Does anyone have the Info on the update? Apparently they changed spawn information for Mee Deggi and Quu Domi in the Aht Urghan update, any idea what they did?

1st off.. i dont know much about this NM, but i got tired of pt members asking "why dont u have O Kote and Fuma Kyahan" -.- stfu.. i actually camped this **** and got a nada..5 spawns, i got every claim(hehe the other ppl camping were getting pissed) every time it spawned it poped near the inlet of water in the corner. idk but just to be on the safe side, have a buddy stay on the lil tower and kill the place holder. BTW he will most likely use 2h. 900ish/1200 HP 52 MNK/galka

ROFL omg are you in 5th grade!

but anyways, just a hint for ya'll, im on ps2 and i got so fed up with these hacks and GM's doing nothing about it when its staring them in the face. I did some research and it wasnt easy to find. Im not giving specifics because i dont want people to start doing it.

Here's what they are doing. Packet sniffers, nah way too much info to decode, translate and actually do something usefull with it. It's not like packets about nm's and placeholders come in 5 mins early and programs have tons of time to figure out where to go to. BUT every widescan list always contains the same order. If something was killed, it goes back in that slot on widescan. And instead of a placeholder popping, the nm will pop in that same position on the widescan list (common knowledge i know). Well knowing this, its actually very easy to find a PH or NM WHEN it pops, not before it does. Ever try putting a mob on /follow? Now using flee before pop time, having a program to loop scanning for that mob on the list, and /follow, now you got that nm or ph on lockdown.

Sound pretty familiar to what is happenening on your servers? And yes, just because you are not rng/, /rng, bst/, /bst, it doesnt mean that the list is not there always and currently updating. think of it as a online zone inventory that you can access with those jobs, but the list is always there. And since each mob in the zone has a specific spot on the list, it also has a specific ID number (hint hint).

So ID number, loop scan, /follow while spamming voke. This is what we are up against. How you can beat this? Just pick the 2 areas that the nm seems to pop the most. Let the gilsellers kill the placeholders and listen for their flee sounds. They will never mistake a PH pop time. When you hear that flee sound, get ready, sit tight in that spot and hope it pops in front of you. This has been my only method to getting claims and it seems to work quite well since they have to be in voke range, but you are already there if it pops in that area. Mee tends to pop 70% of the time if you're on the bridge looking down it, just off to the left, stand there and you have a great chance.

And again btw, im on ps2, cant use hacks even if i wanted to, i just did some research to figure out how they are doing it so i could devise my own strategy on how to beat them, and this seems to work the best.

Good luck!
Spawn times and encouragement.

I'm interested as to how often the NM mob pops because I have a close freind of mine that seeks the O.Kote for his monk job.

Now, I did have my first and bad experience with a gilseller on Kujata, then two when I tried to go for the Jujitsu Gi a 2nd time. After some thinking, and calming down (i was FURIOUS) I came up with a strategy; by outnumbering the GS that were camping the mob which contained the Gi, much like what was meantioned in the earlier posts here. A word of advice too....NEVER commuicate with a GS. I made that mistake when she/he asked if my freind, who was helping me at the time, was around. I said he was and before I know it another GS shows up. My bad, lesson learned. I sure as hell wasn't going to give up but unfortunately and with luck from a family member who also plays FF, gave his Jujitsu Gi to my freind. Its nice to know peeps^^.

I'll get to the nitty gritty too....we are all hard-working players on this game, its time to take back our game and what we pride ourselves in after a hard days work. This game is "community based" right? Its time we started acting like a community and and show thes GS and RMTs what for!

In any case if you guys could tell me the spawn times of the NM it would be greatly appreciated.

Im on Pheonix also and those same bastards, that the guy below me named are there 24/7. Although i cannot prove yet they are bots, as soon as i do, GM time baby. I have been camping this thing since i was lv 50 and i dont lv that much, so i guess it's been about um.... lets say 3 or 4 months and i have not had one oull on this ******
These bastards that camp this thing 24/7 need to banned from the zone because this is rediculous. Every time im there the same people pull it every time. I was so close one time i hit my Chi Blast macro and all of the sudden this *** hole named Aboba just appears right in front of it and gets the pull. >.< i cannot tell how frustrating this is. So if any one on Pheonix is reading this send me a /tell and we will pull this damn NM from these gillsellers.

No matter what it is there is nothing that cannot be done. If one mannifest the determination, he can move the heavans and the earth as he pleases. But because man is prideful he cannot set his mind to it. Moving heaven and earth without putting forth effort, is simply a matter of concentration.

Having read through the posts for a strat to camping this NM and his friend, and finding more about RMT problems than strats, I thought I would take a look and see for myself.

I head to Castle O and do a /sea I find a few names I recall from days when I used to camp these guys back when I was a yougster. Was suprised to see they still there, using same tactics, and still seeming to "appear" next to the NM before I even new it popped.

However, now they have friends. And lots of friends. On Siren these 2 NM (Och Kote and Fuma) are camped by 8 players minimum at any one time. Thats 8 players TOGETHER. Add on anyone, like me, who is trying to outcamp the RMT and you got a busy little area.

For those who care, the RMT on Siren (at this spawn only) are Huanlin, Littergirl, Twistedsunburst, Phine, Mamishi, Ermua, and Hamaru (those are just the ones I can recall - and whilst not all may be blatant RMT, they all help each other to beat regular players, and they all seem to be psychic and super-human at the game).
For those that dont care about the RMT, well thanks for being apathetic and allowing RMT to flourish. (Apathy = not caring enough to make the effort)

Anyways, I continue to attempt to camp. I wait, look for PH (always beaten to it by 1 of the above) and take up a position in the hope of getting lucky. No point running around as, at spawn window, you have 1 on each corner, 2 on the centre, and 1-2 running around the water. Sometimes 1 or 2 will head off to the other NM spawn, no idea why.
So I wait, and I wait. I happen to have Twistedsunburst targetted, when suddenly he vanishes from my screen. He was about 3-4 feet (relatively speaking) in front of me. I TAB around, and find him about 30 feet away, engaging Quu Domi. Hmmmm. Strange. This was no more than 2 seconds.
So I head back to Mee Degi, and camp there. Hour or so passes, still watching the RMT pick 1 single Yag, kill it, then return to stationary positions for 10 minutes. Mee Degi pops about 15 feet in front of me. Purple. I watched the Yag form, I watched the name form. And I swear it was purple before I could even read it properly on my screen. Litterfish this time proceeds to fight. Where the hell she came from I dont know, last I saw she was standing on the other side of the room, not moving.

So, the moral is this. Yes, people whinge about the RMT. And with good reason. Yes, people respond by saying its the Gil BUYERS that are at fault. But if I could get an Och Kote myself, would I be feeling sorely tempted to hit IGE for the gil?
RMT affects everyone. Like it or not. And SE will do NOTHING about it.
I reported what I had seen, and I commented on the fact that these players were in Castle O almost 24/7 for months on end (Huanlin and Litterfish seem to head off to Kuftal Tunnel in between pops for Phantom Tathlums). The reponse from the GM was that "Camping a NM for any length of time is not a violation, unless they use unfair means to do so". When I mentioned the amazing abilities of certain players, I was asked for proof. Huh!? Other than using a 3rd party program myself, and probably getting banned for it, I have no way to provide "proof". And the GM taking an hour to respond to my call means they are never there for the event either.

Look... seriously... the EASIEST way to get this NM is bring 3 people... Yes three, on Leviathan O Kote is 3.6m so thats 1.2m per person. Station one... UNO, UN, 1, person near the pond. ONE person behind the bridge running back and forth between the two corners, and have a third person run around the water's edge.

Use Flee 1 game minute AFTER spawn, this will give you a slight advantage if PH pops late.
Lately, the PHs/NMs have been popping ~14 game minutes earlier than they should be...

My friends and I are still working on what makes these guys drop... the RMT use everything you're NOT supposed to do, and they still get drops.

We've tried it all... we fought exactly as they do...

Im ~1/16 on Quu Domi and about 0/13 on Mee Deggi

We can't get drops... we have THF55/WAR27 THF56/WAR28 and WAR51/THF25

If you want to beat the RMT, and you don't really want to camp these, go to Jeuno, shout for ppl who are bored and wanna tick off RMT, and ask for free teles. My friend got a full alliance + some extra ppl to camp these mobs for a few Hours. The RMT then logged, and we had the place to ourselves.

if you are trying to camp this NM on titan server, if you see Aake, Arrik, Rivecent and Leegoe, dont bother. They all use 3rd party proggramming to auto locate NM, flee and voke claim. Rivecent has been seen with speed that of double flee. Ive notified GM's but they aren't gonna do anything about it. They must be getting a kickback from these Gil Sellers. Unish sells item for Aake and Arrik.

Claiming this NM
# Mar 14 2006 at 8:25 AM Rating: Decent
The easiest way ive found to successfully claim either Punisher or Gallant, cause it works the exact same way for both. Ive been successfull with using Wide Scan, so have gone as THF/RNG. In Wide Scan, if you scroll close to the bottom, once you have passed the set of 5 cutters, then next 2 mobs are the ones on the platform and the PH is the mob right after those 2 and normally above a Conquistidor (think that is right spelling). For the Punisher the PH are either a Interrogator or Drummer and for Gallant PH is either a Herald or Oracle. Respawn timers on these mobs are 12 minutes from ToD and NM respawn can be as soon as 1 hour from ToD. For people who dont want to use Wide Scan, i havent successfully figured out a way to master a technique, but if you know ToD of PH, then you know around what time to start looking around for the NM. I have managed to beat the GS, so it is possible. I am on the Titan server. By the way NM can pop anywhere in the grid location, so be on your toes. As far as claim macro, i use flee and claim macro is MUG when i run right into him. Hope this helps some of you out, Happy Hunting.

I have been reading through the posts here, and I can't seem to find any info on the actual wait period between killing Mee Deggi, and the time that the place holder pops.

Some of the posts seem to say two RL hours, others seem to say one. I have never camped an NM before. Frankly, I hate standing there doing nothing for forever just to be beaten by someone else. However, I want these, and I decided I would try camping instead of buying for once.

So, as I said, any help is for a beginner NM camper is appreciated.

btw, I am using my 71pld/20thf to camp this.

Ok.... heres the ****** low down on Mee Deggi and Quu domi, Mee Deggis PH's- Interrgators/Drummers, Quu Domis PH's- Heralds and Oracles, ok, there are ALWAYS 2 yags in each corner, unless some dumbass kills the yags, but ne ways, the PH spawns every 5 game hours or 12 mins from the last TOD of that PH for that room,
Has a 1h Respawn window, for each NM, 1h wait then you gota look for the PH, Mee deggis normal Spawn area is... the Lake and the front, and Quus is Lake, Say for instance mee spawns in its normal Spawn area, Quu will do the same, It doesnt always do that but, it usually does if the NM dies, and the others time is close to poping, Well, hope this helps, Btw, im 5(drop)/33(claim)on Deggi and 5(claim)/23(claims)on Quu

the gil sellers camp different now that they changed him. they used to flee on every window but now they dont giva damn about the PH's. the bots they use hook directly to the NM. its near impossible to claim since they got 2-3 chars in the couryard running the same bot. so do the math. only way to do it is if he spawns really close to you

dude i totally agree with u people need to quit whining about the gil sellers here.i was there for a while learing what to do. I gotta say there were tons of people there, most probably sellers. This NM is so ******* easy to claim. If you cant claim 1/3 spawns u should seriously be ashamed of yourself. I got 20/23 claims with 12 ppl camping i only got 2 drops :(. and quu omfg i got 27/34 claims and 7 drops. i made around 25mil off them which payed for my hauby+1. but anyways stfu about gil sellers yeah i hate them but i dont need to be reminded anout them everywhere i go. If you want to do somthing quit whining and get ur asses busy and start camping this NM and get the gil sellers to leave. DONT post **** about it whining "OMFG gil sellers everywhere; ;" Post the PHs and the spawn times and help us non sellers get them.

I agree with the fact that people complaining about the GS isn't improving their chances of getting the claim or the drop; however, neither is complaining about them complaining. If you can get the claim on the NM's so regularly, then why don't you help them by explaining your strategy, that way they won't have to complain about the GS, they can beat them. Instead of complaining, take the initiative and help somebody for once. For example...for those who don'tknow the placeholder,it is the yagudo that is out of place. Only 2 yagudo's are supposedto pop in each location, so their will be 2 yagudo's with the same name near each other. Also, the placeholder is called a "jesus" bird, which means that instead of walking through the water, it walks on it. Also, he only pops in 1 hour intervals and he doesn't pop exactly 1 hour after death, the more you kill the PH, the more likely he is to pop near the hour mark. This is the information that I have been able to gather thusfar, just from watching here and there, as well as people in my LS talking. As I get more info, I'll be sure to post it. And if any of the info is wrong, take the initiative to post a correction. This will benefit all of us...well except maybe the GS's.

I'd like to agree with Mr. Retardattict.

On Kujata server a bunch of CGS that have names starting with "Jl" camp Mee Deggi and Quu Domi all the time. They, of course, use a 3rd party program to track the PH/NM and know when and where to Flee to.

However, they are not invincible. Since I wanted to level SAM so badly, I decided to go after Mee and Quu; Mee for the O. Kotes and Quu so I could sell the Fuma and make a little money back. I started camping this past Friday and earlier today I was 0/7 on Mee and 0/5 on Quu, with TH2 (I blame my horrendous luck).

But the point is that the CGS are not perfect. During the late hours of Saturday night, I got 5 Mee/Quu in a row, and they Jl's weren't happy about that. ^^;

Anyway, here is the summary:

Summary: You can beat the CGS on your server to Mee Deggi and Quu Domi easily.

"Omg we cant camp this cause gilsellers do guys!!!".

They (the gs's) LOVE this train of thought. What makes it easier to claim an NM than lack of compitition? 90% of the population on EVERY server refuses to camp this, and only complain about it, because of the gilsellers.

Well... it IS possible to camp this. very possible. me (NIN/WAR and a THF/NIN) camped Mee and Quu tonight, coming out of it with 1 Kote and 1 Fuma. I'll admit, i even suprised myself with some of the claims i got. (3/4 on Quu) i really didnt think i would get them, i expected a gilseller to fly in at light speed and take my claim, but the fact remains I GOT IT. the easiest way to camp is by having flee... obviously. So..

"omg!!! i need to lvl thf?!?!" nope. Powder Boots. 50k. Buy it you cheap *******. Use 1game min before pop. Then u run around in a circle in the water, checking the outside land. When you see Mee Deggi the Punisher, haul *** to him and preferably use Provoke/Charm/Shadowbind/ect.

Even without provoke, the thf in my pt got cliam with STEAL! that means he had to be within arms reach of the nm before he could use ability... camping this nm is very possible.

How to tell which is PH? For Mee Deggi the ph will be drummer/interrogater. and for Quu Domu it will be Oracle/Herald. The placeholder CAN pop in water, but so can normal mobs. The best way to tell placeholder is.. watch the gilsellers lol theyre never wrong (almost). 2nd best way is to find the mob that is out of place. ex. 2 interrogaters are next to eachother.. one of them is ph. whichever doesnt follow the normal yag-movement pattern is the ph. kill it. then wait 5 game hours......

The NM doesn't exactly have to pop at the 5 game hours later mark. it can pop between 5:00 game hours later, and 5:07 game hours later. then just run around looking for NM. if you get lucky enough to see it before gilsellers... good job, you win. if not? try again 1 hour later. btw, killing it 11minutes before the 1 hour mark after Time of Death DOES seem to help it spawn on first possible time, this is not proven, but is back by enough experience for me to post it.

Good luck camping, beat those RMT's, theyre not as good at camping as you give them credit for.

First off, i would like to commend you on making this guide, as it will help many people.

But depending on the server, this is probably the worste thing to do. Im assuming the gilsellers on your server don't use Packetsniffer, which gives them a fast break at the NM first.

*To Others*

If the Gilsellers use Packet Sniffer on your server, i would suggest standing in 1 single spot waiting for claim. Flee also gives a nice advantage if the mob is a little bit aways.

I nice strategy i use, is to clear your area out around you of all the mobs. Then make a /targetnpc macro, if you see Mee/Quu simply press the macro and he's your.

Wrong. Wencent uses a packet sniffer, and used to use warp too, for a while. The way i described was how i used to camp, now i stand in one area and watch two spawns (usually), if it spawns there... yay. if not? what else is new, he gets it. Lately ive had about 10 ppl a DAY on my server, camping, so even Wencent misses most claims now lol. no dinner for him.

Im on Hades server and you want to camp.. names Chubbs. Hopefully my guide helps.

Good luck camping guys
