Vana'diel Bestiary: Leaping Lizzy  

I needed money for tree cuttings for gardening, and most ways of making money for me didn't work out (mining, farming crawlers, farming cuttings got real bad), so i thought "aaah why not, ill camp lizzy". I really didn't like Lizzy because she made me beat her up 16 times b4 getting boots (grrr).So the first time it spawns I spotted a familiar mithra by the name of Mirowr (of course, THF/RNG) after about an hour, and were just hanging out waiting for lizzy to spawn. She leaves saying she'll come back, so I wait for about 1 1/2 hours, and she comes back (no lizzy spawn). About 3 minutes after she comes back it spawns. We were both standing next to each other, I end up fleeing first, but we were both practically right next to each other, and so we both spot it and a taru dia's it. A quiet little taru standing there the whole time! We were kinda mad. Second spawn came 2 minutes later, unexpectedly, right behind me and Mirowr, I was totally unaware Lizzy was behind us (there was a huge tail in screen, doh!), so she gets it, and gets boots, in 2 MINUTES!. Mithran luck, i guess. Third spawn, I was determined to get lizzy. Some poor guy kept asking me to help him cus he was there all day, but i had to refuse. Turns out it spawns right in front of him, and I got it (guess he wasn't looking). It dropped the boots. I was happy and sad at same time.

Lizzy dropped 3x in a row (thank u lizzy!). BTW, my drop was at 50% moon. I forgot name, i think it had waxing in it (I was never good at science), and i think the others were around there too, cus spawns weren't very long apart. Me and Mirowr became friends too ^^.

man i got lucky one time. i was camping this lizard and spamming widescan. out of no were she spawns next to a drg that was camping lizzy as well, he doesn't spam jump or anything. so i creep up to her and start to spam provoke like crazy, BAM, i get her. after the battle is done and no drop he says to me man ur cheap that was my kill. turns out he was spamming widescan while i got the kill. still no boots though, man i'm starting to hate this nm.

i camped got him 3 times and got boots 3/3 times so now im 900k richer ^_^

no im jm i camped for like 2 hours and he spawned 3 times in 2 hrs!!! but i misse dhim lol i was so pissed i punched my wall tell my nuckles wer bleeding lol...

After 2 days of camping Lizzy i finally got my first fight with her and i didnt get any drop /cry. well im going to keep going and i made a new friend while camping whos going to help camp 2 items 1 for me and 1 for him. thanks for the info if this site wasn't here i would have never knew Lizzy droped the boots i needed.

May times with her have sucked all together lol ive seen her 5 tiems int he same spot eveytime and havnt got her at all yet... My fault pretty much i gues su could sayy get distractede and thats when shell pop. blah blah i understand that. But my most recent time was when iw as even huntin her iw as waitin for a friend to get doen pwrlvlin sum1 so we could go lvlin ourselves. so im in F8 cuz it was rigth there not expectin nething to happen at all. So as a joke to get everyone in LS laughin it <kinda dull that day>. I prayed " dear lord plz let lizzy pop, amen" phone rings.. i go answer i come back to see whats goin and bam right next to me not even 3ft away sheis gettin murdered. idk what it is its like im ment not to have these boots at all or suttin i jus wanna wear them dammit plzzzzz. lol thx for readin my aggresion session.

So... I hadn't got my sleep then my mom finally wakes me up cause she needed to practice her typing on the computer, I'm groggy and annoyed at this and leave my room to play FFXI in the living room (Got PS2 hooked up in there since we got two TVs in there) and I logged out right at F-8 in South Gusta, so before going on my merry way, I figure I'll hang around for a little bit and see if Lizzy pops. 10-15 minutes later, Bam she spawns soon as I turn around, No one else was nearby so I didn't even have to use Dia to pull, just took out my Flame Degen and stab stab, kill, "OMG BOOTS!!!11"

Later the same day, me and my boyfriend decide to go take another stab at camping Lizzy, he was throwin' a drag and then finally about 35-45 minutes after we started camping, I said we could stop and try later, (we were on the phone while playing) he says he's gonna logout but I tell him to wait cause I wanted to see his Galka (Subligar baby <_<..) so I run up to see him, not even 3 seconds after I get there, I tell him "It's Lizzy I got it!" and he thought I was pulling his leg till I kept spamming my Dia macro cause it interrupted the first timeI casted, then I got it, killed... No boots, heh >_>

1/3 Ain't bad. I'm currently leveling THF to 15 just for Lizzy ^.^

Gonna buy so many new spells for my RDM!!

I dont quiet remmeber what level i was when i first fought lizzy but i think i was about 19 or so,i was a war/mnk (im lvl 31 now and leveling nin) anyways i logged on and started running to bastok when i saw leaping lizzy i swear i had a heart attack,i ran up to it and someone else wasi voked that sucker right befroe he did and i got her,heart still racin and all, (funny thing.....20 people came outta no were i was like holy...lol they formed a circle around me) anyways i killed it AND....no drop i was pissed and thought it must be vengeance on me for me keep telling my LS i see her,so later me and a friend go out there i showed him the spot and we camped it, (basically right after my first lizzy encounter) im just sittin there on that rock makin the camera go in circles when she spawned its funny to cause there were 3 people in front of her i ran to her and voked her,i told my friend hs all like yea right then it says Spike defeated Leaping Lizzy then my next heart attack-you obtained Leaping Boots i shouted liek crazyt my friend did to no one belived so i said come here (after i lotted on them)i equipped them and
pissed off a few people and got a few praises,unfortunately i had to sell them to split the dough with my friend but its cool,anyway thsts my overly long story.

Here's a tale with Lizzy you won't believe. So I was on my way in a FULL ALLIANCE! to go do Eco-Warrior Bastok. Half of the alliance was already at Gusgen, some were in the Highlands already, some in Bastok still, but only me and a couple other people were in South Gustaberg at the time. So I figured while I wait for the people to come from Bastok, I'll look for Lizzy on my chocobo. I think some angel liked me that day, because within 5 minutes of running around aimlessly, Lizzy spawned East of the big rock! Without a doubt, I jumped off that chocobo and sure enough got to Her in time. The fact that she dropped the Boots wasn't the unbelievable thing... Try fighting off a hoard of 17 other alliance members to gain rights to the 300k item that you rightfully deserve... Needless to say they all had a heart and let me have the boots *sigh*. I'm currently 2/3 with Lizzy Boots, and semi-hopefull to camp her again! ^.^

i just kiled the lizzy for my 1st time :) right before the update today but i didnt get the drop :(

hi i would like to say above there is a pic lizzy but u also see this dumb loser named cmoney theif/rng this guy all he does is sit there and hunt lizzy all day what a loser he does it so much that he even got his pic taken oh yeah this loser is 15 yrs old dood go get a girl thats what i would do instead of sitting there for 10hrs a day to hunt a stupid lizzy this idiot is in the diablos server if u dont believe me stop bye once in a while he will be there dont the same thing everyday

As a seasoned Lizzy Hunter I can tell you that her spawn rate is crazy, and if you get her before anyone else does your gonna get a lot of cold shoulders. But her spawn rate usually goes around 45 mins to 5 hours. But on a few occasions she will spawn exactely 15 mins after her long spawn (it's these that people get really mad at you for). So far i'm 10/30 on drops from Lizzy, I only lost her to someone 10 times and thats without the use of widescan. I tried using widescan and found that the time that I takes for me to use it and actually find lizzy someones already got it. One time it zoned right in front of me and someone else grabbed it before I knew it was there. So I swear it off. besides it's too over camped for using widescan except if you wanna run over to someone and cheer them on to kill it, and congratulate them on they're drop if they get it so don't get discouraged if you find someone that has widescan is camping her. What I usually do is just pick a spot and watch it, watch it like a hawk, to keep yourself from going crazy just get yourself a long distance weapon and kill birds in the mean time. In the time frame it takes to get lizzy to spawn you could have a nice 3-4 stacks of fire crystals (even more if it takes 5 hours, which it rarely does). The most common spawn frame I've found was 1.5 to 2 hours. Hope this advise helps future Lizzy Hunters.
