Sometimes the first group and last group of Rock Lizards will not exist on your widescan depending on where you stand and how big your widescan range is... Respawn time for Rock Lizards is 5 minutes earth time so once you kill a PH, set a 5 min timer. I would recommend that when you are camping LL, go in a party with 2 members, since LL have a chance to spawn either at the upper floor or at the lower one (regardless of which PH was killed...)
With two members you can each take a PH to make it easier to keep track of the pop window for each PH. Happy hunting! Has the spawn time changed ? I was camping it for over 2 hours last night spawned after one then didn't spawn for 2 hours so I went to bed. Before updates and item drop i saw him every hour or so if there is a diff way to get him to spawn please let me know thnx.

I remember back when I had my old character I would camp Leaping Lizzy all the time just to make some decent gil. Though after I had quit the game and deleted him I decided to come back and start a new char. I got to lvl 30 and all and was planning on going DRK or DRG and I new that having Bounding Boots would be useful. So I go to Windy, do RNG quest. Go to S Gustaberg to spawn area as lvl 30 war/rng. I wait for about 15 min spamming wide scan, and without seeing him on the scan, I see that he popped right in front of me. So I claim him, kill, but no drop. I then decide to keep at it. So I wait another 45 min spamming Wide Scan and see him. Nobody else was camping him so that made it easier. Anyways, I get to LL, kill him, and get Bounding Boots^^. I'm 1/2 on Lizzy and level 20 DRG^^

camped lizzy for fifteen minutes. It popped up and dropped bounding boots. I'm 1/1 and it was all luck. Another guy told me he had camped it all night and was 0/20. He wasn't very nice to me.
I've camped Lizzy a few times, never too seriously. Yesterday I decided I was going to get it, since on my way to Dangruf to kill time there was only 2 people camping it, neither had wide scan, and here I was, 51Thf/Rng. So I dismount and stand around for 20 mins spamming wide scan and occasionally shooting a lizard that crosses within range. It pops, I see it on wide scan, Flee for a 10 sec run, claim and kill it. Lizard tail. No one else even noticed it popped. I have to go do some stuff, so I log out for a while...
Log back in 6-8 hours later already in position. Spam wide scan 15 mins, pop, flee to position, claim 2 secs ahead of a /bst. Didn't even give me a lizard tail. 2:20:00 later, it pops again, I flee, claim, kill, drop! I was very excited. =)
This puts me at 1/9 for Lizzy, 1/4 with TH2.

LL poped 4 times in a hour time span o.O After I killed it, i would just continue to kill rock lizards, around 15minutes later, it would pop again.

my luck with this thing after the update changed a 180 degree , Leaping Lizzy was my gil source , I made 2 millions of her in three days , I got 4/14 , after the update , I decided I will go take her once more and get the drop to use it myself
I got 4 claims in a row .. and nothing yet...
after an hour or so , I dc/d .. for about 2-4 minutes , i came back and wow , lizzy has poppped , was killed AND SHE DROPPED !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just camped for 2nd day in a row, about 1 hour. I killed her 4 times in the past 2 days and no drop, except lizard tails every time. 1/4 on Leaping Boots, 0/4 on Bounding Boots.
She should drop her head mounted on a plaque for you to put up in your mog house when you get the boots.
It's like they made the lizard tails 100% drop as if to say "kiss my ***".

wooo hoooo! camped this chief tonight.. i was my 18 Rng, thought i try out wide-scan. well i was about 20 min into camping, then poof, there she was. well i was to slow and some thf claimed her, but didnt get the drop. so i run to bastoka, change jobs to 50Thf/18Rng ^^ and try my luck again. well im killing lizzards for about 15 min... check wide scan a couple times... and poof!!! there she is, and she was all mine. I press me flee macro, and claim lizzy. well i killed her and my game laged, it said i got a lizzard tale... ... ... lag stops... ... ... you recived the bounding boots.... SWEET!!!! long story short, im 1/1 on lizzy ^^ good luck to all those trying for the boots.
my tip:: go when its realy late in the day, it was around 3:30 am when i got the boots, and no one was camping her.

hhmm.. i been camping this nm for some friends. i seem to get drop 1/3.. best tip i recommend is have a party of a thf/rng.. and a high lvl go around and train all liz and kill. i can easily get leaping liz to spawn 2-3 times within 1-2hr.. good luck camping.

My score with Leaping Lizzy after the update is 1/3 because i only needed to kill it to get drop and keep drop forever. But my score before the update wasnt too bad... Well anyways, im here to offer the people of Alexander my services

OK first of all what I suggest to people that want to camp this guy is:
1) Get thief to level 25 for flee.
2) Sub either Ranger or Beastmaster for widescan.
I camped him for a little over 3 hours before I got my first claim and drop. With a 25 thief you should get drop often, if not the first time, because you are near the NM's level and you have treasure hunter. If you don't have treasure hunter the drop rate will suck no matter what.
Next on my list is VE. Lol that will be a lot harder I'm guessing.

Well guys I know a load of frustration in attempting to kill get the drop off this Lizard. I am 0/46, in some occasions spending 8 hours just killing Leaping Lizzy. I've gotten the damn thing down to a science and have tried every crazy theory in these posts.
Login and Kill when LL pops: Ok this is crap, tried it no drop at all.
Full Moon: I recorded the drops from players kind enough to share with me the results of their kill (not including the scum who remained in the area after saying they got the drop). Odds seem slightly higher on a full moon.
TH2 and Three Leaf: While these things have helped with testimony and various other mindless excercises in claiming items needed for advancement in the game. The seemed to have NO baring whats so ever on the drop of the boots. In fact many who killed the LL did it without theif being subbed or mained. None had even heard of the Three Leaf situation, but coincidently had the item in there inventory (mostly those who had been leveling in the jungle levels 27-31).
The Level Theory: Honestly I've seen many low levels get killed, I have tried this myself as well. Level 19 Monk with RNG sub, 0/6 and I most likely will try again on Friday during the next full moon cycle. I haven't seen anything conclusive to disprove this or not. However I'm leaning towards false as it is almost 50/50 on low level and high level gaining the drop. Keyword almost, plus the individuals who were lower in did have a much higher success rate then the some of the higher levels. Coincidence maybe?
GM's: Useless as ever, at 0/43 I finaly was so pissed after dragging Thieves and Anyone willing to help down to get these damn boots for 3 kills (about 6 hours) we still had no drop. I was unable to get any information in regaurds to the LL's contributing factors to drop the item. Either the GM's don't know (most likely the truth) or they are instructed not to say. However I was told that if I had a complaint or suggestion I could make it through the POL service.
What I Propose:
Ok so you're pissed about the drop rate and hate the idea that hunting an NM is like a trip to the Casino. If you wanted to gamble you'd go to vegas right? Well our money is the time spent and the prize is soley based on the odds the casino (Square Enix) has decided to give us. What I suggest is going into PL and Sending in your complaint/suggestion to Square Enix with details of your problem. The GM said it is based on "Chance", so is it fair to say that some are more lucky then others? I'm sorry, but considering the way things have been going for me in the game and out I'd say I have the worest luck in the world. If this trend continues I will never have the damn boots and will have to go about shelling out the gil for the Leaping Boots Drops that come from the BCNM30 in Ghelsba. You can submit your Complaint/Suggestion by going to 'Service and Support' in POL -> 'Support' -> 'E-mail Support' -> 'Comments & Suggestions' -> 'Open Form'. This will get noticed if enough people submit their thoughts through these means. The Japanese influence the game with their letters to Famitsu and other publications in Japan from what I hear. Including the recent Job inclusion to the new expansion pack (It Maybe the Blue Mage). The Rare/EX patch was also suggested by a Player according to the GM I spoke with. So connect the dots, we have a voice so lets use it. If Square knows their is a problem they will address it. We may miss the October Patch window, but I'm pretty sure their will be another patch in January or February to Address X-Box 90 players, so the fix can be applied then.

I had all of my equipment except for Leaping/Bounding Boots so I decided to go down to South Gustaberg to check for LL. I get there by chocobo and there's only one other camper so I get off my chocobo, and within 5 seconds LL spawns right in front of me. I throw my dart and claim it, kill it as 50 thf / 22 rng in a second, and get the Bounding Boots. 0/4 pre-patch, 1/1 post-patch. Oh, it was hell pre-patch.
Heh... I was 0/21 solo pre-patch, 1/22 with friends. Yes, the one time I got the boots pre-patch was with 2 other thieves.
Post-patch? Well, seeing as I gave away all my gear, then quit.. then came back 3 months later, I needed BBs. 1/2, got on second claim. Spawned within about 10 minutes of getting there both times. That's to make up for going 1/12 on Odqan and 1/23 on Emp (post-patch.. 1/18 pre).

um... i was camping this over-camped NM and it seems to have a new popping spot, its a bit closer to fumaroles then the other popping spots

OK heres my drop theory and theres reason behind it. what if drops dont happen for long time campers to prevent gil sellers from ruining the game(but now that this is a unsellable item i have no idea way it would still be this way but read on anyway). so they made it harder to get the drop the longer youre there. so this is my solution, but its not an easy one to pull off. Get everyone that is camping lizzy togther and decied whos going to get the kill on lizzy(this involves some communication lol) through dice roll or get a pt togther kill a rock lizard and who ever gets the lizard tail gets to do this first ect.... when some see's lizzy have no one claim it and the chosen person log out or D/C then come back in and kill lizzy, i think you have a much better if not certain chance of getting the drop because it resets your timer. my story of lizzy is much like this there was a lightning storm and a lightning strike must have cause the power to fade a little but not blackout, but this was just enough for my hub to go out and i D/C, and when i came to there was lizzy, killed her and got the drop, i encourage you to read the other success stories too they are very much like this one, and please post me back if this works i want to know if it works really bad

Well after camping and claiming her over 100 times, I will most likely never camp Lizzy again. Had this game since the US PC release and her drops paid for most of hauberk and snipers.
When my Drk reached 70 I decided to go back and level my 35 thf. With Leaping Boots well over a mil, it wasnt feasible to buy them for 2 levels and pay the absurb AH fee. So there I went back to the old hunting ground.
Claimed her 6 times post rar/ex patch and no drop. Log out one night at Lizzy spawn and loged back in the next day. Check wide scan and ther she is, next to me with not one soul in sight. EES her for some obscene dmg and I get the drop.
Only thing I'm gonna contribute about her is that she does tend to drop more if you are closer to her level and she does tend to spawn of Fires day.
Also thf is now 37 and I now have a rar/ex item that will most likely just sit in my Mog House until I accidently throw it away, just to give me a reason to maybe go out and hunt again.

Hell yeah! Today I was strolling through here to see if I could maybe get a glimpse of Lizzy before a jp claimed its ***, within half an hour of random Rock Lizard slaughter lo and behold Lizzy pops over the hill in F-8 as im spamming TAB. I run over and provoke as fast as I can and BOOM shes mine even with about 5 others hunting her also! Got the drop first go and was stunned, after planning for months to one day make the trip and reading all these posts of failure here i couldnt believe im now the proud owner of my very own Bounding Boots!..guess it was my lucky day *kisses four-leaf clover in gobby bag*!
I'm 1/1 after deciding to camp LL just like old times. I love these boots for farming, bst, thf, whatever, I never actually used Leaping boots before, just sold em.

I might not be to experienced but I wish to share my experience on LL. Prepatch I were 13/57 wich IMO is good, I ALLWAYS go as THF/BST I suggest this for everyone. If anyone out there can give me a combo better than this please tell me: 1.THII for drop rate( Im still not sure if this really does affect NM rare/ex drop) 2.Flee, everyone should have this while camping this
kind of NMs, 3.steal for instant claim, of couse charm is MUCH better, low range but w/ flee its easy to get close, charm macro is also instant, 4.BST got wide scan but not compared to RNG's(Idk about 70+BST) but this is just awensome(sp?)!! Low scan make you just able to sca the area when the pop is possible! ;D Myself have 52THF and 38BST so I do 52/26 However I think 25/12 might be as good, no THII through :(

i have a pretty understandable theory(i dont know if it already exists though) about how to get the drop i just have to try it out, and i already have the bounding boots i was 1/6 with the drop(so im not going to try to get them), but like alot of other people i have a pretty interesting story about when i got them. so if anyone whats to try my theory out on the RAMUH SERVER e-mail me at cliffmonkey1400@hotmail.com
