today I camped lumbering lambert for lets say
4 hours and no POP at all 0_0 I killed about 10~ normal battering rams so I think the ->
4 rams = 1 lumbering lambert is incorrect.
I really need the horn for bastok quest ; ;

heh yeah seems like a lot of mixed up info here. hard to tell what some people are talking about although i can pretty much guess..somewhat...
i found lambert as a lvl 39thf with a lvl 40 blm. needless to say we slaughtered it :) but thats not out of the ordinary..considering we were like 9-10 lvls higher then him *blush*

Earlier today I was running in this area and happend to see him while on my bird. I quickly jumped off to fight him regardless of his lvl. The fight was long and hard. I nearly died 4 times, after he did that move that drops your max HP. I had several people examine me as I fought him, all waiting for me to die and steal him of course. I beat him while using my 2hr. I scored 2 Ram Skins, 1 Ram Horn, and the Lumbering Horn. BTW I'm a 37WHM/15THF. Those of you who whine that you can't farm with your WHM or solo NM apparently can't play your job. WHM has all these enfeebling spells, there should be no excuse why you can't take down NM around Lumbering Lamberts lvl and skill. Unless you just suck and are content with just sitting in parties and casting cure spells all day. You gotta find a way to pay for those expensive spells some how, and charging for ports won't always cut it. ^^

I fought this as a 39THF/19NIN and lost. I got it to around 1/4 hp and it killed me. Had it not been for the Petrification I would have won... Ah well, can solo it now as a 41THF/20NIN or RNG.

I just found him at the NW corner of H-8, in between the two mountain ranges. This is pretty far out of the circle shown on this page.

Was pretty easy to kill with 36THF/36WHM, but a solo would have been damn tough without a SA and 2hr.

He dropped the lambart horn along with the normal skin/horns. It is rare/ex... so only used for Bastok Quest.

I stopped playing this game cause I couldn't find the lambert, till i saw your post. The spawn location on the website for the lambert is wrong, I've been there for like a week never showed up. Thanks for the help and can anyone else post spawn locations please in case he could be somewhere else, thanks.

Well...um. All I can say is this...if you stopped playing the game because you couldn't find one NM, I'd recommend you just stop anyways. This game is no place for impatient people who need to get their way when they want it, how they want it.

A little off topic but in regards to the Whm's sayin Whm job can farm good clearly has never been a damage dealing class. My lvl 21 samurai already outdamages my elvaan whm lvl 31, and im max'd club with a ryl. squire's mace. If you're looking to farm use a dmg dealing job and sub thf or rng, dont try to act all noble and say whm's can farm just as good as any because you are misleading other players.

Now for the Lumbering Lambert, i cant post anything already posted above, he seems to spawn 1/10 B. rams killed and there are 2 B. ram locations that seem to be place holders. He spawned exactly one 1 of the dots shown in spawn range. - As a side note, i seen about 5 lvl 60's - 75 kill bloodtear baldurf in almost same exact spot, I walked up to take a screen shot and got AoE'd evasion down stomp and petri-breathed, I nearly died. :O

I think the anonymous poster was just frustrated and he just wanted to kill him, and not do anything else in the game. He probably either killed him or would try again later by now.

I had my first experience with this today, a 36 WHM/18 SMN, with a Maul and Frost Shield and Full RSE. I was with a 28 DRG with her wyvern, we wqere doin fine until we hit him to half life3 and he used the HP weakness technique and knocked her to 80 life and killed her in one hit, as a WHM i didnt stand a chance, even tho i had full life and mp. Then i noticed something, I WAS WINNING, then he used hp down, and kept bringin g me down, then i died. I went back to hokmepoint in windurst and teleport-hollaed back and raised her, i waited for her weakness to wear off and as soon as she did a 50 WHM stole it with flash. >.< SO UNFAIR THIS IS AT LEAST A LVL 40 MOB

soloed trevor ram in the highlands at lvl 27 war/13 mnk(easy prey with 25 exp) and he took me down to 40 hp (had 501 hp to start). my 2 hr wasn't ready.

the biggest problem the ram has is the attack that causes an effect similar to raise weakness. when it happens pray you kill it quickly

If you wanna take on lambert at 30 i suggest finding a party. lambert has even wiped out lvl 40s largely due to that certain attack that reduces total hp by 3/4
Spawn?
# Feb 13 2004 at 10:57 AM Rating: Decent
One thing you guys have failed to mention is how often it spawns and what causes it to spawn. I do not know this, and i am wondering if anyone has any info of when it spawns. Lumbering Lambert is only a few levels higher than the tremor rams, and the tremor rams are easy to beat. Consider finding out what you're talking about before posting stuff please ^^.

Keep in mind that Lumbering Lambert (Rampaging Ram) are NMs, Tremor Rams are not. NMs are always more difficult than their placeholder counterparts.

Good for you if you can easily down a Tremor Ram (I handily dispatch them with a single Barrage). Lumpering Lambert (Rampaging Ram) is/are far more difficult.
RE: Spawn?
# Feb 17 2004 at 10:20 PM Rating: Default
Lambert is a random spawn. I camed him trying to get the horn (about 5 other people where after the Ram's too). Using my Ranger's Wide Scan & Flee for my Thief I got the 3rd one that popped up within an hour. It did seem like the Rams in La T. spawn a lot faster than the Tremor Rams in Konschat.

La T.: about 5-7 minutes each
K. Highlands: about 10-15 minutes each

Camping for Lambert was easy I would say he pops up about 1 Lambert : 4 Rams

Camping for Rampaging Ram (K. Highlands)... I have never seen him pop. Wasted about 7 hours total for this Ram and I have not seen him

um, i am a lv 39 elvaan whm and solo'd lumbering lampert alone. I did use my 2hr, but I exited the fight with 149 mp, so a divine seal and a cure III could've done the same thing....2hr was unneeded but used as a precaution. You guys are OVERestimating the lampert, as for bloodtear..never saw him, but that would explain why I saw 4 high lv jp players laying in La Theine.

Wanted to convey my Lambert experience today. First, want to emphasize that this is "Lumbering Lambert," NOT Bloodtear Baldurf. Bloodtear requires, at the very least, a party of mid-level 60's.

I am a 30/12 MNK/WAR, soloed Lambert today. Used a mithkabob, 2hour etc.. Had about 75 HP at the end. He has, as far as I can tell, about 2000HP. I hit him about 60 times for an average of 25HP each, plus 3 Combos (500 total).

As a point of reference, I'm moderately equipped for my level, 150 attack (with kabob), 132 DEF.

He always drops the horn, then randomly drops skins etc... (like any ram).

Good luck, all!

Lumbering Lambert, not Baldurf
# Jan 22 2004 at 8:09 PM Rating: Good
So much wrong information. *shakes head*

This is about Lumbering Lambert, not Bloodtear Baldurf. There are TWO NM Rams in La Theine, don't mix them up.

Lumbering Lambert was pretty easily beat by a 36DRK/1RNG and 36WHM/18BLM today (my friend and me). It gave 5EXP. I'll let you figure which level he is.
Lampert and Baldurf
# Jan 18 2004 at 9:30 AM Rating: Decent
Lampert is about 27-30, that would be a 'decent' con to another 30, and most 30's can take him. Baldurf however is what the JP's like to call an HNM (Hard NM, go figure), basically means there is just about no way to solo him. Another good example of this is the Selbina-Mhuara boat Sea Horror.

From mild research I've found that Lampert doesn't drop anything of value like some are lead to believe, Baldurf is the holder of the famed Strider Boots, NOT Lampert. Lampert is for the Purple Belt quest, find and slay him, JPs will kill it on sight though, just for the hell of it.

HNM stands for High Gaurd Notorious Monster, just thought I'd like to correct that
RE: Lampert and Baldurf

And let me correct you by saying that HNM stands for Hyper-Notorious Monster.

RE: Lampert and Baldurf
# Feb 28 2004 at 8:05 PM Rating: Decent
Most likely a Sea Monk....IMPOSSIBLE for a whm to solo even at lvl 75

I was running back to Sandoria with my 28 WAR and a saw baldurf, so being a dumbass I say to myself, oh great a NM ram, I'm gonna take him! He killed me in 2 hits, lmao, about 230-300 per hit.
the baldurf?!
# Jan 17 2004 at 12:56 AM Rating: Default
i saw a baldurf and a lumbering lambert, i was a 30 drk, i did the lumbering lambert, killed it, pretty tough enough, then when fully healed tried the baldurf, killed in like 4-5 hits not sure, nobody should solo the thing at lvl. 30, get a lvl. 60 and let him do it, he should kill it, i saw a lvl. 60 and blm and a war to keep its attention of course kill it, all lvls 60s, killed it in like 5 mins, i was watching it from by death view, after battle whm reveived me, it was a english talking ***, he said that the baldurf was very hard, that the war was hitting it for like 40-70 dmg, he said that the blm killed it, i hope to get my revenge!!!!
bloodtear vs. lambert
# Jan 14 2004 at 8:01 AM Rating: Default
it's simple.

bloodtear is a lvl 60+ mob.

lambert is about 27-29.

battering ram is 22-24.

it just keeps going up.

they're all different.
RE: bloodtear vs. lambert
# Jan 16 2004 at 12:35 PM Rating: Default
Ok let me get this straight. A level 27-28 cannot be killed by someone of greater level? I need to kill both Lumbering Lambert and Rampaging Ram and Im 30thf/10nin. I am a higher level, but I cant take them?? Are these sheep as hard as you make them sound?
RE: bloodtear vs. lambert
# Feb 05 2004 at 4:51 PM Rating: Default
You should be able to kill lambert at level 30 as long as you have Utetsumi:Itchi if you don't go do quest for it cuz it's required of a Ninja to have. don't even look at bloodtear though he'll whip you up.
Yeah.
# Jan 14 2004 at 1:20 AM Rating: Default
There is no way in hell that 27-30 is right. I saw him when I was lev 18 and he did 232 damage to me. I watched a lev 54 warr almost die trying to kill him. and, hees a huge sheep and when you get near him the screen shakes when he walks.
RE: Yeah.
# Apr 04 2004 at 3:56 AM Rating: Decent
he hit you that hard because it is a NOTORIOUS MONSTER and it is also A RAM!!!

k, is this page about the bloodtear baldurf or or the lumbering lambert?
i killled the lambert when i was a lvl. 30, had the best armour, and the best weapon, centurion's axe or somethin like that.
it lowered me to 100 hp when i killed it.
the blooodtear killed me in a couple lets say 4 hits, and my wyvern as welllowered it to half its hp, had to keep on using super jump, and i was killling all the monsters around the area so that i would have 300 tp, so i could have used penta-thrust, that attack lowered it alot!
