Then after about thirty seconds of battle (I won). Do you know what the little pointy eared MFer dropped. NOTHING!!!! GGGGGGGRRRRRRRRRRAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH. Wait he did drop one thing "JACK SH*T". I will get revenge on you Jack. Mark my words. WAHAHAHAHA

does anyone know when it spawns?
the exact time it spawns varies, but it's known he will NOT spawn in less than an hour. Some speculate that after an hour passes from the last time he was killed his lottery system starts. So, the more hares you kill after an hour, the faster you can supposedly get him to spawn. This didn't really work for me as I would stay ontop of every forest hare around and still he'd spawn between an hour to sometimes as long as 3 hours, I had a friend using wide-scan so we rueld out the possibility that he spawned and we didn't see him.

I HATE THIS RABBIT! i just ran around for 3 hours and haven't even seen it! Grrr! When i find it I am going to make it slowly bleed to death then steal its soul.
I got to fight one yesterday afternoon - it was on the road in G9 just hopping around. I quickly provoked it and killed it - and no drop :(

Well, maybe I just got lucky.
Since me(DRG39) and a THF32 went out hunting for this baby. After about 10min he spawned. Since we were all alone at the spot we took him on. One hit brought him down. We got a rabbit hide and the Charm! On the first try!
Sold it for 400k, loved it^^

You guys like to complain alot. Some of you dont thats good but for those who do pls shutup. Nobody wants to hear "I've been camping for 2 hours!" or "I've been camping for a week!". Shutup and be patient your time will come kill anything you see in the area it makes a good little profit whiners.

Me and a ranger friend were down there trying to camp this rabbit in hopes of dropping the charm for my thf (lvl 9) and gave up after 2 hours or so, because it was late at night and I was very tired.

I just found one and killed it tonight with my lvl 9 monk and it dropped... nothing. Heh. I didn't know what it was and when I checked, it said "Jaggedy-Eared Jack's strength is impossible to gauge!" but i fought him anyway and he almost killed me. but yeah, he was just there, and that was the only one I've seen.

I was translating some japanese sites and i found some NM pages. This is the crappy translation of what the japanese players think of JEJ's spawn.
"When Jaggedy-Eared Jack which, is the rare POP of Forest Hare per H9 of the west remaining overnight fall is pushed down Drop it does rarely." I think the "overnight fall" is important but im not sure how to interpret that. If anyone can figure it out it would help us all.

so "per H9 of the west remaining overnight fall" just means "it spawns in West Ronfaure at (H-9)"

Boozer here from saraph: First off i would like to say that in my world...that charm aint no 200K. Its actually alot cheaper then that, but i dont recall the price atm. I hunted this rabbit with my ranger/war just so i can provoke it b4 those nasty high-level players beat me to the punch (happened too many times already)....and i got it....no drop. I went back to town and came back as lvl 19ranger/9theif....and i scanned for it for about 3 hours b4 i saw it again. Dont know if thats the time between spawns...or if i was just blind. But anyway i got it again...barely beat a Warrior provoke. and no drop again. I stole a Sandorian Carrot from it thou...heh, at least i made 100 gils off all my wasted time!

Lizzy is better if you're going for money. However if you plan to be a high level thf and want the final peice of your AF armor go ahead and kill jack. I think people who hunt jack for money are ridiculous. I got the charm and there's no chance in hell I'ma sell it. 200k I can get easily from lizzy who has a MUCH better drop rate. So two drops from her and I've got 50k more than what the charm sells for.

On Alexander I've seen the charm sell for 300k.
here on Odin it's always between 320-380k, 300k would be a steal

Can someone PLEASE tell me how to say "You have no chance of drop at you lvl, your just waisting a spawn." in jananese?
I have encountered numerous high lvl jp players that obvioulsy dont know they are waisting everyones time by killing this thing at such high lvls... i jsut sat around for 4 hours waiting for spawn, high lvl paly showed up 5 minutes before spawn and stole it! SO ANNOYING! not like they even have the slightest chance of getting a drop. AAAAAAAAAH!

High level players have just as much chance of getting a rare drop like this as do lower-level players.

I know people say it's just a rumor but I was killing jack and never got the charm until the time I killed him when it was 2% new moon. I too thought it was a rumor that the phase of the moon affected it, obviously this one case doesn't exactly prove it but you have to wonder why so many japanese sites have this "rumor" on them in the first place.

I figured that out too. I think because in the newbie zones, the items are for the lower lvls to give them advantage. I read all the time that higher lvl characters don't get the drops. IF you want the NM drops bad enough, lv a class to the perfect lvl of 14 and hunt away. My whm has a better success getting items off NM than my mnk

To the guy that said he got two dropsoff two kills...I hope you sold and get rid of the other item, because you can't have more than one. And, as a lvl 14whm, and a lvl 29 mnk, I killed it five times with two drops. The class seriously doesn't seem to matter

Hunting for Jaggedy Eared Jack is a waste of time! Ive been hunting for him three days straight and it just about drove me nuts. Go fish or something, its more relaxing.
