Vana'diel Bestiary: Leaping Lizzy  

I gave up camping Lizzy today. I reached about 0/25 or so. My brother is somethigng like 0/7 or something.

Today I decided to farm today to make gil for equipment, so as usual I started to kill everything insight. So about a half hour later I go down to the lower part of South Gustaberg, were Lizzy spawns. And of course there was 7-8 high levels there camping it.
I deside to make it easy for them by kill'in a bunch of lizards, and in about 20 minutes lizzy spawns right in front of me...what to do...I' m a level 13 theif with no sub. I stood there for a couple seconds, waiting for some one to claim it, lol then here comes four high level players running down the hill ready to claim there prize. Instead of hitting my shout <t> at <pos> macro I hit shoot target instead.lol. So here I' am a level 13 theif fighting for my life. So one of the guys buts up his 'invite' sign on. I two hour disingage and invite him. Then he hits it twice steal agroo, and I end up killing it. How fun, but no boots.
So I thank the guy for saving me, and log off. Two hours later I log back on to start farming again, while farming I managed to reach level 14. Soon after lizzy spawns about 50 feet in from and there are two bots standing next to it. My adrenaline rush kicks in I sprint up to hit my shoot macro claim it and have the fight of my life.
I get a critical hit off it, then another critical hit with my beestinger. I dodge the first three attacks from her then she hit me with a critical, use my bow again hit it then I parried its attack, hit it, then get off another critical hit with my bow, then just in a couple hits it takes me down half, I two hour then get off for the third time a critical hit, lol, after I take it down to 1/4 health my two hour weres off then it starts to beat down on me again, so I shoot it, hit it, then dodge another attack, then I try to hit it again with my bow but it tells me 'you do not have the proper equipment for that' and after that I miss it four times and it poisons me, block a hit and hit it three times with my beestinger. Hurray! I killed leaping lizzy,d get it, got 25exp.then die from the poison.
What a fight...I had luck on my side for that one. But know I' am a happy elf.

Nothing wrong with noobs in this nm... This is a Lower member NM... There gonna get killed on there first try... i soloed him a level 8 With half health with my Monk... but had to use.. Hundred Fists.... I had 3 Health left loool.

But still nothing wrong with noobs camping it... Its usually a new person Notorious monster since its such a low level. ^^

After my hunting experience with Leaping Lizzy
have figured that this is the worst NM.

1: The price for the boots keeps dropping constantly....My last pair i just sold was 230k
2: The reason its called Leaping Lizzy... Not just for the hot boots... But... Ive seen it leap on widescan it would Spawn in F-8, And it leaped down to the Fumaroles... Where a party of new members lvl 9 got it.. and the drop.
3. The spawn time is complete lottery...Ive waited there for 16 Hours straight with my camping party, i kept killing the Lizards for them but still nothing... Soo as far as i know ... Spawn time is.. 5 Minutes... To... 16 hours..
4. If you dont have Thf/Rng you are in trouble in this huge spawn area... because if lizzys is on the other side of F-8 That Thf with flee is going to get it.... But this is for advice... if your still a lower level and only have provoke... then just run around the mountain... its better then just sitting there... Thats how i got most of my Boots.

But Besides that if your hunting the boots for money.. its not worth it... You should either Hunt Hoo or Emperor (Dont know much about Emp)... But If you hunt Hoo you wont go insane youll see him every hour.. Decent drop rate..Soo no worrys with him...

But anyway goodluck to anyone... Who needs boots for Ranger Or Thf ^^.. Cause its going to be he!!.

I think LL is waaaaaaay over rated! When u hear people talking about it, it sounds soooo ez, just wait around till it spawns, kill it, and get the boots. Well thats not true i dont think its worth it! Ive hunted this thing 4 days RLT and only got it once! all that time wasted, plus eveyone is so mean there! sure ive made a couple friends hunting LL, but theres always that 1 or 2 kids that always **** u off! in my case 2 LL were stloen off me and they BOTH got drop! its just no fair. Over all dont waste ur time hunting this NM. it SUCKS!!!

I was camping Leaping Lizzy so i can wear Leaping Boots for my DRK AND THF, but he hasn't spawned for 8 hours!!!!!!! Anyone know if its because no one killed place holders? I was killing lizards but no one was helping at all, god i hate some of these people that can just sit and wait sometimes, they never do anything but spam their wide-scan or just run around in F-8 trying to find Leaping Lizzy. Right now my record on this guy is 0/3 (>_<). No luck on this guy for 3 hours LOL. It really sux, I dont think im ever gonna camp this NM again, 8 hours of spawning time is way too long. SEe unlike some people i really need the boots for my job, im gonna start lvling NIN soon and there good to have, and i need the boots, and when i camp for it, it never eVeR! Spawns, but when im on a choco to bastok, i see it!(but taken ><) but can any one help me out i would greatly aprreciate it

Well my record was not to bad!!! I was 5-25 on the drop. Now i can't get them again :-/ Im now at 5-34 at one time i was 4-10 then one day i decided to help a linkshell member try and get a pair. In 8 non stop hours we got her 13/15 times. Not once did we get them till after I log out and 10 mins later he tracks her and gets the drop. For the last week i have had so much trouble getting her to drop them again so i can use these things again. Pair one used till i needed a Emp hairpin, Pair 2 went to my girlfriend Hairpin. Pair 3 and 4 went to her Kote. pair 5 went to my LS member who later sold them. the other pair that my other ls member got from that once hell of a day went to my snipers ring. So now im stuck trying to get a pair to use again for my lvl 44 Dragoon so i can really set down and camp for my other snipers ring besides lizzy. if i could get this last pair I promise never to camp this lvl 10 NM again. just my luck as of late has been so crappy. Usualy i have no problem getting her its just getting the drop. So if anyone on Leviathan is willing to help please send me a message to Akyazi id be willing to even pay a fee for your help. Anything i just really want these boots again to use on My Dragoon. Thanks Aky

I have 2 questions on Lizzy for someone to answer? What is the chance if him dropping the boots? And could a level 15 war, solo him?

My advice to low-med levels such as myself(war30) is to not kill lizards. There's already people doing that constantly while their mates(probably rng 99% of the time) keep a look out. It's best you just sit there and watch for lizzy, let them do the dirty work. And if they aren't doing it then still don't do it, you'll just end up helping them get it while you're busy killing lizards and then you hear "I got the boots!" and you're like WTF!

As for the guy who was watching rangers, can you blame him when it's worth 400k? Not that i'd do it cause I got better things to do but still, you don't have any claim of ownership on lizzy because you got ranger, bottom line he can do it and shouldn't be called a stealer. Perhaps a sorry son of a *****, but not a stealer.

Leaping Boots=Most overpriced equip in the game. For what they give you, it's seriously overpriced. But if people aren't willing to force the price down then good for them the boots are worth it to them.
