Vana'diel Bestiary: Mee Deggi the Punisher  

I was camping this nm last night on a friends character with about 5 gillsellers and 3 people that arent gillsellers, after about 20mins of camping a mnk that wasnt a gillseller asked if i wanted help with a link i got, we started talking and became friends (if only temperaraly). after a while longer he spawned and i got pull just as happygirl and kuk came running, while i was fighting him the gillsellers were praising mee degee (as a 50drk this would be a close fight), when i was at about half health a pld that was watching me cast cure 3 on me and continues to help me while i fight and while i was fighting i got numerous tells from spectators wishing me luck on getting the kote, despite the fact i didnt get the kote this was one of the best fights i ever had & i hope to get the kote next time i camp him (im currently 0/2 on drops but 2/2 on pulls ^^) (later i found out that the pld that hepled me was a friend of the mnk i was talking to) i know i use the term "gillseller" loosely but they have been there every time iv been past that room, and praised mee degee and did a ^^ when i told them i didnt get the drop. but for refernece the gillsellers in this area on carbuncle cant pull for anything (in my experience)

Sorry for the long post but i felt like telling my story.

well i havent spent a lot of time camping this NM, but while im there i get some D silk drops from the crawlers. any-who ill get to the point, i got to the area i saw the gil sellers in a group looked like the just killed the place holder, and then they left!! yes they were gone, just me and one of my friends. well we were killing crawlers for the heck or if and then out of no ware Mee comes randomly over to me and so i switch targets quick and i also had a train on my a$$, Blizzga II took care of that. Mee uses Hundred Fists, couldnt land a hit :)) and the O kote drop i was soo happy.

i didn't find this place in oztroja, someone could tell me where is exactly?

I got this idea after accidentaly grabing the place holder when I arrived and someone telling me not to kill this mob and I was like huh!? until i realized i had the place holder and I stoped hitting it and had the gilsellers chase me around the little tower for several minutes with the placeholder agrro on me
until I killed it since i had just arrived I also wanted to camp the nm so recorded TOD and killed.

Ok, i have spent 3 weeks camping Mee Deggi the Punisher and quu domi. On my server, we have an over abundance of gil sellers... its insane. BUT i have figgured out exactly how they know when to flee and when he is going to spawn.. naturally, i hate gil sellers, so will tell everyone in the world how to beat them to all the nm's that they camp that i have learned so far.

Fisrt off, this guy has ONE placeholder. It can either be a Yagudo Interragator, Yagudo Drummer, or Yagudo Herald.... It will NEVER be an Oracle. So, what does this help, since there are lots of yagudo's running around. If you seriously want to camp him, just hang out at the top and watch all of the yagudo's movements. One will move all over the place and walk where ever he pleases. It's easy to spot him when he walks up the front of the platform, since no other yagudo in the area move in that same fasion. Also, if he's not walking up the tower at the exact second (which he rarely has a chance to when im there, so i dont know his exact movements), you can spot him by the area he walks in. All of the yagudo in the area walk in pretty much a circle. The one yagudo that is the placeholder will not walk in a circle, rather erradic movements that follow no pattern, and he wanders all over the place. I'm sorry i cant explain it more, you would have to be with me to see what im talking about..

Next.. the spawn interval. Once you find the single placeholder for this nm, you have to kill him of course. So, how do you know when the placeholder or Mee Deggi will spawn next? You have to take the game time (/clock) the exact second you kill the placeholder.. then you add 5:07 (5 hours 7 minues game time or 12 minutes 11 seconds real time) to the exact game time that his name turns grey(death). so, if you killed the placeholder at 2:08 game time, the next possible time that either Mee Deggi the Punisher, or his placeholder will spawn will be 7:15 on the game clock.

It helps to kill all the yagudo in the area after you've determined which is the placeholder.. but wait a minute after you have killed the placeholder to kill the rest of the yagudo so you know exactly which is the placeholder when it spawns. The times that yagudo spawn does not vary, and since hes a lottery pop on that one placeholder, this will give you a HUGE advantage knowing exactly when it could possibly spawn.

Another thing is the gil sellers... well, cant do anything about them, and they all use this exact method if they are in castle oztroja camping mee deggi or quu domi. theres nothing you can do about this unless you want to invest insane ammounts of time to having them banned (like me).. and chances are, if you see them there, they have already killed the placeholder.. BUT, when they flee (if they have flee) they will all (if theres more than 1.. most of the time there is) jump on one yagudo and kill it as fast as possible. that yagudo will most likely be the placeholder, because they wont waste flee for anything.

ADDED: I forgot to mention, the placeholder spawns just like the NM... All over the place... there's no telling where he will spawn.

What lvl do you need to be to get there, kill the yags and the NM? I'm a 41 MNK can i do it?

Solo'ed this bad boy as THF42/RNG21, even had an add pounding on me. But, yea, it was scary, basically need to plug those acid bolts and blind bolts first, then bloodys all the way. When it uses Hundred Fists, hit Perfect Dodge or he will tear you a new *******. As long as your bloody bolts keep hitting, you shouldnt have too much problem as a THF42.

Oh, and be careful, things still aggro at the spawn point at this level.

Haven't gotten my kote yet, but I plan on getting this soon, I'll be using the capital to set up Clothcraft to profitability.

on my server since the gilsellers got kicked ive been almost the only one hunting him ive gotten him 4 times already im 0/13 but still trying was there today and killed all the yags in room in sitting on the pedastool resting and he pops i disnt see him for a good 3 mins i tell my ls im leaving castle and there he is i chi blast his @$$ and of course no drop just those crapy *** knuckles......just thought id share that.
ps. the place holders r probally the yags that step in the water and if u pull them there it wont work

can beat this NM like 7times in arrow...but no drop only the danm Knuclkes ....i just want more rate too drop the kote....so th1 help or not???

Maybe it's just me but I thought this guy used to spawn only in the little center thing in the middle of this area, but I went there today to camp, after having not been here for a few months, and now he's spawning near the outside of the area. Not like it matters, I never used to get him before anyway...

I'm now 5/29 on this NM. But i was wondering if anyone knew the place holder. I'm pretty sure it's either the Heralds or the Interigators. But I'm not exactly sure. Anyone know, care to share?
