Description

Located deep within the Pashhow Marshlands, far from the reach of Bastokan and San d'Orian forces, the Quadav began building their main stronghold after their defeat in the Great War. To continue the construction of their city, they have relentlessly stolen large quantities of the non-rusting mythril from Bastok, as well as the techniques used by the republican craftsmen.

Beadeaux is deadly a maze of mud, grass and caves. Only the most sturdy adventurers will survive the horde of Quadavs within.

I don't remember his name, but does anyone know what the goblin NPC is for in this zone, or the one in Davoi?? And does he have anything to do with the ones that sell the colored chips in town?
RAnk 3 - ? mission

for some Rank 3 mission, I have to kill 20 copper quadavs, could I do it here w/ my 29 THF alone?

I did this solo with my THF around lvl 30. I died about 4 times but there were plenty of high level Japanese players passing by that morning to lend a hand in raising me. A friend of mine also did this solo around lvl 30 as his WAR, dunno if he died at all though. My best advice would be to stay near zone, there are 3 or 4 Copper Quadav that spawn in the first clearing that you can kill and then zone to heal. Also, be careful of aggro from the terraces above. one of my deaths came from a Brass Quadav up there casting Banish II oon me and hitting me for 200+ while I was attempting to find a spot to rest.

Is this place any good for leveling? It seems like there is a wide range of mob levels, but if you stuck to the right areas, it could be ok (one would think).

Though if you're after a coffer key here, for your AF, it's definately a good idea to come exp here.

It's possible, but there are 2 problems specific to Beadeaux.

Camps are sparse. There are almost no areas of the zone that aren't crawling with Quadavs/pugils/aggresive sheep/elementals. So basically you'll have to scout a lot before you can begin pulling mobs in.

Beadeaux places much higher-level quads on the platforms just above the ditches where the lower-level quads live. So your pulls have to be especially vigilant not to link in this case.

If you must level against beastmen, Castle Oztroja is much better for it. Much larger zone, more places you can actually camp and yagudos drop wind crystals, which are far more valuable than the water crystals dropped by the mobs in Beadeaux. ^^

Anyone know the way to get to the above ground areas where the upper quadavs are. They run down the steps and back up again but I don't have that long of legs I guess. Do you have to go into the dungeon areas to get to the 'balcony' area of Beadeaux?

There is a stairway up in the furthest east portion of E-10. So the route to get there is to go to the point marked "A" on the map, go undeground and come out at the point marked "B", then head clockwise around the outside of the lower section there unitl you get to E-10. (or if you are high enough level that nothing is going to aggro you or you can easily solo while muted you can get muted and run past the Afflictors and then echo drop to cut the length of the route in half or so)

in M10 you have to go quite far into the inside of the dungeon. See the machines called "Muter" and "The Afflictor?"

The Afflictor casts a curse to anybody passing through that room who isn't silenced.

The Muter silences you.

To get to the NM needed for the Beadeaux part of M10 you need to have gotten through both afflictors to get through.

Where is the NM De' Vuu Headhunter. I'm looking for the Quadav Charm. I don't see it on the maps on this site. Anyone have a map ID?

I-9 to I-10. Outside of the gate at the beginning of that narrow path leading north. Surrounded by tier 4 quadavs (there are tier 5's if you head north), which you may want to kill off beforehand.

Even though the area is mostly above ground, it is still considered a dungeon. The rules for dungeons apply here...for instance, you can't take a chocobo through Beadeaux because it is a dungeon area.

it most likely spawns at a few different spots, from time to time, if the way it works in ranperre's and other dungeons is any indication...

The paper doesn't refer to the doors scattered around the place.

I believe the first line is a reference to how to solve a particular quest.

The second line is a pretty blatant hint that Quadav spot you via sound, and that anyone under the effects of Sneak will be completely ignored.

I've since figured out how to get deeper into Beadeaux, and it doesn't involve the doors. It involves going to an area that looks on the map like a dead end in the underground levels, but apparently leads back up instead. I still have no idea what the doors lead to, or why they're locked.

Doors, doors, lots and lots of doors...

Anyone know how to get the doors in this place open? It seems as if most of the area is inaccessible until you find a way to unlock the doors. We had a thief try to use Thieves Tools on the doors, but had no luck there. I have yet to see any keys drop from the Quadavs here.

That's roughly 2/3 of the area that you can't visit until the doors are opened up (which will presumeably grant access to the rest of it).

if you get the "Silver Bell" key item all the doors open for you... it is a M10 item

You can buy a map from Rex in Port Bastok. He's a child in a tent in the eastern area of Port Bastok.

This entrance is supposed to be in the SE corner of Pashhow Marshlands, per Copper Quadavs mission out of Bastok.

You also have to go here to complete the "Four Musketeers" mission (Bastok mission 3-1). That mission involves killing 20 copper quadavs.
