Me >67 whm/blm at the time< and a lvl 73 >at the time lol< nin friend of mine killed it the other day, was about a 15 min fight, i spent a good part of it skilling up my staff ^^ he's really nothing all that special, kept barwatera up, good nin thou >Broady< ^^ >cerberus<

Ok solo hot shots. ^.^ After my 30-40ish kill.. (6 solo, bunch with friend) there is one thing that I found out quikely, and you MUST understand. If your a ninja or thf, get rdy for a tough fight, but this post doesnt concern you. If you a blm or rdm(particlarly rdm, we kill slower then blm)... you must land gravity. simple enough, its landable @ 65. Problem is, aqua does build resistance. And builds it fast. 4or5 gravities in, resistance is up, and you can not win. No time to nuke, heal, buff, ect. Whne kiting, you must know your stuff and be efficiant. I would recomend hitting at least 72 before attempting to solo as rdm. Its possible, but hard. Ever @ 75, if you make a couple mistakes, you arent gonna beet him. Dont let anyone tell you otherwise.

King Artho is more hardes to Kill, it's a HNM Style , he have a lots of HP need Alliance to kill it.

ma and pt was healing along river when i saw this nm i wondered if i could take then they said no so i called a few 75 from ls and allianced took us a good 15 min but all we got was axe
Our puller managed to pull this in an exp party last night... I saw the "pulling aquarius" <call> macro and started screaming for "Escape it's a blooming level 70 NM"... it one-shotted our poor rng (who I'd just complimented on his fast, link free pulling) and took out our tank who voked it away from the party.

Some more specific info. After reaching my 66th kill the other day.
Aquarius is a lotto spawn off the crabs around the first tree you come to in Boyahda... there are 2 crabs that spawn around the base of the tree, 2 (sometimes 3?) spawn in a little pool off to the side, and there's the main pond with a waterfall on the opposite side with 3 crab pops. All of these are placeholders for Aquarius.
The repop time of all the crabs is 16 minutes from their time of death. If Aquarius' spawn window is up, he has a chance of spawning in place of one of these crabs. The chance is low for the first few repops, but increases as the end of his window gets closer and closer... it seems the longest he can possibly wait to be popped is 6 hours after TOD... window starting at 2 hours after (2 hours seems to be the earliest he's repopped at).
He will only spawn around the base of the tree, and can spawn as a lvl 70 or lvl 71 mob (based on XP received). Always drops 18000 gil, Francisca, Crab Shell, Water Crystal (need signet), and Land Crab Meat 100%. Damascene cloth drop is 20-25% chance average.
NM has a very high attack rate and attack power... insane defense (I'd say he rivals Amikiri in physical damage resistance...), and uses normal Crab moves (shell, d boost, AOE water attack)... also has a latent added effect of Enwater to his attacks. He cannot be slept but is pretty easy to stick Gravity on. A well balanced party of 65 can take him pretty easy, or a couple members of 70+. Some jobs can solo (BST, SMN, THF, NIN, RDM, BLM are all I've seen pull it off.) as he's pretty easy to dodge with high evasion and is pretty easy to kite for mage jobs.

For those THFs you've seen solo him... Are they relying on high evasion/Utsusemi/Bloody Bolts or can sleep bolts activate on this NM? I know you said Sleep spell can't land, but how bout bolts?
Also, what level was the THF you saw solo it? Is Utsusemi: Ni gonna be necessary when I wanna go after this guy?

Got him twice in a row yesterday, two fransisca's but no cloth >.> still happy we got him 2 times in a row :)
Monk In PArty Spotted It When We Had to escape due to NIN dieing and link, so he decides wed run and hed train it to zone where wed be after escaping with the NIN, well, we do it and NIN is weakened and we engage, we do fine, and then his weakness wears, me and RDM Cure IV and draw hate, later in the abttle im the only one in low hp and its in orange lol, but we killed it, no cloth >< but we got the francisca, Me and BRD only ones without it >.> I lotted 72 and said i have bad luck =P and he lotted 29... i have a screenie of that lot >.>

Lets just say this lil crab-on-super-steroids ambushed Boyahda Tree, killing my pt full of lvl 55's, a party full of people in full AF, a party of coffer key hunters of 65+, a few exp party's of 49-53, and then some PL's. BST lvl 72 tried to tame it, died trying. This is one bad boy. (I was pulling, thought it was a Robber Crab, hit me for 340 55 DRK/THF 27. I think the Bismarck server at least 50 people + of it shud go on Boyahda Tree rampage...Rampageee....:D

Me and My best friend are both in a static and Rng/Nin. So i do a /sh can anyone come kill Aquarius at <pos>". So i get a /tell from Pik the kick *** BST. So he forms and alliance and fights it. We told him we werent interested in the Cloth, that he could have it, we just wanted the Fransisca. So i invited his friend Gala, another beastly BST. Sadly their Cloth didnt drop but i gots me a shiny new axe. Woot

this popped right next to my camp in xp the other day. i target it thinking its a robber crab for me to pull, but its aquaris. so i /em shocked, and my pt starts pointing at it, and a 70 nin grabs the claim solo.
now people have said they have seen a high lvl nin soloing aquarius while in xp there, so i assume he is prepared with hi pots and send him a /tell in auto translate asking if i can have the axe, since its of no use to him.
he sends me a tell back saying yes, invite me. the nin is JP and doesnt speak a word of english. so i disband and invite him, and he is kiteing it cause he has 38 hp left(aquaris was at about half hp at this point). i guess he offered me the axe cause he neded help, so i have my rdm heal him up, and he goes back to work on it, and i help a little. supprising i had no trouble at all with accuracy in aquarius (56 rng/nin), but his def up and stoneskin made it kinda pointless without a rdm or brd.
but its AoE does like 50 dmg to the nin, and this quickly kills him after he takes a couple hits when he lost his shadows. nin dies, i died cause i was beating the crap out of the crab and got hate when he died.
nin could have beat it if he had a brd or rdm with him, dispell haste and the occasional cure would have made it an easy fight for him.
but lucky a pt of 4 bst that were leveling up in the tree claimed him soon after. i /tell one of them and ask if they need the axe and of i can have it, he tells me that i can to /tell the leader for an invite. took 4 or 5 pets for each of them before it dies, but they beat it and i got my axe. so thanks to thoe 4 bst on cerberus for giveing me the axe i need in 5 levels.

blm can solo very well =/ as long as the mob can be slept..

I believe he's lottery, since I saw a rdm kill him and he popped about 12 minutes later.. (all of the local crabs were being killed by two parties)
heh i was lvling in tree and as soon as i make 1st pull i see aquarius, so i tell my linkshell to kill it. only a lv70rdm could help me so he invited me to his pt(i had to drop mine), so he was kiting it around as i was shooting it, each time i grabbed hate i went the other way, it was 90% of time gravityd. and as soon as shadowbind was up i bind it and rdm and me could unload some dmg.
took like 3mins... no drop althought i wanted my axe but a rng was gonna pay 500k if we let him loot.. i told my friend to get 500k from rng ill get axe another day... now im 250k richer :)

Just to clerify some things: here are just a few job combos i have seen solo him
nin/whm thf/nin bst/whm
rdm/blm rdm/nin blm/nin
smn/whm nin/war many more too
It can be tanked toe to toe also if your up for it =) how do u expect a nin/whm to gravity it?

I saw a 75THF/NIN and a 60RNG/NIN take it. (The THF could of soloed it) We showed up 30 seconds late and missed the claim. We didn't think they could do it but to our suprise, they killed it would much problem. The Thief blink tanked it and used bloody bolts when he needed to. I'll have to hunt my axe another day.

When we got back to our camp Aquarius was still their unclaimed for about 15 minutes. So i told my high level friend to kill it, Right when my friend reaches Sanctuary of Zitah, some japanese uber Ninja claims it no drop though.

i watched a 74 thf/nin solo it getting hit maybe 3 tiems but used bloody bolts. the thf had some nice gear and im sure capped evasion but its definetly doable as thf/nin.

73 nin can solo this without too much trouble, but she brought me along for Haste, mostly. Took about 15 minutes but I got to see Blade: Ku a lot. Didn't drop cloth the first time I went with her, but it did the second. Sells for about 1-1.2mil on Alexander.

He seems to be able to spawn as lvl 70 or 71, because I solo him as 71SMN all the time (41 kills as of today) and I get 100 xp or 86.. it varies. Also drops 18000 gil everytime, francisca 100% as long as no one in the pt has one, and drop rate on the damascene cloth is 1 in 4 roughly. 41 kills, 11 cloths.
RDM can solo this easily at lvl 73 with blizzard III, takes less than 30 seconds to kill him. What they do is chainspell, gravity, bliz III till they're out of mana, convert, repeat till dead. BLM would be a lil trickier but with rdm sub I could see it happening. Also seen THF/NIN solo this, as well as BST.

I was wondering if a 65PLD 65RDM and 65BLM and take this... In Exp PT. normaly only the PLD RDM & BLM do the killing, Melee just watch...
i came with a lvl 64ish party me being lvl 66 rdm, lvl 64 whm, war, pld, and 2 mnks, . We all used our 2 hours got Aquarius's HP down to almost half but then the pld died in only 4 hits after invincible wore off. i died since i divine seal cure 4 after convert then a mnk died and the rest escaped. the lvl 70+ party who claimed it first got it and killed it by kiting it with carbuncle.
yeah... we "accidently" stole Aquarius from a lvl 70+ japanese party >.> bad idea =/
