I was running through Ordelles earlier.I was subbing WHT for self healing, going to hunt Stroped Chyme, and this ******* aggro me when i was casting.
It killed me. while i was eating dirt waiting for my friend to raise me i noticed he wasnt leaving.
by the time my friend got there *about 10 mins* this thing was still there, forcing me to HP.
it would have aggro my friend if he tried to revive me

freaking 171 dmg without a crit on a lvl 41 pld with uber gear. the was a regular attack!

Killed this last night with my ls we had a 58 PLD, 42 PLD, 57 WAR, 40 PLD (me), 54 BLM, 58 DRG, and 41 PLD. I spawned it and then the 58 PLD voked it and everyone went to work on it. We killed it in 10-15 seconds and all it did was cast rasp. So now i have my nice shiny Honor Sword and I'm happy :D. P.S. g/l to everyone who's doing this and i hope this helps. Cheers!

well, I am going to try this tomorrow with my LS team. ^^ wish me luck... O.o;
Funny story while fighting the NM elemental (Same post under "Honor Sword" and the "Sharpening the Sword" quest):
It was just me (PLD41/WAR20) and my friend (PLD60/WAR30) and we went to do the quest to get this sword for me. Anyway, when we got to the spawn point, we built up our TP and what not. Our plan was that I jump in with a single WS and then step out and help cure my friend. Then we both got hit with Stonega II and I got smacked upside the head and lost over half my HP.
I threw out my Cures whenever needed, and my friend ended up using his 2HR also. It was down to about 25% HP left. Then he said, "RUN!" and he dropped down the hole and lured it away from me. So I ran all the way back to the entrance of Ordelle's Cave. And then I stop to rest. My friend, somewhere on the map, says, "I think I lost it..."
I gain enough HP/MP back while resting and cast a CureIII on myself. Next thing I know, the damn elemental comes out from behind and hits me once. The funny thing is, it ran away after that one hit. So I told my friend and I'm like, "What a pu**y! LOL"
After that, he tells me to meet him back at the NM spawn point. On my way there, he says that it came back for him, so he starts fighting it again. I start curing him again as needed, and after all the weak hits he was giving out, he finally kills it, and I get the Whetstone.
It was pretty funny, cuz the damn thing went through the caves looking for the both of us, and we ended up killing it anyway. Haha!
And my reward: a nice new Honor Sword that I'll be using after I gain my 500 EXP to 42. ^^

...once I hit 40 tonight, ima sell my Eisen gear...as soon as it sells and I get my new shiny stuffs, I'm on it. Or, I'll wait till I can actually use it, by this weekend then. Can't wait....will post progress later.
I did this with just me (60 WAR, subbed NIN for this occasion) and a 57 WHM.
Easy fight, just get 300% TP, use Swords for Spirits Within, chip away till done. Its accuracy really sucked, hit me like 2 or 3 times.
I guess if you can't dodge the hits, it'd be a pain but it was fairly simple here.

Okay, so I'm walking along in Ordelle's, on my way to do the Zilart Mission stone monument just outside...I run past one of the holes, and a guy there who is all alone spawns this thing, and it kills him pretty much instantly. He homepoints, and now I'M stuck with it. It aggros me for some inexplainable reason (Its a fricken elemental! Since when do they aggro by anything other than magic?), and hits me for something like 100 damage with add effect:30. Keep in mind I'm a level 65 White Mage at the time! Of course, I freak out, I'm not about to lose 3k exp on the account of something stupid as this, so I run for a hole and it stops to cast Rasp on me (resisted), and I fall down...never see it again, heh. Oh well. *******. I'll have my revenge someday.
Fought this along with a few others for a friend's AF. PT:
51/22 RDM/BLM (me ... yeah, underleveled sub, I know ... but I quit RDM anyway)
53/26 WAR/NIN
40/20 PLD/WAR
42/20 RDM/BLM
50/25 DRK/WAR

Other RDM did it too ... it resisted :p In short, since we coudln't keep it silenced and the WAR and I had no real gear to speak of, we all died cept WAR (nice lil 75 WHM helped him out a bit) So my pld buddy got his item ... but kicker is ... 75 whm casts raise III on us all, and starts resting before she raises me. littel 39 RDM has been watching us fight, and comes over and casts raise I on me ... I had been about 600 exp from equipping my AF boots. T_T Oh well ... I certainly didn't feel obligated to help him when he started spamming shouts for help finding something ...
so in short, for the love of god make sure you can keep this guy silenced - his spells are NASTY! Even when silenced though, I got lots of aggro, and he hit for about 200+. Be careful, eh? :p

If you didn't want the Raise I then why didn't you just say ----->NO<----- when it asked you if you would allow yourself to be raised. The fault lays with you.

I fought that thing just last night. 40PLD/20WAR(me), 50THF/25NIN, and a 66MNK/33WAR.
So simple, Chi Blast for about 1/3 its health, MNK and THF use massive WS, I stood there and missed the stupid thing every time...so I was healer >.<
It was really easy though.

ok, did this quest with myselv (lvl40pld), a lvl 46pld, lvl49monk,lvl46SAM, and lvl55Monk.. yes i know, no healer.. it was a bit of a mess, we all got slaughtered except the 55monk who was able to get some cures from a passing rdm. The good news is i was able to get a raise after the 55monk finished him off and i was able to get the stone even after KO.
So it all worked out in the end.. had to pay a death to get this sword, but it was well worth it...

Do you think a PLD40, BLM40 and a RDM46 will be able to take him if we keep him silenced? I'm kinda eager to kill him... >:)
EDIT: We tried, and died hard. Just letting you people know so you don't try it. We all used food amnd the best gear for our level, still no chance for his Stone III's which hit me for like 500HP.

I killed this thing with lvl 60 dragoon and a lvl 60 pld in about 10 seconds. no one even got hurt, it was easy

Yeah, it would be easy for a level 75, wouldn't it? If it's so easy, why didn't you solo it yourself? >_<

Killed this no problem.
Party consisted of 53 ninja (me), 42 paladin, and a 50 white mage. Keep it silenced and it's harmless.

Went in with a 67 war, 52 drk, 45 pld, and 42 pld and we took it without any problems at all....
Just did this last night with some of my LS. Party consisted off the following:
lvl 43 PLD (3 of us)
lvl 36 THF
lvl 37 RDM
lvl 43 RDM
lvl 50 WHM
lvl 43 BLM
Got Food and Buffs and Barstone all up and the fight wasn't bad. I was the main tank and never dropped below 450 hp. Just keep the NM on you and let your mages blast away and you'll be set. Also the PLD 2hr is great for this because the constant damage you take is from melee attacks from Polevik. Careful though, the Stonega II can pop up to 260's in damage. Otherwise good deal.

no, that quest is called Eco-warrior and has a different NM you have to fight. if this was it and you were capped at level 20 it would literally be impossible.

was the 67 SAM at 10 health when he started? i had a 67 RDM in full AF beat it to death without worry. of course, knowing it was an elemental, i brought someone who could silence it since elementals are nothing without their spells.
So to beat this guy, bring a high level with silence and you wont have a problem ^)^

RDM's and SAM's are much different, bro.
RDM's have Phalanx, Stoneskin, Blink, "Spike" spells... Basically enough to make them a decent tank.
They also have cureative spells, making them second to WHM's in healing.
Add to the mix some BLM spells, and you have a semi-nuker.
"But what about mp?! They'll run out!!"
Nadda. Refresh + Convert + Cure iV or higher = MP right back in the middle of a battle.
Sam's? Great damage dealers. TP comes back HELLA fast. But tanks? Heck no. Healers? Not a chance.

You just can't read. He said he HAD a 67 RDM.. not that he WAS a 67 RDM.
You just read his post wrong. His "someone" with silence is the 67 RDM he talks about.

It's an Elemental. :) They're usually stronger than their level reveals due to high defense.
