Soloed him right after hitting level 48 Tarutaru BST/WHM with my shiny new Viking Axe and Life Belt. Took about 10-15 charms/releases of the various leeches and flies in the area, three jug pets, two pet food Zeta biscuits, lots of blink casts, dangerous resting, and curing of myself outside of hate range as I bounced it around the area that I had cleared of gobs. Of course by the time it was almost dead the goblins had repopped, so near the end it was pretty desperate to avoid links. Finally before my last charm I had goblinsavior AND a goblin robber after me, but I was able to charm my trusty EM leech, and at this point Goblinsavior only had a sliver of HP left, so I used my leech to grab both their attention and started wailing on goblinsavior with my axe. I killed him and got the gold beastcoin, gil, goblin mail, and goblin helm. I then ran away while my leech occupied the robber, thinking it would lose for sure, but then later I got the gil from the goblin...guess that leech was a tougher ******* than I thought. Oh well ;) No axe, but I already had this axe at one point and tossed it, since my Warrior was level 50 and theres no substitue for Gigant Axe at that level.

Had a lvl 38-40 party. nin/war, whm/blm, blm/whm, two rng/nin's and me a war/thf. Ranger sees it while pulling and sees that a lvl 50+ thief is fighting it along with a lvl 30+ rng/nin who decided to help. They run it over to us and followed our rng/nin asking for cures. We were in a battle so we didn't respond at first. After we finished, the thf had about 15% of his hp so whm started healing him.
Pt leader asks him if we help, can I get the axe... and they say yes! Well, the thf died, the rng died, one of our rng's died, but we killed it and got the axe. They passed, I lotted and I was very happy and lucky.
I planon taking war all the way and the Gigant Axe looks prohibitively expensive, I think I'll be using this axe for a good 10 levels or so once I lvl to 46... ^.^

Just an FYI: The gigant axe is obtained from a chest in crawlers nest. Save your keys from leveling there and use your WHM to sneak around looking for chests.
To find the majority of the chests use the right tunnel to get to the lower area that people don't level in. Everything aggros and links, so have fun!

This guy spawned where I was levelling today as a 47 BST and since I wasn't aware of his difficulty I called on some high-level folks to come and kill it. They came, they spent a few minutes killing it and then they let me have the Great Axe ^^.

Killed him again yesterday, this time he popped a little before I got to lvl49. So i celebrated my level by killing him. I'd just cleared the area of goblins as I got my level up and I was lucky enough to have 3 lvl 48 labyrinth leeches ready for me to use.
I'd attack with a leech, run to the next one, throw on blink and be ready to uncharm when pet got low hp. Only difficulty came the one time I failed a leech charm and had to 'tame' it and take a few hits from goblinsavior.
It took about 15 minutes I think because a gob spawned and linked to my pet just before goblinsaviour died.
This time I got everything BUT the greataxe, which was good because I don't need it. 6k in gil as well, plus the gold beastcoin sells for 10k on my server, so it's a nice little earner.
Edit: Oh and I got 105 exp at lvl 49 with pet, which is 150 without...that's 2-3 levels above me i think. Not sure.

55rdm/blm and 47bst/whm
took about 5-6 pets to kill.. i was putting on the debuffs so it mostly went after me in between fights, stoneskin + phalanx works well for the few seconds needed to switch pets(he was hitting me for about 70-80 with only protect 3 on).
bind works well (enfeebling maxed) gravity works well sleep failed (i only tried once, without ES)
pretty easy fight just a lot of trying not to get hit and watching for linking goblins.. while trying to get enough room to be able to cure yourself without getting hate.
i got 25xp my friend got 14 xp (does that mean it was decent challenge to me at lvl 55? is this lower level than is listed?)
we got all the drops listed except the crystal and also 3000 gil each
i really want that axe and it was a really really fun fight so chances are i'll be out there again ^^
i suggest any of you beastmasters out there that are leveling in gustav tunnel to try this NM if you see him (and have someone else with you of course 2 lvl 47's could take this guy easy.)

i ran into this thing just tonight (10/17/04) while i was pulling. I am a thf and like any good thf, .... i just... i couldnt help myself.
I mugged that sucker for 1119gil
however, it did slaughter my party.

Yesterday i wondered what would have happened if i mugged from it. So being that i was a thf/rng lvl 42, i went behind it mugged and fleed away. Mugged on my first try 1190 gil!!!! Amazing isn't it. Then i wanted tand tried again and got 700+ gil! That's something. Even though it nearly killed me. Try it, trust me it's worth the try.

i was heading back to valkrum when someone shouted that a NM was near so i used meditate and saved up my tp and attacked em i killed em with someone healing me as a 56SAM/WAR almost died drop 6k and a gold beastcoin
My LS is gonna help me camp this, and i need to know the spawn time. Thanks

one of my ls friends said their party got killed by this guy and having been killed by him before i was up for paybacks so me (56 mnk) 55rdm and a 52 blm from my ls went in there he was hitting me for only 60 or so was an easy fight i was doing double that dmg to him i 2 hrd and he was over half dead when my 2 hr ran out only got crystal and 2 pieces of armor no axe ; ;
Hey everyone thought I would put my experience with this gob up for everyone to read. After reading all the threads I think a lot of you out there may not believe me but hey...I was there!
This happened to be the 2nd time I partied with this group of guys. The first time I was with them I happened to be lvling my dagger skills out in the dunes when I receive a /tell asking if I would like to get about 2500 exp real quick. Seeing as I hadn't been able to find any PT's for my RDM (lvl35 at the time) I jumped on the offer. I told them that I was only 2900 tnl and after asking the rest of the PT they said they would stay long enough for me to lvl. So i accept invite and head to Gustav tunnel> When I get there they inform me that I am just gonna be a back up healer to the WHM...hey I can do that. We start fighting and the exp rolls in at 200-300. I get my lvl and we part ways. Two nights later one of the members from that same PT asks if I wanna PT.....duh of course I do! I was in davoi at the time getting rdy to get the PLD quest finished. I warp back to jueno and change to my WHM sub and shortly after we get a tele dem and find our way to the tunnel. When we get there we find that it is crowded with other pt's, but we decide to stay. I am acting as the main healer we also have a BRD....RNG...and I can't remember the others. Well the exp is going great 200-300 again and very little downtime. I died once as well as another guy ( i think he died 2-3 times that night from links) Well towards the end of the night our RNG says he has this gob in sight and asks if we want it....guys say sure lets give it a shot. I don't think anyone knew what lvl he was. SO we pull him and OMG we weren't doing that much damage!! We managed to get this FREAK down to about 1/4 of its health before I run out of MP and then one of our guys dies....I say we should zone and then another guy dies....the rest of us zone and make it safely. When we come back in someone had taken this guy out. I couldn't believe that we did so well against him after readiing other posts. One guys did congratulate us saying we held up prettyu well, that felt good.
BTW he did hiot me one time as I threw out a cure II and the hit did 300 DMG to my 36RDM!

i was leveling in Gustav Tunnel as lvl 41 rng with a full party, and after about 2-3hr, i decided to check my widescan and see this thing on the radar. I down to the open area & look at it and said to ym party "let's kill it :-D!!" of course i knew there was no way of that happened, but who cares! unfortunately my party's balls weren't as big as mine...:-/

My party of level 40-43 came across this SOB and got owned like no other, it was a happy day. We had M&M's.
Wow. i Was lvling here and i see this dude. I tell my PT and they say not to go near it. It aggros another pt lvling there (we are only two pties) So i throw the lead a alliance invite thinking we both could take it. I mug 800 gil from it! We kill it get axe. RARE/EX so i calmed everyone down and gave it away to the only WAR in the alliance.
I actually ran into this **** while XPing on BST (solo) here. Another team was in here and actually asked me, a level 50 BST, to kill it for them. I laughed and said it would own me severely if I made a single mistake. The only response I got from their puller was "But your a BST..."
So I start fighting it like an idiot, get a Greater Gaylas, one of the higher level mobs in Gustav Tunnel, and attack. The thing takes a SLIVER of damage and I panic almost. But I keep composed, and grab another pet, figuring a flawless ten minute performance was going to be needed. Another tiny sliver gone. I go get a damselfly-type pet and MISS A CHARM. It's official, either I die here and now within 5 seconds or I miraculously get the hell out.
I died before the Charm recast was halfway in. This **** can tear through you if your a BST with bad luck, so don't take it on unless your luck is accented with as much CHR as possible.

Owned him at level 61 NIN easy fight, bombs can deal some dmg but not as much to kill u. Dropped some cash + gold beasticon, no Axe.
Took him down this morning! after he raped me and my *** bst friend last night (got us from behind). I Am lvl 47 and i soloed this guy...only took about 20 Mins and 20 mobs to throw on him , still cant believe i didnt die, he was hiting me for 150-250 and i only have 800 HP.

They won't suicide. Killed this NM last night with 2 75 BLM's, a 75 DRG, and myself. Got the axe, I'll use it when I level my war at a later date, it doesn't seem too bad, but there's a Lv.49 GAxe that seems a bit better (DMG: 75, STR+4 vs. DMG:67, DEX+2, CHR+2)

ok i was level 39 down there and we where at the top of the stairs and this JP party came in. Well he went to go pull and he said he accidently pulled it...OMG!! how can u accidently pull something..LoL so my Freind Wingbuster Level 58 DRK comes down to check on me and linkshell member, so hes like call for help and they did and he vokes it...wrong thing to do, So he has like 100 life left and everyone startrs to cure him then LMAO he was scared. He thought he was a gonner for sure..
was in a 40-42 pt...pulling. almost pulled him but stopped just in time. called some high lvls. they killed it...didnt give me a single gil =(
I was puller for my Party (43DRG/21THF) and he popped and I just about pulled him and was like, "Hey, wait, that's an NM! o O" So I looked up his level and my party was debating taking him or not. A level 60 PLD runs up and is like, "I will probably die, but here it goes!" We stood and watched him, those who could healed him. I disbanded from my party and joined him to help deal damage. We took him out:

-Gold Beastcoin x1
-4558 Gil each
He also gave me 10,000 gil for helping him and 5,000 to each of my other party memebers. I got the gob armor, he got the coin (won lot) and the Axe (his WAR could use it, mine couldn't.)

yeah this thing is weak, party of 5 took him down all between 57-60 withouth breaking a sweat, no drop though

The spawn time on this NM is approximately 3 hours or so. There are 2 Goblin Reapers that are placeholders for it that pop around every 10+ minutes I believe. Not sure if anyone wanted to know that still. ^^;;

He is veeeeeeeeeeeeeeery easy to beat, PT Setup(at the time): 50 war, 56 drk(me), 30 thf, 54 drg, 52 whm, beat him with no problem at all, dropped the axe, and a full set of gob gear+2k in gil for everyone. We now have a very happy warrior in our LS. :)
Is it possible for goblin NMs to drop their bombs, or are they immune to suicide?
Gob NMs Cannot Kill themselves, just like if you fight a ninja based NM who uses his 2 hr, Mijin Gakure, it will not kill him either.
