Just a quick word on spawn time.
I killed Nue with no drop, and stayed at the tower to level my NPC and collect tiger fangs, expecting a 2-4hr wait for respawn. Nue popped again after about 50-60mins. And i got the drop :)
So its worth sticking around.

me personally im 1/2 my brother 1/3, its not a hard NM to camp 3/5 total camps that we did we got him to pop out right away after the first kill of the place holder. first drop we had mnk/thf and whm/thf both level 50 and second drop was whm/thf and mnk/dnc. we had to camp for two fangs because my brother needed the blet and i needed the gil lol gl to you guys he is not as camped as most think
Just killed him as 75 THF/NIN. He dropped both black tiger fang and nue fang
1/1 on him. Took about 90 min to spawn. Didnt use SA or WS (was worried about getting claim.) It was iceday and ice weather at around 2330 game time. Waxing moon 21%.

I'm currently 0/6 on him. Not so bad comparing so others that I see. I really can't wait until I get it so I can get out of the area (i'm not leaving the area until I get it lol)
I was 1/1 with Deadly Dodo and all I was really doing was farming silver beastcoins. Ran into him and killed for fun. This was when I wasn't leveling monk.
I'm a little afraid of getting the last item, thanksfully its 100% but its getting the claim and time of death that is bugging me now.
Edit: I am 1/9. I was fortunate enough to have no one else camping him.. for almost 4 hours. I got him 3 times in a row and finally got fang on the 9th kill.

Ugh I am dreading this..... I already have all the Black belt items, which I think were easier to come across than these will be lol. Egg and beard auto dropped to me so I just lotted tounge and my 15 monk will have a Black Belt once I get my 62THF to 75.
I'm just an unlucky dude... true, not as unlucky as some, but I've been camping Nue more or less non-stop for a week, and I'm 0/14 on him now >.<
I went 1/5 on the dodo skin, and I got the vine in about 90 minutes of camping... this tiger is pissing me off, fast.

I have been attempting to finish my brown belt quest (though i already have one) over the last few days and after 8+ straight hours of camping this NM I developed a theory.
1st off i can confirm beyond a shadow of a doubt that the tiger that can pop as a doll is not a PH, due to the spawn time of Nue after killing each tiger/doll.
2nd: My theory developed after reading all these posts. The only people that listed a day when they got the drop, and therefore fought Nue, has been Iceday. My initial thought was that he only gave the drop on ice day. Which made sense to me given the zone he resides in. HOWEVER, after 8+ hours of camping I have only seen him pop on iceday. I would venture to guess that he only pops on iceday, and that when seen on other days it is because he popped on iceday and was not killed. I developed this course of thought a full 2 game days b4 iceday, and saw no pops until 3rd pop cycle into iceday. I wouldnt call this absolute confirmation but it certainly supports my theory.
3rd: as for things that effect the drop rate, I would say that all besides TH2 is a placebo effect. Correlation of 2 things does not prove cause and effect. a famous example of this used in psychology is the patterns of ice cream sales and polio being similar when polio was a major concern. turns out it was spreading through swimming pools which were more popular in the summer (of course the peak of ice cream sales). this DID NOT mean condition B (polio) was caused by condition A (ice cream).
So i am now only goin to try for this guy from windsday (the one b4 ice) to darksday (2 after ice). 0/2 so far as 56 mnk/28 nin. also i have no trouble killing him even with out 2hr. tho his paralyze does slow me down a bit. I will try to update as more information comes to light.
and by all means, if someone SEES HIM POP ON A DIFFERENT DAY PLEASE STATE DAY/WEATHER!

ok it seems my theory is incorrect after all. i popped him at 21:00 on windsday with dark weather. i guess my luck just sucked b4. must really be a lottery. 0/3 so far. solo'd as 57mnk/nin with the following gear equipped:
weapon: TM hooks+1
Head: emp hairpin (+10 eva)
neck: spike necklace
earrings. uneqipped my spikes to preserve evasion
body: scorp harness (+10 eva)
hands: temple gloves (took off my Okote cause i wanted max evasion and af is all i had on me)
ring1: str+3
ring2: venerer. acc+3
back: night cape (eva+3)
waist: brown belt
legs: republic subligar. BTW subligar+SH {No thanks.} FUGLY!
boots: temple gaiters
i had tp at the start and hit him with it. focus + dodge. took down blinks twice the whole fight, easily got them back up. used raging fists twice, and ended the fight at 1130/1237 hp.

edit3: finally killed him on lightningsday, double ice weather. 1600 waxing crescent 21% moon. bringing me to 1/5. also got my vine today. GL to all this quest drove me nuts.

you got some weird theories lol and some of them even seem practical, i dont blame you for trying. i think my self there is a 24 hour drop rate. if some one got the drop right b4 you, you wont get it for another 24 hours. i seen people come and kill things and get it first time then the next few it wont drop. but the next real life day it dropped for me. so i think things just dont drop till 24 hours have passed in real life, i mean if it dropped that easily it would not be rare right? who knows maybe the drop timer is 48 hours lol just my thoughts

Ok, I don't know if it's just this easy or what... Soloed both NM's as 58DRK/THF...The Deadly Dodo took about 20 min. to pop from killing Taber Beaks and the Nue took about 2 hrs to pop after killing Tundra Tigers in The Glaciers area and got both the dodo skin and the nue fang on the 1st try... wOOt!! on to the Vine :P

i dont know why you guys are all making a fuss over this dude i just killed him n now im 1/1 on Nue fang it only took me bout 20 minutes of camping him ahahahha... my th ponds all, i do have 3 lucky items in inventory if that does anything ;p

So after 2.5 hours of killing PH's and no pop I start killing dolls too, getting the occasional extra tiger to fall beneath my blade...

Been playing this game 4 years now, and camping this damned cat for 3 of them...I am currently 0/102 on this drop no bull. Maybe my luck is poor or SE has an agenda against me getting a brown belt >.>...both of which seem reasonable at this point. I guess all I can do is keep trying. If you're on Asura and see a hume monk crying in the corner as others parade around in their brown belts you might understand =P.

To kill time, I go into the tower and kill the Snowballs and Spiders. (14 min repop) Then I head back out for the dolls and tigers.

1/24 on Nue! That has to be some sort of record! I was leveling up my NPC buddy and he popped. Got claim and just bashed him we monks always do...got the drop... BROWN BELT IS MINE!!!

0/21 on Nue Fang. I have tried just about every combination I could think of. I went 0/18 with /thf and now am 0/3 with /war...so to me there is no difference in the drop rate.
I have given up on Nue at the moment and am going for Molbolger. I have a good idea of the TOD from a LS member so hpefully this will be a better experience.

that NM is a tiger in same zone that pops in the same way and Kirata suposedly shares a pop with that doll/tiger spawn. So I am killing the dolls and the tiger(s) I'll let you know how it goes only been up here for an hour on Bismarck

So officially 0/17, 20 minutes ago...
I dread making the trip every time I think of pimping my MNK with this belt. Dodo was 1/2 and I haven't even gone for the vine yet. As I'm on the verge of murdering someone every time I don't get the drop (I've smacked my monitor a few times lol) the only joys of this camp-out I get are:
* Catching up with my LS buddies
* Selling all of the fake Nue Fangs (Black Tiger Fang)
* Taking down the tigers instantly with SA/Penta with my SAM also makes me feel warm inside, I just pretend it's Nue
I've also tried everything to get the drop. Melee only, Fist it the entire fight (sounds wrong lol), Finish it off as fast as I can, 2HR and SC light with GK, have TH2 AND TH with me, sneak up to it and attempt to wrestle it down with a pair of pliers to rip it's fang out.... Someday......... I will prevail
I keep telling myself this only to prevent a total breakdown, I'm going insane here.

Holy crap the terror is over. 1/19 this morning, I finally did it!! All of these days of not giving up this stupid tiger has finally given the tooth I've been seeing everytime I fought him.
For those still trying to get it, camp him once a day. Don't bother staying for 4-5 hours on end, log on and tele there, kill him and leave if you don't get drop. Come back later on if you like but it seems that the "Chance to pop every next hour thing" is true.
Good luck friends and I hope you didn't have as much trouble as I did :S

Message has high abuse count and will not be displayed.
This thing makes me so mad! I got morbolger in about 2 hours of camping. Got the skin in about 4 hours. Then I get to the glacier. 3 kills no drop so far. But the last kill of nue was at 10:02 and its now 6:28. Almost 8 and a half hours later and nue still hasnt popped again. WTF!

Just got my drop. Nothing fancy about the day, i think it was Iceday and Waxing Crescent maybe. Had /thf and 2 of the "lucky" items. Record - 1/3. Wasnt no one there to compete with either. Was pretty excited being that the other PLD that was camping during one of the spawns that I claimed stated he was 0/17...probably not using /thf.
Went 1/1 on Deadly Dodo. Was logging for the night, was a week night and late, and decided to choco over and just see if it was up. Sure enough ran right smack into it, claimed it, killed it and drop.
Not too worried about the Vine. It is a 100% drop and, even on Asura, probably not camped that heavily being the NM is 3+ years old. But we will see. It has a small window so that is ok with it being a 24hr spawn. (unlike Argus with a 18-30hr spawn with a 12hr window... /gag)
Advice on these NMs: sub /thf for TH, grab the lucky items(cant hurt), camp during non-peak hours and just be patient and stay on your toes. I have been on an NM spree hear last few weeks going 1/1 on Leaping Lizzy, 1/1 on Valkrum Emperor, 1/1 on Deadly Dodo and 1/3 on Nue. Puts me in the 64% to 70% successful drop rate range if i did my math right.
