me a lvl 54 RDM soloed him. i used stonekin phalanx refresh haste blink protect III and shell II.
before he made stoneskin wear off i recasted and dropped the old one didnt even lay a scratch on me
he finally hit me though =_= dimensional death did about 80 dmg. not too bad the WHM has rdy to cure if i got him he gave me a Cure II i buffed up and took him down ezily
got the tavnazia pass and i shut a lvl 63 RDM up who said i couldnt do it. shows him =P if u dont believe me =) send tell on alexander server u will see im a lvl 54+ RDM

Its a Katar. Not sure if they're in FFXI for character equip however.

As you may have heard about the man slauter be carful. Some WHM that are getting thier AF wep may do this for fun. They'll force spawn him and run. My bro's friend brother's pt got slater by his arrows. The arrows came out of nowhere. So becarful by secret beach.

someone let this guy lose and it was slaughtering people left and right at the secret beach while we were leveling in gustav tunnel, after zoning goblinsavior we ran into this guy waiting for us outside the zoneline standing over a pile of level 18 bodies. we decided to fight it and it was actually pretty easy with a level 41 party, i was tanking and he didn't hit very hard and i was dong some nice damage on him. it was a fun fight.

Yes, yes i know. Our puller was a lvl 14 THF. No sub. He was a real moron. he pulled a leecher past a butcher and then an ambusher poped at camp.
He came to zone... and didn't aggro me.
On saturday July 10th, he came to selbina zone (I never saw who zoned it)... I was there leveling my sub (14blm), waiting for a party... I thought he was a PC until i checked him and realized he was a NM.
I felt tempted to attack, but since he looks real cool.. he probably was real high, too. So I got a closer look and examined him at less than 2 meters distance.
He didn't aggro me at all. I saw him getting attacked, though... and his named went to purple and then to yellow again in less than 5 secs... he killed every attacker with one single arrow.
I stayed to his side for about... 5 minutes.. looking how he killed every attacker, but sometimes he was yellow and there were like 6 guys peacefully around him.. no one died.
Then he slowly started walking away from zone. When going through the 'door' (if you can call it that), somebody attacked him and asked for help. A lot of people started falling, and I decided to play it safe... considering his name was in orange, i thought that maybe he would consider me a part of the group at sometime. But i'm pretty sure he got the time to kill me, and he didn't.
Either this NM was updated to not to aggro anymore... or I got real lucky... or he just doesn't attack cute red-haired mithras from windurst.

I'm a lvl 50 WHM and me and my friend Exo (A 54 DRK) and a Pally I asked to help (lvl 65) took care of it with me healing.
Though the PLD couldn't keep the hate, the DRK was doing too much damage =P
Marchelute is the NM for the White Mage AF1, you get the quest from the White Mage in the Cathedral on the third floor in Sandy.
WARNING:
It likes to use Mighty Strikes, and unless you're a PLD with a lot of DEF and you got a whm spamming CURE III's or a Cure IV it could get ugly... But I managed to keep their lives at acceptable lvl's ^^
btw, the AF1 is a weapon, which isn't all that great really... but it's a fun fight.

Yeah, I'll believe that a 54 drk can pull hate off of a 65 pld when pigs fly outta my a**!!
A: Drk's don't start doing "insane damage" until lvl 60.
B: Pld at that lvl with full AF has +8 enmity, a single voke will gain him hate for pretty much the whole fight with a 54 drk.
C: Must have either been a very retarted pld, or not really trying in the least to keep hate. Probably fearing death, cause at that lvl xp is insane tnl.

While mr 5 posts, NM's are a lot stronger than equal level monsters of their respective levels.
And if you dont beleive that then go fight the emporer at lvl 31.

i was in the dunes camping the emperor and spaming widescan, like any self respecting ranger would, when i saw it at the bottom and i was like "...what is that?" so i told my partner i was gonna go check out something and i'd be back. then i see a party running after this elvaan and i was like "wtf?!" and i check to get the impossible to guage thing and im like "oh hell yeah." so i bust out flee and dart past them all and engage it. the very first hit did me for 148 dmg. at that point i decided i just might possibly need a little bit of help. so i ask my partner to come and next thing i know when i look back it him....im staring down the shaft of an arrow. i proceeded to calmly lay down in the sand and pretend to be dead. when the others engaged it i saw a call for help and damn near 20 people showed up and started dropping like flies. after it finally got killed i was raised 1st and looked out to see its treachery. that was soo cool.

I once Saw Marchelute, I was level 18 or 19 and in the Secret Beach leveling in a PT to get to level 20 so I could go get my Chocobo. I was walking into the trees trying to find a pugil for the PT to kill when all of a sudden I get hit for over 100 damage. I stop and look around and see this elvaan standing there and he takes another shot and it misses, all the time I'm thing what the hell conflict isn't out yet. Then my PT says it's a NM and tell me to zone so I run to the tunnel and zone. Then Marchelute turned on the Dragoon. the Dragoon started running for selbina and luckily the PT that was there for him appeared and started fighting him. I guess I got lucky to survive but I did live to fight again.

I screamed like a girl when I first saw him.And that pass was somethign Quest related I think?
I was camping the Valkurm Emperor when I was asked to help a WHM with his AF1; well, the emperor just spawned and I didn't get it so I thought, "why not." It was the WHM (I'm guessing was 41), a 60 BLM, a 58 SAM and me a 56 RDM. Needless to say we slaughtered it. I could have solo'd it if I wanted.

god i noe how u feel this guy just came into the valkurm dunez entrance and killed alot of noobs it was sooo funny till then he look at me ...then BAM ..twice knock..out..then i went bac 2 my hp again...dead..i was like WTF!..so i log off and then sum otha guy killed him..i was like yes finnally.........this guy is sum1 u dun wan mess wit unless u got a pt..4 him

I am yet another victim of this guy. I was camping golden bat when I saw 2 guys running toward me. They were fighting another player and I thought to myself "Man that's weird. Didn't think you could do pvp in Valk" Then one guy zoned and the other stayed and kept fighting. Well it wasn't long before I found out it wasn't another player. He smoked the guy fighting him then turned on me. BAM 235 BAM ranged 135 BAM 244 and Im toast. Word to the wise......you ever see a dark elf in Valk..........RUN FOR YOUR WORTHLESS LITTLE LIFE!
What if this thing killed a party and then some n00b aggroed it and brought it outside... mwuhahaha, it would kill all the n00bs in valkurm dunes and then they'd learn to be a bit more cautious!

This happened again on Ifrit last night. Reportedly from my LS, nobody in the area could take it down, and it slaughtered the entire zone. Somebody called for help and brought it around, and everybody -did- help.... The poor fools never had a chance. Member from my LS reported -three- people in Valkurm at some point. I don't know how it all ended.
Aw, man...there are so manny n00bs in Valkurm Dunes...some level 5 monk wanted to party up with me. Ended up running for his life when this guy showed up.

I reccomend reporting Icabod to a GM. It might seem funny to him, but it's frustrating to other players who are there to level up. You were new once too. Would you have laughed in glee as you got your butt kicked by this NM? I think not.

In all honesty, it doesnt make too much of a difference..we fought him on Darksday due to our Paladin running late..I was scared as all hell as to what sort of fury he was going to unleash on our party..but really, he was a big wuss.

Nobody used their two hour.
Marchelute's special only did about 70-100 dmg to our pally :) -- thats why we won. When March hit me, his ranged did over 200 damage. I'm scared to see what his special would have done to wimpy ol' WHM me.

I had 100% TP at the start of the fight, had the PLD use cover, then did Sidewinder -> Barrage -> Eagle Eye Shot -> Sidewinder for all its health. Took under a minute. ^^
