Make sure you have treasure hunter. If you have treasure hunter II, even better. Also, make sure you have something to grab it with that works fast. Im not sure if any ranged weapons can fire quick enough to get it. I would go with provoke or a fast spell. If you have to sacrifice wide scan to get a class where you can grab it quick, go ahead. Wide scan seems pretty useless on an nm camped so heavily. Onc e you have a cahnce to close the map, its already taken. So just hope you have enough luck for it to spawn near you.

Sometimes the first group and last group of Rock Lizards will not exist on your widescan depending on where you stand and how big your widescan range is... Respawn time for Rock Lizards is 5 minutes earth time so once you kill a PH, set a 5 min timer. I would recommend that when you are camping LL, go in a party with 2 members, since LL have a chance to spawn either at the upper floor or at the lower one (regardless of which PH was killed...)
With two members you can each take a PH to make it easier to keep track of the pop window for each PH. Happy hunting! I have fought again lizzy about 15 times now and I have not gotten drop yet I will face her at least 10 more times before I give up lol!

Warning! Do not attempt to camp Lizzy if you have a short attention span. Yesterday, I decided I needed the boots for my drg so I headed to Bastok and went to camp her (since i'd just gotten my thf to 15). Unless you are a very very patient person, don't try this. There will always be at least 5 people camping her (most with Wide Scan and Flee) and it usually takes well over an hour and a half for her to re-spawn. Unless you have nothing better to do or are extremely patient, don't bother, your mind will wander (like mine did) and whe she pops, you won't be focused, and will lose her. I camped her all yesterday and a few hours today and got her once without the drop. Finally, I just decided to give up because I was going insane from waiting 2hrs and then losing her.

Well, i kept hearing stories about people claiming they got certain rare items on the first try (Rabbit charm, leaping boots, etc). Before, i thought it was complete BS. Now im a bit more of a believer.
After getting bored killing battering rams in la theine, i decided to try my hand at lizzy camping. I had never camped lizzy before. In fact, it would only be the 3rd NM that i have camped (I camped jack for 2 hours and diddnt see him. And i camped tumbling truffle earlier today.) I had never gotten a good drop when i was camping a nm. I got a robe worth 40k in yughott, but i just accidentally stumbled on that nm. So anywa, i headed over to bastok to change from pld(34)/(1)rng (was farming, and needed wide scan) to war(30)/thf(15). I headed out of the city gates into gustaberg, and with the help of the map on this site, i found the area where lizzy spawns quickly. I killed one regular lizard on the way. I figured i would kill some time while waiting, and kill more regular lizards. I engaged one less than a minute into my stay in lizzie land. Just at that second, i noticed a lerger lizard behind the one i targeted. I noticed the words Leaping Lizzy above its head. Frantically, i tried to decide which would be faster. Disengaging and engaging lizzy? Or just clicking switch targets and targeting lizzy. Of course it was the latter. So, with my hands trembling, i switched over and claimed lizzy just in time. A mages spell was most of the way casted. If i would have hesitated half a second more, i would not be writing this. I killed it in 2 hits. The text scrolled by fast, but i could still tell what dropped. Leaping boots. That was one of the happiest, most surprising times in my entire life. I gave a few encouraging words to the once still camping lizzy and made my way to town to check the price. 300,000 gil. A 300,000 gil item prettymuch just fell into my lap after a minute of "work". I am only lucky *******.

So far, my drop rate is 1/1. I had a PLD/WHM with me that was about my level. I, myself, was a BST/NIN. All we really had in the way of NM hunting was Wide Scan. No provoke, no flee, no treasure hunter.

I'm just posting to say that why are the high levels camping lizzy? there surely must b a better way to get muny than by killing a monster with 1 hit. They shud give others (like me) a chance in getin themselves a pair of leaping boots! I kno that once i got me my leaping boots i sure am not sellin them till i either get Winged boots or AF boots!
If any wants to lend me a hand in getin me my leaping boots i will be entirely grateful as i have now spent over 12 hrs searchin 4 them.
Would also like to point out that the people camping the leaping boots over and over agen are quite possibly the most annoyin and miserable people you will ever meet in this game!

I camped lizzy for the last four days and no drop....all of those lvl 25+ theifs and their flee....DAMN THEM!!!!
Leaping Lizzy is the stupidest NM ever! ok, i didnt mean that, but still, in server Kujata( which i dont know wat Kujata is, if its related to FF at ALL)the boots dont seem to drop at all anymore since the update AND it only appearing every 4-5 hours! wtf, i hear people say it appears every 30 min - 60 min. i am very frustrated with the lizzy... GGRRRRR >_<

The Problem is that people kill these things get the drop and instead of being happy they have to go out and do it over and over and over again. I've been trying to get the boots since February, and I've only even been able to grab the damn lizard twice...yup that's right, twice, People have sent me /tell messages with all kinds of profanity and threats just cause I was in the way of their money flow. So, I gave up and tried mining...same thing everyone had every mining spot camped out and screamed at me for trying to mine their precious ores. People are just too greedy. Many of the people who do this then take the gil they make and "sell" if for real money illegally on sites like ((cannotlinkto)) here is a site that's only existance is to illegally profit from sales of imaginary digital currency in games...
Could I solo Lizzy as a level 15 THF? I'm thinking of doing 15THF/1BST for TH, Wide Scan, and I can charm (even though it will fail) to get aggro.

Does killing the Rock Lizards have anything to do with the spawning of Leaping Lizzy
Just started camping Lizzy yesterday, spending about about 20-30 minutes before getting bored and moving on. Tried again today for about a half an hour, and right when I was ready to give up (always seems to happen at that moment, doesn't it?), Lizzy spawned right next to me. Killed her and took her boots. That simple. Why do people have so much trouble, I don't get it? :P 1/1

I came here 3 hours ago with the intent to post how I was beginning to doubt Leaping Lizzy would even drop the boots. I've been camping Lizzy for about 2 weeks now on Seraph server as my brother's Level 30 THF/RNG. In the past 2 days I've truly become a camper of Lizzy.
0/15 was my record as of 3 hours ago. Now I'm 1/16. FINALLY! After killing Lizzy a total of 8 times in the past 2 days I finally got the boots. For those of you who are lucky enough to get these boots at a 1/1 rate I truly envy you, but for those like me... don't give up. It will happen eventually.
I know patience is a virtue, but DAMMIT mine was tested on these boots. I just hope my friend enjoys using them.

Yeah since i'm madly obessed with leaping lizzy, as you can see, i'll tell you my story. It was about 1 and half weeks ago, before my school let out. I was camping lizzy after i got home for school. Two night ago i had caught her with some help, but i didn't get the boots for myself, cause i lost my lot :_:. So since i had 130k with me i figured, you know what would go great with this cash, leaping boots. so afterward i wait there...my heart is pumping as some jerk says, LOOK IT'S LEAPING LIZZY!<=== remember this cause i rub it into this persons face. CASTERMAN.
So my heart is racing i'm shaking i get this horrible feeling in my stomach. I'm breathing heavily. 20 mins later, BOOM LIZZY POPS. right in front of me, nobody is there just me and her. I aim, throw my boomarang and score! I was soo happy i just wanted to prade leaping lizzy all around South Gustaberg. But my RL friend on the telephone told me, "don't do it! You might d/c and lose leaping lizzy." So i sighed, looked at ms. leaping lizzy and pounded her in 3 hits. So then i looked...Obtained...lizzard tail....awww
Obtained Leaping boots. MY face erupted with joy. I scream soo loud my mother though i was being raped or something. I was shaking and trembling because i knew i had the boots, and as a consulation prize i had that bimbo's tail. Afterward, i bidded my fellow campers a goodbye and fleed away. There i saw that stupid Casterman. I walked up to him and said, "examine me" He was fighting so i waited for him to finish. Once he looked at me his eyes gawked. I said, "Yeah, look at these, leaping boots just for me" He asked me, "OH OH! CAN I GET SOME OF THE GIL COME ON SPLIT IT WITH ME!" I told him, "hello no! GO get your own punk" it's funny how what goes around comes around. From that day on i was a happy thf, till i went broke 4 days later sold the boots, and became an unhappy mithra... :_:. So now i spend 2-3 hours a day camping *sigh* lizzy. oops. well anyway... yeah 10 days ago is when i had the boots last. I killed this bimbo easy as heck 3 hits and dead. umm yeah worth the time, i'm really rich atm with 290k ^^ i'm happy. Thing is lizzy is over camped and i'm 2/3 with her. Umm if you're in fairy sever lizzy is really being a B! She spawns every 2 hours and is not giving drops. She spawns near the fummroles and i really hate that. And yeah i do train mobs and yeah, noobs don't lvl up very often there. Because i gotta kill place holders so lizzy pops and umm thf/rng works if you care to even look at widescan. Trust me it works when nobody is paying attention, but all in all it doesn't work, like if someone is camping and lizzy pop right in front of them wide scan will tell you where lizzy is, just won't get you to lizzy on time. OH yeah to those bums who say "LOOK IT'S LEAPING LIZZY" for shame, i know thf/rng, dummies!!!! Well for those in all the servers gl catching leaping bimbos, and happy camping ^^. Noobs need to lvl up too guys ^^. oh yeah just a fyi leaping has killed me :_: even though i got my revenge, i was outside fight a normal lizzy and boom linked one hit and i'm dead :_: sad story.

oh yeah just an fyi FIRESDAY AND EARTHSDAY AREN'T LEAPING LIZZY DAYS! IT'S RANDOM, I'VE SPENT 9 DAYS CAMPING LIZZY AND SHE POPS MORE OFTEN ON ICEDAY?? WTF??? Depends really on her spawn time. You'll know.. i've spent 9 days straight camping her. 10 min spawns 3 times. Then 30 mins spawns 3 times. 1 hour spanws 3 times. and the ever hating 2hr spawns. Oh yeah and i hate the jp since they sometimes get leaping boots and don't tell you in anyway :_: makes me sad cause then i spend 3 hours....and yeah...just wanted to give you the heads up on the days.
