Rock Lizards don't drop boots, let alone any equipments at all. Leaping Lizzy, on the other hand (which I'm sure you fought) drops a rare item (1/50 chance) called leaping boots. They are worth at least 150k on my server, if not more. The fact you sold it for 1000 gil...

Sometimes the first group and last group of Rock Lizards will not exist on your widescan depending on where you stand and how big your widescan range is... Respawn time for Rock Lizards is 5 minutes earth time so once you kill a PH, set a 5 min timer. I would recommend that when you are camping LL, go in a party with 2 members, since LL have a chance to spawn either at the upper floor or at the lower one (regardless of which PH was killed...)

Today a couple of ls friends and i decided to camp lizzy. We had a party of four, and split up so we each camped a fourth of F-8. After camping for 6 hours. The first spawn took about an hour and a half, after that lizzy was spawning every 30 mins. The key is killing as many rock lizards as you can. Lizzy spawned 6 times total, and we fought it 4 of those 6. It never dropped the boots, but we did notice that every time it spawned, it spawned close to the stone pillar and it spawned in 3 relative spots all 6 times. Anywhoo, i highly reccomend camping this with a party. It is a lot more fun when you have somebody to talk to and joke around with, and it also helps your chances of getting Lizzy. As of now im 0/4 but im gonna give it another try tomorrow.

Ok, I have no help for getting the drop, but I can give away a little advice to campers on location. Don't know about other servers, but on Gilgamesh every body camps right around the big hill. I subbed RNG lvl 1 for widescan, and quickly found out lizzy only spawns there about 50% of the time. In 1 week I've killed lizzy 12 times (no boots ><) and seen 10 other kills. I now camp the group of rocks very close to E-9. There is about 6 rock lizard spawn points there, and lizzy always spawns in a normal lizard spot it seems. I've also found that having a larger party seems to help with drops(aka, never had pt for lizzy). I had a 4 and 5 man pt the 2 times I killed the EMP and we got the hairpin both times. Not sure if pt size helps, if anybody knows pass the info along

W00t, I did 20 times and no drop! that's almost half is how many i killed the "Ooze NM in Ordell's Cave." Yes im so luckey, and no drop! w00t, now i can be more poor! but not getting a single drop! from ANY NM hell when i kill bubbly burnie the GM is going to say "Trogdar has bad luck, let's just not give him the steam clock" that's what a GM thinks about be...

I've hunted this thing for three days straight, for hours, and have touched her but once, and nothing.... >.<
My first kill, the guy was camped heavily all day, I decided to kill time as I worked the day after and was running low on gil.
Spawn 1: 47 THF gets it.
Spawn 2: 47 THF gets it.
Spawn 3: ... 47 THF gets it.
Spawn 4: Got widescan and PWNed the lizzy.
There you go. Easy to do, just have widescan and TH2.
Well, getting TH2 isn't too easy, but hell it's worth it.

I'm currently 1/7 on LL. My only advie to offer to new campers is to kill the rock lizards. It makes LL spawn faster and you might be even lucky, for example: Today I was hunting for some boots to keep for my thf, sold my old ones to by emperor hairpin.
Anyways I'm scammign widescan and see enw lizzies pop up. I go around killing thema nd then I see one left. I start running to it, and then I do the usual wide scan as I'm running, jsut to be safe, well then I see the words "Leaping Lizzy" and I freak. So I look where it is and its right where I'm running to. I beat the guy to LL that was camping 5 feet from LL, but no boots.
Good luck to everyone on LL, hope my advice helps a little.

LL is always hard to get no matter what job or lvl im' 0/6 on her and i camp her almost 24/7...the one thing that does **** me off is people that get LL (and even worse get the boots) that are just passing by...true it's luck but it's also kinda rude...i've sat up to 7 hours camping lizzy and had someone passing by get her...kinda sad too...any ways someone add me on msn emilee_milburn@hotmail.com i'm bored ^^
I really don't find that rude. People pass by see an NM and say "Hey, I don't see anyone else killing it. Why don't I?"

I'm a 35thf/17nin many times I have camped lizzy with no luck. Last night I was running through South Gusta having a good old time and I see lizzy and throw at her...I got the drop on one try after camping her many times. Very Happy Night good luck hunting.

Today, i was camping lizzy with me war/rng and my friend war/thf. We were doin pretty good...there for about 45 mins, wen i get d/c'ed. So im like...no way she wouldave spawned in that 2 minute interval to log back on.....well guess what. I guess the gods were angry at me cuz i found out that as soon as i had d/c'ed she had spawned. I was/am so pissed. I want to go cry in my pillow but ill hold it in for another day.....so pissed...my friend didnt get it but...its all good....i think...

dont complain about this. leaping boots are good almost forever for thf and rngs. also, everyone needs to make cash one way or another. if u need the boots, but cant claim her, maybe you should find another way to make money. then u can buy the boots.
It seems like Japanese players have laid off hunting some of the smaller NMs, such as Leaping Lizzy and the Valkurm Emperor. They prefer NMs that spawn in smaller, tight knit places, like Quu Dogi the Gallant, Mee Deggi the Punisher and the Yagudo who drops Monster's Signa.
To be honest, I've only gotten into NM hunting as a method of paying the bills recently. I may have set my sights too high when I tried to go for Quu and Mee, but I've had more luck in Davoi, and a little in Giddeus, but not much. I may continue to try.

I am a lvl 46thf/22rng, I am 0 for 15 with leaping, starting to think my lvl is to high for this drop. Good news, i'm 4/12 with Emperor, so i will sell my hairpin to get boots, then just get hairpin again hopefully.

First off....I'm freaken broke, and I'm a thf. Go figure. Anyway, this seems like an easy street ticket even at lvl 35. First time I run out to kill her I am checking the limits of F-8 just to learn my way around. I see a liz. Couldn't be lizzy yet. It is, I don't get her and she drops ><. 5 days later 0/9. I hate this. I wish there was a pk option to let out my anger on other campers. Whoever came up with this whole "NM" idea at SquareEnix has a HORRIBLE sense of humor and should probably be beaten.

I say F Leaping Lizzy. When i was around level 15 mnk I killed Leaping Lizzy 2 times in a row and 2imes I got the drop :) But then when i hit lvl 30 and got my rng and widescan Lizzy started to become cheap h*e. It was either I killed her twice or she wouldn't spawn for hours on end. In fact once I was camping and she hadn't spawne dof ran hour so i decided to camp, after another hour i decided to leave because of how frustrated I was. I came back an hour later and she still hadn't spawned and people were getting mad. F LIZZY.
Also I killed her twice in one night with a buddy but no drop :( Plus the next night I killed her twice in a row with still no drop :(
If you need money go mining or go camp something else, Lizzy sucks.

I have been camping Lizzy pretty hardcore for the past week.. After 8 kills and no drop i was getting pretty upset.. So i used my lv 17 Ranger 8 Thief and decided to give it one more shot.. I show up at Lizzy's usual spot and i ask a high lv THF that was there when the last time she spawned was.. She told me about an hour ago.. so knowing that i had my eyes peeled and my widescan fresh.. about 10 min later sure enough i see Lizzy on widescan, but shes pretty far away! DOH! i track her and start running. because i dont have war subbed i didnt have voke so my quickest way to hit lizzy is just with my dagger i thought i was toast.. i get within range of her and target her. SHE'S UNCLAIMED! I try to get to her as quick as i can.. i get stuck on a rock! nooo i see someone going for her.. i go around the other way and wham! i hit her for 23 points of damage. phew i got her! for my 9th time. i pray to the leaping gods that the boots drop.. i turn off my screen.. turn it back on 10-15 sec later and scroll up to see. Fota defeats Leaping Lizzy. You find a pair of leaping boots on Leaping Lizzy. Fota obtains a pair of leaping boots. FINALLY! on my 9th kill of Leaping Lizzy.. am i going to sell them? HECK no they're mine. Goes to show you, dont give up be persistant and you too can have Lizzy's boots.

well again i decide to try to go for lizzy.. me and friend are chillin for about an hr.. i get hungry tell him goin to the kitchen to get chicken and a beer... come bac "wtf sev whyd u ahve to go get chickens man she spawned rigth on top of u.. wtf man.." i swear to god its a conspiracy against me to get this dam lizard so now imwaitin again til she spawn.... My spot where i see her everytime i hunt her... to the right of the big rockright next to the 3 smaller rocks.. hope u guys start to have luck cuz this friggin blows ... i jus want them for my thf
I just logged in this morning, right at the big rock in South Gust. I had only been running in circles for 10 minutes when I ran smack into Lizzy. This being my first time fighting her and fighting an NM at all, I damn near had a stroke! But, no drop. I'm gonna have to level a thief to 15 and get Treasure Hunter, and give it another go!

So I was in South Gustaberg the other day power leveling my brother's RNG. I told him to go down to the Fumaroles to try tougher mobs. We get down there and see the usual Leaping Lizzy camping crowd (usually up to ten people at times). Maybe after ten minutes of power leveling, my brother gets real low on HP, so I try to target him, but instead target "Leaping Lizzy". I had a heart attack.
I tried to think of a fast way to get him. I did FOE REQUIEM, and got Lizzy! But alas! No drop ; ;

Man do I remember this clearly. I had just flown into Bastok and my friend Mikkel and I were supposed to go hunt Leaping Lizzy. But he got tied up and said he couldn't go. So I said you know what forget it I'll hunt another time. He said "Nah just go hunt him! You never know..." and I was a lvl 25 PLD at the time and I was like yeah ok. So I went out and stood around the Lizzy spawning area. Complaining after 10 mins (not very patient am I) and all of a sudden Lizzy spawns on my right. I had targeted it and I was like Holy ****. SO I ran full speed over to it spamming provoke until it did it. I was now fighting Leaping Lizzy. Man I was so excited. After about 3 hits she died and it said
"You find a pair of Leaping Boots on the Leaping Lizzy."
"Ryushi obtains a pair of Leaping Boots"
omg I screamed so loud my house shook! I was only a PLD/WAR and I had gotten the boots by my self in 10 mins...that's lucky. I am now standing in S.Gustaberg for more than 3 hours and yet no spawn...;_; oh well.
