There's a theory that this could be how the goblin drink used to pop the mysterious Goblin Wolfman is obtained. At the 10,000 mark when he reaches level 1, maybe? But still, that doesn't explain to me how people could already have the parade gorget... 10,000 is going to take awhile even if done in a private group i'm sure some random people passing by would check on the NPC and notice the count to be unusually high. This is assuming it resets back to 0 after 10,000 or whatever the cap is, if one exists.

Would be cool to find out what happens when the NPC gets a full skill level regardless if that's how to obtain parade gorget or not. Go, go people, increase your server's count!

I've tried experimenting with this guy to see if he has any purpose besides food removal. He keeps track of the total number of times food has been removed per server, as "successes." He counts the number of times Gysahl Greens have been given to him without having a food effect as "failures." On my server, for example, the current tally is 860 successes and 26 failures.

I've tried trading in multiple stacks of one food, trading different individual foods, and foods from all categories. There seem to be no different results or responses.

He cannot remove a "drink" or "milk" effect, only an effect with the food icon. Trying with a drink such as Pear au Lait or Orange Juice counts as a failure.

He says he's sending a report to the Orastery, but there are no NPCs in Windurst who mention Parike-Poranke. I've given him food over 100 times with no different results.

For those who have too much time and money on their hands, you could always try "discovering" something more to this NPC. Like the Strange Apparatus, he may be more than he seems.

Try to get your server tally to 10000

Try to get the failure rate higher than the success rate

Or perhaps he's just a waste of an NPC.

Foods I've tried so far: 2 Leaf Mandragora Bud, 4 Leaf Mandragora Bud, Ginger Cookie, Apple Pie, Melon Pie, Gysahl Greens, Boiled Egg, Tortilla, Yagudo Cherry, La Theine Cabbage, Rarab Tail, Pamamas, Iron bread, Black bread, Meat Jerky, Kazham Pineapple, Sandorian Grape, Sandorian Carrot, Mithran Tomato, Saruta Orange, Faerie Apple, Pebble Soup, Meat Mithkabob, Pickled Herring.

The cheapest food is usually Rarab Tails for 200 gil per stack. Or you could find a stack of 99 cookies depending on the price.

Someday, his ultimate secret will be uncovered. Good luck.

They called me Mad, Mad! Well who's Mad now?!

After deciding I had nothing else to do for the night and no life to speak of, I invested in some more stacks of Gysahl Greens and set my goal to a nice round number: One thousand.

I set up a simple macro:

/targetnpc
/item "Gysahl Greens" <t>

every time I used a Rarab Tail.

The numbers increased, surely but steadily (if only levels progressed this fast! Or fishing...)

Closer, and closer still, the numbers reminded me of years long passed. 996. 997. 998. 999. 1000.

"Parike-Poranke's digestive magic skill rises 0.1 points."

What was this? The game actually responded to my foolish goal? Yes! My discovery was born.

It seems every 1000 times food is "flushed out" Parike-Poranke will gain digestive magic skill. What this does is unknown, it may be a simple joke like the "Airship Pilot Limit Break Level Up" gimmick in FFVII.

I'd like to see just what happens over the course of the server's lifetime as this guy gains skill. ; perhaps specific details will be given on food effects, or new recipes.

It will take a server effort to contribute to skilling this guy up. Since Rarab Tails are cheaply bought at the Windurst AH and found all over Sarutabaruta, the real cost is in the 70 gil per pop Gysahl Greens. My suggestion is that everyone contribute 100 "digestions" to the NPC. 100 x 70 = 7000. I'm sure most players have thrown away 7000 gil on lesser things.

If you can't stand the thought of clicking 100 times, then settle for 50 (3500g), or 25 (1750g). I don't suggest this if you're low on money, but if you're the type of person who'd spend money to complete a quest, experiment, or just for fun, then wasting some gil on this NPC might bring something worthwhile in the long run.

Yes, this is most likely a gil sink be SE. But it's the most interactive NPC I've seen in Jueno.

I can verify this is legit as well... The NPC on Ramuh was at like 960 when I went by, and since I had stacks and stacks of bbl chocolate that weren't selling...

He hit 1000 and got the .1 skillup. I kept at it until he reached 1004, so I don't know if it's every 1000 or every 100. But it is definitely skilling up on this.

Wonder what this will shake loose when it caps ^^

I also noted that the NPC says that he doesn't have much time left to get the report completed, anyone remember what it said when it first appeared?

The dialog from this guy is kinda funny. For another semi-amusing scene, trade him some gyshal greens while NOT under a food effect.
