I sat there for 15 minutes with Invis and Sneak on and not once did this dragon turn in my direction.. So truesight by this Dragon? I don't think so >.> I run around on my server saying "I saw Guivre and lived to tell about it!" Yet no one believes me cause they SWEAR he has truesight >.>
If you just look up and read, it says, Detects by sight. Shouldn't that say it all?

yesterday the first meeting with this guy.. i was kinda drunk (i said pt that i was sleepy><) and brought them in the wrong way of kuftal tunnel, met Guivre, most of us instantkilled. pt disbanded cause we took wrong directions many times and most of the members were getting pissed xD sry guys ;;

for ur case... did u cast invis only AFTER u saw him from far away? from what i know, Guivre has no true sight, but VERY gd eye sight XD meaning he can detect u by sight from very far away. I had my sneak/invis on from the moment I entered Kuftal Tunnel. I even walked up to him, took sceenie of him, and even chased him w/o any aggro =P

On Caitsith, I got a 52-53 pt together to camp outside the cape zone, when someone gets tagged by a crab. As everybody goes to help this one fallen comrad i stay put cause a drg/war can't do a magic using thing... and that's what saved me. That ******* dragon popped out and shredded the pt, took the better part of an hour and a ballsy pld and whm to raise and move their hides from the middle of the danger zone. As we had pt members leave, we'd tell replacments to watch their step, and lo-and-behold our MASH team hauled everyone off to safety. I felt really bad to be the only one livling through the experience. At least we got some of the lost xp back.

Was pting in kuftal tunnel last night and not getting anywhere cause people kept having to leave my pt and we kept having to wait for replacements. Finally got rolling after several fruitless hours and things are looking good. i'm healing during a fight (whm) with robber crab when all of a sudden this damn big wyvern comes charging up and starts taking chunks out of our paladin tank. I yell "holy sh*t" and RUN!!! and blasted out of there like the devil himself was after me. After getting aggro from one of the Haunts on the way to the zone i finally made it alive and only bio II dropping my hp like a rock. The mnk also made it, everyone else died. That thing took out everyone pting in the tunnel in that area and then hung around for any stragglers. All my dead pters had to hp and that was it for the pt. We were in contact with others in the tunnel and that thing was still around like an hour later. Really put a cramp in trying to lvl. But it was fun trying to escapt it and live to tell.
I saw this guy on the path where you go down the place where you lvl with crabs not the one by entrance but the one in the big room. As soons I turned around that pathway I heard a big thump, and I twisted my camera he was right there so I thought it wasnt after me cuzz I saw others running pass me and Guivre was actually look like he was running for them, but I decided to run anyway and since he wasnt hitting me I decided to stop thinking he is not after me.................... well um u know the rest lol. After it killed me it proceeded to the zone where 2 parties were lvlin lol.

my bst ls(charmed of alexander server) wooped him the other day. 8 bst 59-72. droped wing,skull and 2 wind crystals. skull sold b4 we had even downed him. 27k profit and 75exp. next day i was running throu and he blind sided me so we are even... for now

My BST LS ripped him a new one last night on Shiva. I'll have a video up in a bit, but we had like 9 BSTs lv50-71 and me as WHM and only one person went into yellow the whole fight. I never had to cure anyone, either.
I have been killed with inv up and sneak.... if its like Ruby Quadavs... it may have very very short true sight range. Like right in front of him...
This was awhile ago so they may have change some of his abilities...

This dragon is a true *******. Because of this ****, I'm way below my static party in experience points, and gets me pissed to boot. Our static tried to start EXP'ing at around 10pm, and I wanted to make it quick because of an 8am test the next morning...of course the dragon wipes out our entire party except for the black mage, who had to tractor us all the way to the Cape Teriggan zone and raise us, etc, which took a while.
If possible, stay away from him. I'm pretty bitter right now about it...

I've seen this one before, but we've got a lot of people on the Caitsith server that would just zone the monster straight to the Altepa Desert zone, and wipe out every single EXP party on the way there...

Guirve does not have true sight. Likely what is happening to all you who think he does, is you have invisible on only, and get aggrod by a crab. After you get aggrod with invisible on it goes away, and Guirve pwns j00.

It might be 99.99% like it says with Silent Oils. Anyways, from my personal experience, NMs have higher probability of seeing through Invis/Sneak, since I got killed by Guivre herself when I had Invis on. Even notice how sometimes when you move, the mobs around you move in the same direction as you? That's because those ones follow by scent, which means that they'll move a bit closer to your area if they catch your scent. So just use Deodorize if you really want to get away from NMs. I died 3 times in 10 minutes from Guivre... Damn Flee x2... First I was casting Invis on my Sam/Rng friend, who had Guivre on Widescan, but didn't see her move much 'cause she's so fast. Second time was near the gil sellers, didn't even see her coming again, just saw the screen shaking. Third time I was casting Escape and after I was out and my screen changed black it said "Finalforce recieves 568 damage from Guivre" or whatever, and I died with my currently 20 hp from Raise... I will recieve my revenge, and I will do it more than once... We have 3 Drg in our ls who need Guivre's Skull who don't want to buy it, so I WILL have my revenge! >=D

Then out of the blue the leaders like, "RUN!!!! GUIVRE'S OUT!! RUN LIKE MAD!" I was like wtf? oO;
Then I see this figure in my view and its a Wyvern, I run like mad away from it straying off course but it aggro's the party member helping me get to the rest of the group. ><; Luckily she had Blink up e_e;. Hit her twice and she was running like crazy for the exit, I made it safely to the party and she made is safely to the exit. ><;
Let me also add in that this guy does NOT have true sight.
And thats my story >>;

He spawned for the first time on me a week ago on Garuda. the rng who was pulling got slaughter when it popped on him, and the whm tele aktepa'd us out. Rng said an allience of people came and killed him in the 15 mins we were gone, rng got raised by someone, and pld but us there as we were sneaking up.
As we got there the pld says he popped again and both the pld and rng got slaughtered as we came into the room. About 5 mins later the allience shows up and kills him again, it was a cool fight and i got a couple screenies.

You say he spawned at least twice in 15 minutes when he's a what, 20-24h spawn? Right.

Wow... I had just gotten to level 52 and everyone told me that we should go to Kuftal Tunnel to level up some more. Well, we went there and like 45 minutes into being there someone asked me "Hey, has Guivre spawned yet?" I said I had no freaking idea what he was talking about and he enlightened me to the fact that I am camping in his spawn point. In fact, he was so dead on that when Guivre poped he saw me first, two hits, bam, dead DRG. The party scatters but he chases EVERYONE down! I couldn't believe how terrible this creature is. A group tried to fight him but this MPKer named Shylla kept training crabs on the group and it eventually got destroyed. You just see people running and you know he's right behind. We had invis up and he never saw us by the way.
EDIT: I'm stupid, said we had sneak up but it was invis. At first we had sneak up and it chased us down like dogs. It slaughters you if it can see you.

Ok, since it seems that a few noobs keep posting here... I'm going to rehash what many smart people have said already.
GUIVRE DOES NOT HAVE TRUE SIGHT!
I even did a little test just to factually prove that retards shouldn't be allowed to operate keyboards...
After my party broke up in Kuftal Tunnel, and I warped everyone home... I realized that Guivre was due up soon, so I stuck around. There were no campers at all, so I devised a plan. Sure enough, she spawns within 30 mins.
Step 1) Invis+Sneak+Deodorize. Yes, I know that Deodorize is only used against mobs that "persue by Scent" but I did it anyways. Guivre didn't aggro
Step 2) Invis+Sneak. Pretty much same as Step 1, Guivre didn't aggro
Step 3) Invis only. Left out Sneak this time, no crabs near Guivre and I. Guivre DID NOT AGGRO!
Step 4) Sneak only. I was sure that this would kill me, so I saved it for last. Sure enough, Guivre aggrod me and I died. But then a THF ran up, mugged Guivre and used Hide... Guivre walked away. Sent a tell to the THF, they didn't speak English :\ so I home pointed.
So, what have we learned today? 3 things...
