Description

When the Galka were driven from their homeland in the Kuzotz region, they fled to Bastok by way of the Korroloka Tunnel. The tunnel travels deep beneath the sea and is filled with worms, crabs, pugils, spiders and numerous other monsters. Adventurers from Bastok can access the tunnel by traveling through the Zeruhn Mines.

Points of Interest

  • Adventurers at levels of 15 to 19 can party here for experience points.
  • The Morion Worm is spawned by trading an Iron Ore to the ??? at J-9 or J-8 on the first map, F-9 or F-10 on the second map, or I-8 or J-8 on the third map.
  • The ??? at F-9 on the fifth map spawns the Metallic Slime for the quest Blighted Gloom.
  • The ??? on the border of K-8 and L-9 spawns three Korroloka Leeches for the quest Ayame and Kaede, which unlocks the ninja job.
  • Summoners are known for doing astral burn parties in this zone.

today i soloed as a 19ranger 9nin here on the worms did hit and run and used apple lait's and chief kabobs i was able to get to chain #3 bye myself. I love this place so much better then qufim or valkrum. I was able to get half way into level 21 with no prob. If your a ranger pick up a couple stacks of beetle quivers and go to town it was alot of fun and i would say i gained way more exp an hour then i did in qufim or valkrum just my 2 cents

I went here with Mobius, my whm/blm taxi service in training. I went there at level 13 and left at after 3 hours at level 15. I woulda leveled more if there wasn't so much down time to regain my mp, and thats with eating some apple pie. If you go before level 15, take 2 blm. I was the only one, and was doing the most damage. The IT+ were the best choice to fight, but I'd still use all my mp and a little more after resting. Once you get a whm with Silence, things will be easier. Rasp is cast alot, as is Bind. 2 blm, 1 whm, a rng would be ideal. If you can get the "perfect" pt together, this place is great. Watch for the slimes though, oh, and the Giant Spiders. Good luck.

3000 gil. I bought the others from the map vendor in Rabao, but didn't pick up this one cause it's not a very hard zone to navigate through. Figured I'd save my gil for now.

Easy way to abuse this place, and make every other party here hate you- Foe Lullaby. Just keep on sleeping as many worms as you can find, even when your mages are low on mp. The worms can't come after you, so you can chain like crazy. As soon as you buff up your party on one, go look for another. Sub rng or bst for widescan and hear the curses echo throughout the zone! Doesnt work quite so neatly elsewhere, though.
Some More Info

Ack, I just signed up for the place and decided to share my knowlege on Korroloka with you. First off, it's completely possible to make it through the tunnel alive at lvl1. Just take the upper path. There's only one room with Pugs in it, and if you make it past them, you're fine. However, the lower, more direct path, has Pugs, Jellys, Gigas, and a whole bunch of nasty critters that will tear you apart.

As for what to party with here, a Ranger and/or Black Mage are a must. The ideal party is a Ranger, Black Mage, and White Mage. Have a Ranger with a Warrior sub, so he can do massive damage AND voke the worms; keeping all the aggro off of the Black Mage. Also, have the White Mage cast silence to stop Stone and Stonega, as well as Rasp. This will reduce a LOT of Damage. I came here with my THF and made it through pretty quickly, but when I came back with my Ranger at 14, I left that night at 21... A mere 4 1/2 hours later. Once you hit that, you can go after bats. Thing is, since bats aren't rooted to the ground, you'll need some Warriors and other tank/melee characters to help you our. Or, if you're a Ranger, you can solo worms 'til lvl25 or so, completely passing Qufim.

Actually, it is completely possible to solo them at 14... I did it. BUT you have to use the "Hit n' run" method, which means it'll take you nearly 10 minutes to kill one Mob. AND it waste a LOT of arrows. Also, as mentioned earlier, a lot of the people here are Japanese. So unless you can speak Japanese, or have a friend who can translate for you, it's really hard to communicate with your party. I suggest you find some same-level characters on your LS, or, if you have one, team up with your Static Party. Hope that helps some of you make it through here.

RE : Party in Korroloka

Not to be racist or anything, but, most parties in Korroloka Tunnel are Japanese parties, while most of the parties in Valkurm are North American parties (as to my experience). I am assuming this because people from Japan have had much more experience of this game and know that it is a good place to level here. While North American players go to Valkurm once for their subjob and completly ignore the Korroloka Tunnel until they party there, and find out how much better it is. (No trains, less deaths, etc.)

You need to register the Expasion Pack, Rise of Zilart in case to enter the Korroloka Tunnel. I had registered the expansion and could enter the area with level 1. The bridge directly behind the entrance is a great place to fish!

Party in Korroloka

Just went in last night and as a party of 6 (5 lv 15's and a lv 13) we were killing the land worms for up to 240 exp. There are 2 key things to do to prevent dying: 1) Have a WHM with silence and keep them casting it on the worm 2) make sure you only fight 1 all by itself, because 2 will link if they are close and destroy you. But you can always run if not bound. Once we figured this out we were rolling and after 3 hours in there I left 1000 exp short of level 18. Going back tonight!!!

chances are, no. Since the Lanw Worms in the tunnel start somewhere around lv 20. If you were in a great party, then maybe, just MAYBE you could do it, or if you havea shaddow mage.
Giant Clam
# May 07 2004 at 2:41 PM Rating: Decent
There are 2 Giant Clams one is at (K-6) the other is on the oposite side of the map. When clicked on they open their mouth and then slowly close it, maybe your supposed to trade something to it before the mouth closes. A pearl perhaps? Anyone with any information on this would be doing us all a favor.

Download a program called Fraps (can get it from Kazaa or Bittorrent) It can get fullscreen screencaps and record movies. Enjoy.
