Vana'diel Bestiary: Jaggedy-Eared Jack  

I heard about Jack from my husband who was running around west ron. and stoped to rest Jack poped right next to him so he voked him and killed him AND got the drop. It was his first time ever seeing or killing him. So I thought ok I can kill him too I have killed that F$#^ing RABBIT 48 times and no drop. >.< I hate that little bunny. But yet I still look for him from time to time. /sigh

I've had mine for almost a year now...and Phraust, yep its the original, like I said when I got it...I won't sell it ever til I leave the game and at that point I will just give it away.(no time soon)

I was doing quest for sandy and on way back it spawnd next to me got it with holy no drop but going to kill shive prime :)

none of u guyz is gonna buy this, but i was making a joke to my girlfriend (she plays as well) that i was gonna go lvl my great axe/sword/archery skill (im a 20 war/10mnk) where he spawns to see if i can snag him. the little ******* runs right by me :Pi shoot an arrow into his hoppity little butt, slap him around with my great axe and snag the drop! first nm i even jokingly camped and i got the drop, they should add Wickers to its list of weaknesses ^^.

how often does he spawn???

Also, as i have heard from other mmorpgs. THere is a loot table in place most of the time. So its possible that killing too fast will offset the table. I am speaking out of my *** but you never know with these things.

Also Not everyone who camps NM's are evil people. THey are there for the same reason you are. I remember, (mind you its only a game) but you could feel the tension and someone cutting you an eye for camping too. THen after a while you start to excahnge stories, cheer each other on when the competition gets the kill. (you hope they die inside)but you generally feel their anguish, pain and anxiety and it also means one less camper if they get it.

Help out your fellow campers if you are running by the area, kill some hares to help the process along.

Well, I woke up today and figured I might as well work on getting me one of them thar purty Rabbit Charms. After some long, boring travel from Windy to Sandy (no teleporters lately in Windy it seems like, doh), I set up camp in the desired spawn zone for that crazy bunny Jack.

Well... an hour passes, killing bunnies as they pop up on widescan. Then another hour... and some other campers start to show up. I get bored pretty easily during NM hunts, so I struck up a conversation with a lvl 10 thf / mnk who was looking for the charm for his character.

So we kill bunnies and chat to pass the time for another hour or so. Getting kinda desperate at this point and worrying that I had missed the pop on widescan cause of all the chatting. But then, there it was, I caught it out of the corner of my eye on the widescan list (at that point I was scrolling pretty fast cause I was tired of doing it). Jack! I flee'ed over to him and use my npc steal macro. Laughed to myself as I stole a sandy carrot and began to prepare myself for the disappointment of not getting a drop.

I give ol' Jack a number of sturdy blows to the cranium... kill him... and got the drop!! Man, the hours of widescanning paid off. I was really pumped and thankful, so I gave the 10 thf / mnk 10k in gil since without him Jack wouldn't have spawned when he did. I then stuck around for another hour ptying with him to get another, but alas, he had to boogie and we didn't get one (thank you again Faile!!).

So that's my story on Jack, after the disappointments I've had on camping the emp and lizzie, it was awesome to finally snag the nm AND get the drop. Oh, and I am keeping the Charm. Need its helping stealing while farming to recuperate from ninja expenses. :p

ok on siren i checked the price history and the highest was only 10k.. a bnch of people sold it to them selves for 1 gil to make it look like its not worth anything.... so should i even try to get it? im in sandy by the way....i cant really get to other cities yet so i dont know if it sells good other places.... if your on siren send a /t to Kahli

Everyone I highly suggest TH2 or just not hunt this thing its drop rate is so low i would say its not worth it without TH2. BUT this is just a suggestion camp him all you like im just saying farming would probably be a better idea.

The first time I've ever seen it was when I was a level 9 WAR and I was healing from an earlier battle. I saw it stroll by but decided not to attack it since it's strength was impossible to guage. Also I didnt even know what NM's were at the time. Decided to camp Jack for the first time today with my THF16/RNG7. I waited about an hour before it popped up on my scan. When I got to the scene, it was already claimed, so i headed back to sandy. I used the same strategy I use when I camp LL, which is return about 50 minutes after the last sighting. About 50 minutes later, I headed back to the outpost area. About 15 minutes later it popped on my scan, and I ran to it as fast as I could. It put up a fight, but I eventually killed it. Unfortunatly, I didnt get the drop. I wasnt surprised, since Ive read about how bad the drop rate for this guy is. I plan on camping this rabbit till I get his stupid charm :)
