Fight would have been over if our whm's HP wasn't just outside the Tower. her HPing made the fight won. Lotta people watching, higher ppl wanted us to die for an easy kill, more came in from zoning Banshee's and wights. Pretty exciting. Never leveled off a NM before, was a fun fight, but my fingers hurt from spamming utsusmi and provoke the entire fight. Real slow hitter too, Ninja's dream to tank. Blm died, he got the socks =\

ok this was about 5 months ago
i was lvling offa gigas gettin 150-200 XP with the occasional bad pull but we had just finished a gigas when i hear OMG its a NM!!!!! i thought ok i would check it out i walked up the passage and i saw 30 ppl crowded around the hallway exit saw the nm got a lil closer as soon as i got closer he turned around and aggroed me!!!!! and i was in the middle of a crowd of 30 ppl!!! well i was a whm at the time ( and a poor one at that) so i died in about 3 hits did 100 per hit on me >.< the crowded trampled my corpse i HPed right outside of the tower went in only to c his axe in my face i ran got no aggro luckly,got back with my pty and we lvled offa some more gigas. well we watched more and more and more noobs zone it and the reason i call them n00bs is cause they forgot how to call for help.......
well so we lvled more saw him chase the noobs down the hallway every once and awhile... ahhh it was like watchin a movie!!^^ well when we all got to lvl 25 we thought of trying to kill it so we went lookin for it since we jus saw it we thought it was close but apparently someone actually smart zoned it back into the tower and it musta despawned...... damn....... o well i'll c it agian i though.... sadly i did 2 months later as a lvl 22 pld i did the honorable thing voked it used invincible told pty to zone they did i took it deep into tower and died....... then as i was about to HP i saw a high lvl come slauther it...... after that never seen it agian *sigh*

I killed it with my pt at lvl 24, yay:
(it was just be4 disbanding, cause some people went to kazham).
This is how the PT looked like:
25 WHM / 12 BLM
24 WAR / 12 MNK
25 WAR / 12 THF
24 MNK / 10 WAR (me, yeah untrained SUB)
24 BLM / 12 WHM
23 RDM / 08 WAR (even worse SUB)
I was pulling, untill he pulled me...
In the beginning we were just hitting it, and we soon noticed this was bad. I was told to use Hundred Fist. So ok, I use HF. I turn alot of aggro to myself. After 10 seconds I used HF, a WAR decided Mighty Strikes, he had a sword so he didn't miss much. My HD worked of and so did the MS of the WAR. The whm gave us good curing, which helped us survive a bit longer. Then the ohter WAR used MS. Okay he had a Great Axe and did serious damage a hit. *He missed alot* .
The NM still wasn't down... which scared us all... So the RDM used Chainspell and got too much aggro... We had trouble keeping it at us. Now the NM was down to some more than 1/4... The RDM got aggro back after doing his last spell... He died... This made us think about Calling for help or run. The BLM used his 2hr, I don't know how it was called. Because of all the casting he gained aggro, and there was nothing that could be done... he died too... After us 4 left, getting down to about 20 Hp each, except the WHM, he decided to seal his fate... Benediction... We all got almost fully healed... The whm ran of trying to zone, and telling us to zone, we used provoke like hell but the same... no aggro could be turned toward us... He died while zoning. So the NM turned towards me... The party left was smart and we circle Voked, which means, when i got down to almost death a other one pulled... And when the last person with high HP left voked it, it died shortly after...
I had like 20-40 HP left, so did one of the WAR's.
The last one to voke had round 120-150 left.
Strangly did no warrior die. Neither did I.
And unluckily, I didn't get any of the items. I think one of the WAR's got the socks...
We gained 220 XP I think, but not sure.
We all used our 2hr. This was the first time I saw the whole PT use 2hr.
Killing him was a great-fun-and sad expirience but I know now, what powers GIANTS posses... Great batlle... Sad outcome.

yaya, just killed it (socks and shield) 47 RDM / 12 THF i had no MP and little Hp, so my lv 24 WHM friend help me kill it, (it used its 2hrs mighty Sticks)
it almost killed me (put me down to 30HP and was hitting me at 16-32 Dmg, Critical hits was 50+

I fought him on a exp pull at 24 and got pwnd.
I came back and beat him at 47 PLD solo.

Well there was a high lvl BlackMage attempting to camp this NM while our group was exping in the Area. Once it spawned she tryed to kill it but ended up dieing when the mob was still on 5-10% hp. So our group (lvl 22-24) tryed to kill it and we managed to drop it, but not before we lost 5 of our members (I was the only one to make it our alive).
When it finaly died it droped the Sheild and the Socks.
Cant say i think it was worth it ^_^

I was exping in Delfutt's Tower when i saw this NM....i asked if my party members who were all 22-23 at the time if they wanted to try it and we agreed since most of us had our two hours.
Well Bad idea.....it killed everyone in the party once and two people twice....but luckily for us our Hp's were right outide of the tower and we kept HPing and returning to finish it off....good news we got <Gigas Socks> bad news we were trying to exp and a couple deaths is a big set back.....but i would imagine a party around 30ish would have no problem with this NM...happy hunting

We were fighting gobs (pulling one by one, not all at once, in case anybody wonders)
I noticed someone shouted "Holy$HIT! Epialtes!!!!!" which I had no idea what did he mean.
Then, during the break, we looked around and see a train of players running towards the crossroad. Some headed towards the exit, so we didn't worry about moving, because a few Gigas on their tail wouldn't turn this way, we thought they would go back the same way they came.
Then, some more people ran past with this horrible-looking giant on their tail.....I was like "OMFG what is that!" then I tried to see what levels are those players, if they're low level or near me, I would tell my PT to zone out, because they won't be able to kill it.
If they were very high level, I would have stayed, because they will slay it eventually. Well, they all had their level hidden. But they ran like they khew where they were going, so I thought, "Maybe they are pulling it to kill elsewhere"
So my PT started fighting Gob again.
As when the gob was nearly dead....
This big guy came back!
He walked past my PT's melees, then.....happened to stop in front of me (the mages were in the back line)
I knew I should have run, but I had the duty of curing my PT members because the gob had just bombed. While I was casting my CureII, this Gigas NM(Notorious Meanie) decided to slap me.
I ran, someone provoked......but hell, he just wouldn't turn!
He kept on chasing me towards the exit, and there I died at the conjunctions, just 50 metres away from survival....
My PT managed to escape, though.
I wonder why he hated me so much....

for those playin on VALEFOR, be on the lookout for "shoezon". my party and i (levs 22-24) were campin gobbys near the zone when we ALL agreed to try our luck against this NM that spawned. benediction, 100fists (2x), and eagle eye were used, but we all died. all of us, except "shoezon" the first NC (notorious coward) ive come across, stayed and fought valiantly, leaving the NM with about 20% life. of course, he was cherry picked seconds later in front of our corpses. "shoezon" , who was cowering outside the zone in qufin, just went on and on about the difference between honor and foolishness...
Killed this last night and in addition to gigas socks, he also dropped a maple shield.
just fought it today with a party 22-24, we took about 30 percent of its life before we decided it was much too tough to kill, we all managed to zone from it, but it did manage to kill our resident warrior and white mage. Later I came back in and found that a lvl 60 dragoon had killed it. Pulled this NM on accident, was thinkin it was a regular monster, bad fight, but it was just cool to fight an NM.
niot sure what that sam was fighting but with my 45 nin I massacred this guy. didnt use a single powder either he dealt me maybe 30dmg total. even with mighty. and im jsut wearing carapace gear. he only dropped socks though. meh, easy 2.5k on shiva. oh and he never had a chance to use strikes. and never had to blink.
*edit* fought this guy again, owned him again, he used mighty strikes this time but only connected with it twice for 40 somethin' dmg each. dropped socks again.

Myself (RDM32/NIN14) and my friend (MNK33/THF16) tore this guy up. Got a pair of socks from it, but it was still a fun fight. He used Mighty Strikes at the end, but only connected two or three times (I blinded him). I hardly used any spells on him at all, either. Still had about 50 mana when the fight was over ..
At any rate, it was a nice fight, so if you're looking for a bit of a challenge and something different, search him out. Found him in Lower Delkfutt's Tower, in the room straight ahead from the entrance.

He definately aggros, 41 SAM solo he got me down to 131 HP from 789 used mighty strikes I had to burn my 2h to live,and I HAVE decent gear, he missed a lot but his hits hurt, and he double attacks like a ****.

i fought it today. it was just straight from the entrance down the hallway. no turns...about 400 yrd ahead from just walking in. did mighty strikes and really kicked us around. a party of 25's took it...trouble, but took it. it droped the socks and a maple shield

I cant givs a pos but I can give directions, as I have been waiting for this guy about two weeks, now, just for the thrill of killing it.
As you enter Lower Delkfutt's, make a left. Keep going through that room, NWish, up the stais. At the top of the stairs you can head left again down a corridor that leads to a small circular room that spawns two gigas, and this guy.

My group (25war,26war,24mnk,26war,25whm,25blm) killed it yesterday. It dropped socks and gigas gauntlets. Appeared to use hundred fists as it continually attacked. I'm not sure if it will link with other giants, but other giants definitely link with us as a lobber linked with it and killed the group the first time around.

The NM you fought was not Epialtes as far as I know. I've fought the one you speak of that used hundred fists...it was green and what not, but i don't remember name ><. Spawned on Second floor Right near the stairs left of the entrance of first floor.
Epialtes I have also fought and he is a Big purple guy with a big axe...and there fore wouldn't be able to use hundred fists. HE spawned straight ahead from the entrance on the first floor. The first room you see when you go straight in.

You've obviously never seen Mimas either. Giants don't seem to have a problem swinging Great Axes like the were Beestingers with Haste on.

Epilates Drops The socks but not the armlets. I have killed him on 8 seperate occasions. I have gotten socks everytime. He spawns at the end of the middle tunnel as you walk in. In order to beat him it is reccomended to kill all the other Giants Around so no Linking. I am a 41RDM/20WHM on the Leviathan Server.
definetly be careful, my party faught this NM and the warrior got dropped when it used 100 fists
All 4 times we have fought this guy he has used Mighty Strikes, and not 100 Fists. Just an fyi.

Yes, he does use Mighty Strikes. I know that because it's the first 2HR ability that I've seen a monster use.

My party of 6 decided to fight it. I was the only one surviving... killed it doing 3 dmg each hit and Perfect Dodge... I was lvl 19 THF. Gigas Socks aren't worth it.. -_-
