specific job that enhance job performance in some way. This can include, but is not limited to, increasing armor or damage for a short time, initiating a special attack or triggering a party buff.

Shikikoyo 75 Merit 00:15:00 Instant Share TP above 100 with a party member.

Job Traits

Job Traits are passive abilities that are always active for your job. Job Traits often boost stats, increase mp regeneration, or add resistances to status effects.

Store TP I 10 Raises amount of TP gained.
Zanshin 20 May attack again immediately after missing a target.
Resist Blind II 25 Gives you a slight resistance against blindness.
Store TP II 30 Raises amount of TP gained.
Demon Killer 40 Occasionally causes intimidation in Demon type mobs.
Resist Blind III 45 Gives you a slight resistance against blindness.
Store TP III 50 Raises amount of TP gained.
Resist Blind IV 65 Gives you a slight resistance against blindness.
Store TP IV 70 Raises amount of TP gained.
Ikishoten 75 Merit Increases amount of TP gained with a Zanshin attack.
Overwhelm 75 Merit Grants an attack bonus to weapon skills performed face-to-face with an enemy.

Two-Hour Ability

Two-Hour Abilities are job-specific active abilities with a cool down timer of two hours. These are often incredibly powerful abilities, but often have adverse effects as well such as depleting an MP pool or dealing physical damage to the player.

Weapon Skills

Weapon skills are abilities that become available when a player has gained 100+ TP while damaging a mob with their weapon. All weapons, with the exception of Thrown and Instruments have their own set of weaponskills. Weaponskill availability is dependent on a players skill level with the weapon as well as the weapon itself.

Sub-job Combinations

Standard Combinations Include:
Warrior: (Commonly used for raw damage capability.)
Thief: (This subjob uses Sneak Attack to assure that your single hit weapon skill never misses. The critical strike from your weapon skill also caps your pDIF, delivering a powerful blow.)
Ranger: (Used to gain access to weapon skills, most notably Sidewinder. Generally paired with Soboro Sukehiro.)
Dragoon: (Used to generate instant TP through the means of "Jump" abilities.)

Merits

When you reach level 75 in any job you can begin to "Merit" that job along with attributes that will carry over to all your other jobs making it possible to make yourself even more versatile through new spells abilities and upgrades on other attributes, abilities, and spells

Meditate Recast Each upgrade to this ability reduces recast timer by 6 seconds.
Store TP Effect Each upgrade to this trait grants an additional 2 Store TP.
Third Eye Recast Each upgrade to this ability reduces recast timer by 2 seconds.
Warding Circle Recast Each upgrade to this ability reduces recast timer by 20 seconds.
Zanshin Attack Rate Each upgrade increases the attack rate by an additional 1%.
Group 2
Name Description
Blade Bash An attack that will stun the target and has a chance to cause Plague. Each additional upgrade reduces the recast timer by 2 minutes and 30 seconds.
Ikishoten This Job Trait will increase the amount of TP the Samurai gains when a Zanshin attack occurs. Each additional upgrade to this trait adds 3 TP to the effect.
Overwhelm When standing face-to-face with an enemy, Overwhelm grants a damage bonus to weapon skills. Each additional upgrade adds another 5% damage bonus.
Shikikoyo Allows you to share any TP over 100 with a party member, this has no effect if the Samurai is under 100 TP and will never take you below 100 TP when used. Each additional upgrade reduces the recast time by 2 minutes and 30 seconds.
