F-8, just follow the path from Xarcabard, and at the intersection, go straight. Please stop with the "I soloed this as..." posts. ANY 75 job combination can solo him, as he has the poorest accuracy of nearly any NM. I cast Utsusemi: Ni twice the whole fight, did not take one hit, and NO, I'm not a thf nor did I have any eva gear on. His self-destruct will hit a moderately (no fire+) geared 75 for 600 at most. So maybe you're a hero to the lvl50-60 you helped, or yourself for soloing your 2nd job's AF, but that's the extent of it, get over it.

Solo'd DS today as 75 Whm/Nin without any trouble, just kept up shadows and Stoneskin while I gained TP for Hexa strike. Only took about 4 min to kill him.

I finally got my Coffer from The Eldieme Necropolis ad now I'm moving onto Darkspark. Rather than making plaintive requests or writing 'I rock posts...' does anyone actually know the <pos> for this NM at all?

So far from both forums for DS and forums for its map all that's there is: He was hard, he was easy, room linked. So far as far as I can tell he is at the end of the hall way as you walk into the keep. Could someone please post something to confirm this, or the correct pos if they've been there please?

It would help greatly, especially since the Castle is such a pain even with a map ^^ Thank you muchly.

soloable by a 70 drk?

ive been sifting through the posts here and have a general idea and im pretty sure i can, but i dont see any drks around my lvl say they solo'ed it, just want to make sure before i dig myself a grave

My lvl 66 RDM friend needed this and no other ls members were on to help. He had previously said that I was useless and so I decided to try and prove him wrong. All I can say is that if you are a 61DRG/WHM, don't take it on unless you have someone that is either a equal/better mage than my friend or unless you have a tank that can actually tank.

Just in case you wondered what happened, we did win w/o a death, but DS was hittin me for 80-140 each hit and RDM had to convert when I was at 300HP. Fortunately, I had enough TP to Skewer his @$$ and finish him ^^

Had my friend (Thanks Dragonix) solo this as MNK75. Didn't even have to build up TP before; and the thing didnt get a chance to splode.

64DRK/WAR, 72PLD/WAR, 60PLD/WHM, 70DRG/WHM, and me 60RNG/NIN.

What a joke. Never even had a chance to explode. XD

Had TP built from killing the demons around the torches. DRK used (Guillotine} for 876. For good measure, I used {Sharpshot} + {Barrage} with Heavy Crossbow +1 and Holy Bolts. That did 786 damage alone. Then used {Slug Shot} for 1284 damage. {Good Night!} LOL, the WHM subs weren't even needed. I really think 2 60 DD's with NIN subs could probably duo this guy before ever having to recast Utsusemi.

So for those that need him, just grab a high lvl DD and go get your gloves. :P

I ended up soloing this guy very easily as 68 rdm/30 nin,i needed the flames for my 50 war and i was shouting in jeuno for help but no responses..so i packed up and went off to try and solo,thinking i was gonna get owned,fight went like this-

i got 300% tp before battle and ate sole sushi.i pop the dude w/ full buffs up(dont forget barfire) and landed paralyze,slow,and silence.I used spirits within and pretty much just blink tanked him.He likes to use berserk which i just left on for the lowered defense. Well thats pretty much it,GL to any of u guys who need!

...Well this NM was Raped today in Fairy. The PT set up was 61THF/NIN 61DRK/THF 58SAM/WAR 75SMN/WHM 70RNG/???<-(didn't check well, I think it was NIN since the update and all.)and Me 53RDM/BLM. At first I didn't know what to expected....but we killed thi ******* in less than 2 minutes.. Caburnacle was doing 100+DMG each hit, and Gulliotine(Don't know if I wrote it right...) and Dancing Edge just raped this NM really bad.The THF was actually tanking if you can belive that ^_^ lol. With me have him Silence and Paralyze there was nothing he could really do but to die.

Just killed Dark Spark tonight on Sylph. Party was me, 54RDM/27WHM, a 54PLD (thanks for inviting me Faith!) and a 72BLM (thanks Drazen!) The first time we tried to fight it we tried to just use a standard strategy of the PLD 'voking, BLM nuking, me healing. This.... didn't go so well. After our party wiped, luckily both the BLM and the PLD had reraise items up, so we got all raised and rested, killed the demons in the area and tried again. This is where it got interesting.

Our new strategy was for the BLM to cast a strong nuke, then he and I would both cast SleepII on Dark Spark. As we started out, this was working well. Sleeps were sticking just fine, I was keeping myself and the BLM refreshed, the BLM was Aspiring whenver he could and both of us keeping Stoneskin up. Things got a little bit hairy when one, then both of the demons respawned, now we had 3 mobs to keep asleep! Between SleepI, SleepII and the BLMs occasional Sleepga, we were able to stay relatively safe. I had to Convert midway through the battle, and both of us had to rest here and there. After a good 15 minutes or so of this, we got Dark Spark with barely any life left. The BLM rested up a bit, cast FireIII and waved goodbye to Dark Spark, the PLD and I got our key item, and the BLM Escaped us out of there just as the demons were waking up and cranky.

I solo this for people on Fairy as RDM/NIN all the time. I did it my first time when I was 65, didn't have too much trouble. Only need to sleep it once to turn around and convert, because your MP will get low. If he has slow on you can recast utsu in between his hits with fast cast IV, and if you have capped enhancing you can recast stoneskin while he beats you up and you wont get inturupted. Takes about 10 minutes :D Very fun over all though. First time I helped someone with this I died, because I didn't know about recasting stoneskin in between his hits thing..But yeah, capped enhancing magic is the way to go =p
