Description

Mount Yuhtunga rises above the trees of Yhoator Jungle, but within the mighty volcano are numerous tunnels filled with goblins, bombs, dragons and more. The inner sanctum of this large mountain is known as Ifrit's Cauldron.

Adventurers can enter Ifrit's Cauldron from two places in Yhoator Jungle. Inside, adventurers can move through vents and caves, occasionally blocked by lava spouts and ledges. Paths circle around the fiery crater at the center of Mount Yuhtunga. Deep within the caves is a chamber holding a protocrystal said to house the mighty avatar of Ifrit.

How can i get here from Yhoator Jungle?
Actually...
# Feb 18 2004 at 9:17 PM Rating: Good
FYI it is not necessary to have SMN as your sub or main, you just need to have the tuning fork so you can fight and then win - when you go back to talk to the questgiver after completion you'll get the option of 10k, a ring, a belt or the ability to summon that avatar.
Flame Spouts

Anyone know what the deal is with these? I know they're used in a Kazham Quest but what triggers them? Is it simply timed? If so, how long does it take to toggle back and forth, I watched one for about a minute before chosing a different route.
#REDACTED, Posted: Feb 08 2004 at 8:23 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) I read all this and for one yes Ifrit is here. To get Ifrit you have to kill him you must have summoner as main job or sub job to get him so get your level 70 warrior/Summoner or whatever and get a group and kill him. I would go with a group of 2 WHM 1 BlM 2 Warrior and 1 Ninja.

Okidoki, to get Ifrit Quest took me 2 weeks of moderate gameplay in which i completed 45 quests for Windurst, 8 for Mhaura. I did bunch of repeats because the quests offered to me at that fame required 3-4 hours of my time.
Anyways, I got the quest once my fame level reached: People would have to be living inside a hole to not know of you.
All of the bards in the land are singing songs about your accomplishments.
The guy offering the quest for Ifrit is located at Khazam, name : Ronta-Onta
to check fame:
Windurst Waters (F-10) Zabirego-Hajigo
Kazham (I-11) Ney Hiparujah
Note: Windurst fame is grouped with Mhaura & Kazham fame
Note: Ifrit's Cauldron - Silent Oils and Prism Powders (magic sensitive) are needed to get by without battles.

my research tells me that i need a well structrued party of 60 or buncha 70's. Hope this is helpful.

Yes you do have to kill ifrit to get him as a summon... same goes for the rest of them... and also this zone is REALLY hard.. -_- ... and to make things even more fun.. you do have to have Incredable FAME in all 3 main cities to activate the quest for all of the summons
Adaman Ore?

Just curious if this place has fire weather in effect most of the time... would sure make it easier to finish summoner quest.

my party defeated him...and this was before the level cap went into effect. We almost died but we still beat him.

I have been here...Ifrit is in. However do not enter unless with a completely maxed party of 18 70/35...perhaps now it will be easier with the 70 cap taken off. Ifrit defies all possibilities of hard; I do not think any have defeated him yet. My party was close but no such luck. Take *extreme* care in here; do not solo unless you wish for a quick and painful death, and no not come in here at all unless you have your AF armor and have all level and skill capped.
#Anonymous, Posted: Dec 23 2003 at 11:00 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Why is it everyone seems to think you have to defeat Ifrit to be able to summon him? You don't.

you do in fact need to defeat Ifrit to be able to summon him! In fact once you defeat him, you get a choice to either be able to summon him, or get a sweet item, not available any other way.

The person stated you get a choice to summon him or to get a sweet item. By chance do you know what the item is?

Then how do u get That Avatar?
RE: About

I've never been there myself, but I do know that somehow it is possible to beat Ifrit. I rolled with a Japanese summoner who was lvl 15 and had 4 or 5 summons including Ifrit. If you can manage to get him (or any of them) he's pretty awesome.

I wonder if your friend took the quest as a Summoner, changed his job to one he had maxed out killed Ifrit, then went back and changed his job to Summoner again to get it? Would that work? Is that possible?
RE: About
# Feb 08 2004 at 5:38 PM Rating: Default
I don't believe so. I think in order to get a summon you have to have the Summoner as your main job not a sub. So no i don't think

you don't. when you've beaten the avatar, everyone in the party gets an item that they can trade for one of a few rewards. some weapons, 10k gil, and the summon are among the rewards.

Yes, Ifrit's Cauldron is battle ground for summoning Ifrit. But, This area is very dangerous.

I'm lv 70 bard. But I can't enter this area without sneak and invisible. Bombs, Wiverns, and Dragon... All monsters are active, link, and very strong...

From what I've heard, in order to fight a Summon Avatar, you'll need to receive a quest for that particular Avatar in one of the starting cities (and you apparently have to have a decent fame score to get the quest). Presumeably at that point they'll tell you which area the avatar is in.

And I would also hazard a guess that yes, Ifrit is in this area.
