So far i've killed it 2x as 75RDM/1RNG, and once with friends, 0/3 on shield. Has terrible acc, has never landed the HP down move on me. Petrified once, but barpetrify and resist petrify job trait ftw. Takes a while to kill with gimp sub, but is easily solo'd by many jobs.

Be very careful when walking or fighting around this mob it has a habit of joining in and hitting from behind, trust me its happend twice now!!!

brother was runnin back from dunes with a friend of mine when they saw it. friend said he was gonna try to solo it as 47RDM/BLM and i grabbed the keyboard and started shouting for him to stop and after that i did a /sea all for ls leader. about 20 minutes later ls members started showin up and i had logged my brother off to switch to my char (30WHM/BLM). levels ranged from my lvl 30 on up to 63DRK/30SAM. had one person die the entire fight and he was removed to be replaced with a 60MNK/???. two biggest problems were A) We kept running out of MP cuz we had to keep using the higher Cure spells, and B) That Great Bleat attack (or whatever it was) kept cutting everyones HP down. good thing we had someone there with erase. Took a long @$$ time to kill it but we did and we got the lumbering horn along with a bunch of ram skins/horns. *cheers for quick ls response time*

i had a ram-phobia....got killed by my lil friend bloodtear it poped right behind me when i was lvl 15 ; ; and u ppl look for it XD i got good luck on findin NM that aggros pop on my a$$ <.< i kill rams all the time now :P

Here is how I lost us 4 mil...
A member of my ls was farming skins in La Theine when he saw Bloodtear pop on WS. He told the LS and we all quickly mobilized to get it. My LS leader got there first and engaged, inviting members as they arrived. I had just logged on after there were about 5 people there fighting it and was told to get my *** out there. SO I shouted for a tele and told the whm to invite others from my LS as they got to LJ. After we had teled I told the whm to just pass lead to me. By this point my LS leader and some members of the other party were dead, so they couldn't send me an alliance invite. Well my party killed it (we got the shield and some skins, etc.) and raised the fallen. Then... my LS leader sent me an alliance invite which I accepted before I could stop myself. Thats right, all treasure in the pool lost. And all because of some idiot game designer thinking that when someone joined a party they should lose everything waiting to drop. DAMN YOU SE!

Ok my Frined was in Hunting Lumbering Lambert, then Bloodtear Poped, He was wow, He got a sleep dagger out, and got it to sleep. I was in Windy at the time, Shout to get a tele, I am BRD57/28WHM. My friend Skylerk (PLD 59/29WAR), Alacard (59DRG/29WAR)and Elcrepicta (THF50/25NIN) (Climer) all go ther before, I got there when bloodtear was at about 70% Hp and The PLD Has 2 MP, Used 2 Hour, Double Ballad, He loved at, It got down to 50% hp and Used Something Like Hundred Fists cause it was Non stop attack, PLD used 2 hour, DRG Used 2 hour and now was down to about 20%, I had my 2 hour still up do Double Attack, and that helped, about 10-15 secs later it dead, No drop ; ;. OH well was fun

wear evasion gear, sub /rng, if you can use bloodies, use them, if not, take a few regen drinks, and around 10 hi potions. Make your NPC healer type, and use your NPC to help you as well.
will save you looking for help from a widecscanner, and help you claim, being as tho you have widescan. ^^

How does it spawn, or is it just lottery, cuz if its lottery ima get real pissed off!
Just fought this guy with a LS member (46thf) and me (72pld) took him down to 1% then we wiped. I hate that HP down attack. Took me from a nice 1100HP to 300ish, he did it right after I poped a DS Cure4. He was a real push over though bad acc., and weak hits 20-30ish and crits at about 40-60 nothing to bad. Wish I had brought a couple of yag drinks too, the reason why we wiped I had no mp what so ever at the end.

My Ls camped Bloodtear today with no luck. I saw it spawn and was killed by it the night before at about 4:30 am. A Japanese Ls came and killed it right after I died. So our Ls camped it between 21-24 hours after it died. We killed tons of rams and 2 Lumbering Lamberts but no spawn. Does anyone else have a better idea of when this spawns?

As a thf, with near capped eva, you wont need nin sub, because he will always miss you. Use a blind bolt and you're set.
Soloed his *** so easily. lvl 70 smn. 69 at the time. before my disappearance. it was halarius. Carby was slapping him into February 33.

Think a 53RDM/25BLM could solo this if I had phalanx ... I mean you said he didn't hit hard so meh.. and use sleep strategy...lmao...... <.<

Killed this guy a few weeks ago while trying to pop Lumbering Lambert for his rare/ex horn(for purple belt quesst, then do brown belt).
I'm /rng and use widescan when I see em around the G-9/H-9 area. I ask a few people in my ls to come down so we can own his ***.
I stay my distance cuz I don't want him to aggro me. Before I know it a RDM in some pieces of AF approaches on a Chocobo. Not knowing if they're there to claim it I flash it, equip my Earth staff and proceed to run in circles.
It's accuracy is horrible. My 70 rng buddy gets there and we start to duo it. After a minute or so my 75 RDM and 75 BLM friends get there and the fight goes easy.
Only scary part was when it uses that Max HP down move. RNG got hate anyway and just blink tanked it for a minute or so till the effect went away.
