are you sure hes lvl 45-50 i fought a guardian crawler and a party pf lv 34 to 36 took him down ami crazy or am i right and it wasnt a worler crawler it was definitely a guardian sawa high lv solo it then left aggro party then we fight almost lost im a mnk and i 2 houred so did war i think

I watched a Japanese LV. 75 THF kill this thing in rhythm once every minute or so for over 3 hours last night. It was entertaining. I asked him why he was killing it and he said, "nm". lol

i wouldnt say this has a high silk rate. i killed 8 of em today and got 1 silk... rolanberry 881 every drop though which if you kill this guy once every 2 minutes on average.. you can make a good 20k on those alone. plus it does drop silk and crawler eggs.[Black][/Black]
Alright, I've done this. Every time you place a normal Rolanberry in the ???, it has a 1 in 3 chance of spawning the Guardian Crawler. Guardian drops a Rolanberry 881 every time, and has a decent drop rate of Silk and Eggs (atleast with TH1).
Rolanberry 881 has two purposes that I know. One is a repeatable quest in Selbina. A Galka there will pay 800 for each 881 berry. The second use is to spawn another NM deeper in, which drops a different, rarer Rolanberry. If you keep the chain of rolanberries going, you eventually get Royal Jelly, needed for a quest.
So what does this all mean? You can either do this for the quest, or to make gil. This isn't quick gil, but it's fairly consistent when you need to make a bit. You can make around 2-3 times what you spend, but it *will* takes HOURS. Don't do this if you want to get rich quick.

No, the royal jelly can be found on the Death Wasps in the entrance, so there's more to it than this. I would say that if you are a high enough level, and could solo the other two for the rarer Rolanberries, then you could make damn good money. However, since I don't know offhand how much each of the last two (or maybe three) dated berries are, I don't know.
However, doing this with a Paladin friend of mine will be a good fame booster/gil maker. Not to mention, my little Tarutaru mage self gains club and staff skills with every fight, and a little bit of EXP, so it's all good. I'll probably get him to go back down there sometime next week and we'll each take about 10 stacks of berries.

Supposedly if you put a regular Rolanberry in the bowl and kill the Guardian Crawler, you'll get a Rolanberry CE 847 needed for the Cid's Secret quest in Bastok.

It doesn't have a specific spawn rate, its a triggered event when you trade something to the ??? in the middle of the ball room. What that something is, I don't know. But it won't spawn without triggering it.
this thing spawns every 45 seconds... i was watching a lvl 55 rdm kill it over and over and over. so i asked "why are you killing it?" and he said "silk... get silk, get money." then i asked how many stacks he had and he said he was almost full, all i'm saying is that i'm going to hit lvl 50 and farm all night all day. getting silks every kill sounds fine by me

Silk Thread? Respawns ever minute? You can get rich from that alone.

High silk drop rate, they probably just want the silk so they can craft or sell it.

How do you get this nm to come out anyway? Which Rolanberry do you place into the bowl?!?
I see lotsa high-lvl people solo'ing this NM. Any reason why?
