The amount paid to change you allegiance depends on the current position of the country you want to move to.

  • 1st: 40,000 Gil
  • 2nd: 10,000 Gil
  • 3rd: 3000 - 4000 Gil
You will lose your rank, but keep your conquest points.

I cannot accept any changes right now". i read the fix in the above post with the windy mission but i cant find anyone to talk to , there is no current missions under my list, am i missing an NPC cutscene from the end of bastok magicite mission?

Blance of Power as of 03 Jul 05:

2. San d'Oria (Allegiance Change Fee = 12K)
3. Bastok (Allegiance Change Fee = 4K)
Quote:
  • Welcome to San d'Oria. Do you wish to change your allegiance from your current one to San d'Oria?
  • You can apply here to change your allegiance so San d'Oria.
  • We will have to seal away some of your memories as an international security measure. Those memories will be unsealed should you change your allegiance back to your former country.
  • Incidentally, if this is your first time changing your allegiance, you will have to start over from rank 1 in your new nation.
  • You rank in your former nation is still kept, so if you change your allegiance back you will return to your previous rank.
  • In addition, you will retain your current conquest points i]at your former city or cities[/i. However, your records of expeditionary forces and supplies quests will be destroyed. Oh, and you will also have to include 12,000 gil with your application.

  • Do you still wish to change your allegiance?

  • o YES.
  • I am obligated to ask you again: Are you sure you wish to go through with this?
  • Very well. I will accept your application for San d'Orian citizenship.
  • I will now cast a spell to seal some of your memories away.
  • May your decision be a wise one...
  • CUTSCENE: San d'Oria - New adventurer

  • o NO.
  • I know it isn't an easy decision to make. Please think it through before you decide.

  • Notes on changing your City Allegiance...
  • does not affect active quests in any city.
  • does not affect the status of Rise of Zilart & Chains of Promathia missions.
  • cannot be accomplished if you have a mission active in another city; ensure you have completed all aspects of a mission... i.e. all required cutscenes, spoke to all associated NPCs.
  • does not affect the key items obtained from rank missions of other cities (e.g. Airship Pass)
    - however, you must perform all missions to achieve Rank 10. (e.g. You must re-do the Jeuno Rank 4 "Magicite" missions.)
    - Rank 4 (Magicite) Missions: If you have achieved Rank 5 in another city, you will already have the required key items; simply proceed directly to the three magicite locations to obtain those required key items... very easy Rank 5 this time around. Additionally, because you already possess an Airship Pass, the Archduke will give you a 20K gil reward instead.
[li]will put your Conquest Points (CP) at zero if the city you change to is "new"; if you've had a previous allegiance with that city before, your previous CP will be restored.
  • erases Outpost Teleports each time you change; therefore, you must reaccomplish Supply Quests to regain the option to Outpost Teleport.
  • puts you back to Rank 1 (if you changed to a new city), so length of "Signet" is reduced to Rank 1; so if you were used to hours of Rank 10 Signet, make sure you buy a couple of "[city] Signet Staffs" to offset the time getting youself back up to Rank 5+; remember Signet is what allows you earn Conquest Points! (hate to be a lv60+ player and only have signet last an hour during XP party)

  • New City Cutscenes: You'll only get a cutscene once. Meaning, you won't have to see it again when switch city allegiances the next time around.
  • "OMG! Where's my Conquest Points! I switched allegiance and it says... "0 CP'!"
LOL... give the server few minutes to process the change, your CP is still there. ^^

Just wanted to clarify this, as it could be contusing:

Rank and CP for a nation are like Level and XP for a job.

If you get to Level 5 WHM and have 500 XP into your level, then change to WAR, which you've never used, you'll be a Level 1 WAR with 0 XP. Should you decide to change back to WHM, you will again be a Level 5 WHM with 500 XP into level.

Now just replace "Level" with "Rank", "XP" with "CP" and the jobs with nations and it works exactly the same way. (Although you do have to pay gil every time you switch)
    outpost warp = gone

I've just switched back to San d'Oria after getting a few ranks in Bastok. I talked to the outpost warp guy and he said there was nowhere I could get warped to, even though I had done several delivery quests before (I was lv 40 at the time too).

So, it seems when you change allegiance to a nation you belonged to before, you don't get back the outpost warps you had done for them.
    Can't switch :( Please Help

I'm trying to go from Windy to Sandy but the NPC keeps saying "it looks like your home country is in trouble. I cannot accept any changes right now". I've been scowering the forums/net but to no avail.

Right now Windy is in first and sandy is last but no dice. Also, I understand you can't have any missions out but I've gotten all my windy missions done (currently rank 5) with none open. The only "mission" that is open is the zilart-Norg one which I don't believe effects this. I also completed all the Windy quests that were open just in case.

I've been trying to find a solution and don't want to call a GM :/ If anyone can help me I'd very much appreciate it.

    ---
    edit:

Problem turned out to be that at the end of Mission 5 from Windy, after it is "completed" there is a small cutseen that you still have to do with the star sybil :/

This usually happens after you finish the rank 5 quest, but haven't reported back to your home nation to find out about the break in. You will be given the option to go on the next mession or "Thing about it". If you choose the second option you will be able to change to a new nation.
    Update?

All of the allegiance NPCs need updating, it seems.

Here's what we all seem to know:

    • The cost to change is dependant on your new nation's current Conquest position.: 1:40k, 2:10k, 3:4k. I'd assume that if two nations are joint first/second, then both would cost 40k/10k. Unsure though.

    • Your old nation retains your CP (so switching back reclaims them).

    • Your old nation retains your Rank.

    • You seem to keep Key Items such as airship passes when you change allegiance.

    • You cannot switch nation if you are currently on a mission for your old nation.

    Here's what is uncertain:

    • If you switch nation, you lose Outpost Warps. But does your old nation retain them?

    • If you are on Zilart/Promathia missions, does changing allegiance affect this in any way?

I just changed my allegiance and have some information to share.

    1) I switched from Windy to Bastok and since Bastok was first in the rankings at the time, I was charged 40k gil.

    2) You keep your rank in your old country, so when/if you switch back, you don't have to do the work again.

    3) You keep ALL key items and such, so the missions are insanely easier. Also, as a side note, I kept my airship pass and got to ride on the Bastok-Jueno Airship as a rank 2 ^^

    4) You DO NOT get to keep your conquest points.

If you switch back to a country you had high rank in, do you get that rank back?
Seems to be based on country's conquest rank...
    # Feb 10 2004 at 11:18 AM Rating: Default
It seems the price changes based on what the current rank is of the country overall - I was going to switch from Sandy to Bastok, but bastok was currently in 1st place, so it was a 40k fee. The following week, Bastok was in 3rd place, and the fee was only 4k. I'm guessing 10k is the "Change to the 2nd place country" fee but it's good to know if you're short on cash that you can just wait it out a week, and maybe end up with better luck.
    Not always 10k...
    # Jan 30 2004 at 9:47 PM Rating: Decent
It's 40k to switch from bastok to sany at Rank 1, sandy is in first...
