soloed him with rdm/nin lvl 63 no prob at all.... had two crimson swords just for damage(magic)...

composure+refresh+haste+enstoneII+stonskin+phalanx+shadows+aeroII= too easy of a fight....
>spaming aero2 after it like 3/4 hp made it quicker but u could just sit there and hack away if you have time, and not worry he wont be able to touch your hp if you keep stoneskin and shadows up correctly ....
i think it's lvl 55 but it seem alot weaker then that. Well happy hunting

Soloed as a 65mnk/dnc. Took about 2 or 3 minutes cause of his healing and defense. ; ;
I'd say you could solo it pretty easily at about 55 or 60 with dnc sub. He didn't hit too hard.

I put off going after this guy for a while because I have very little time to play, which often means I go solo. Consequently, my interaction with my LS is minimal at best, and I'd feel like quite a leech for trying to drag someone away from whatever it is they're doing to help the guy who doesn't really contribute a whole lot to the day-to-days of his LS.
Anyway, I hit 55 DRG/BLU tonight, and decided I wanted to give him a go. I picked up two echo drops before hand, expecting him to try and rob me of HB triggers. I also made it a point to grab a Refresh at the East Altepa Field Manual.
The fight was easy enough. I didn't really land any spectacular hits, but it didn't either. He jammed me up once, but the flask of echo drops sorted that out. His Cure IIIs were obnoxious, but as I wore him down, I could tell that outlasting him wouldn't be a problem so long as I could keep my HB triggers going.
All in all, the fight maybe lasted 4 or 5 minutes.

Hey, just wonering if anyone knows if this NM is solo'able by a lvl 60 soon to be lvl 65 pld?

I *nearly* soloed this as a 56 pld. here's the method: buff up, spawn him, drag him to away from the others. Fight him as usual, but dont bother enfeebling him, save the MP for cures. When you run out of MP kite him around between the spawn point and the party areas, do figure 8's for more leeway. Heal yourself when you get enough room between you and him. Be sure to voke him at regular intervals or you'll lose him. If he gets too close and hits you a few times then give it a sec, then he'll cast flash or banish II, which'll give you time to outrun it and put some distance between you and him. When you have full MP and health then repeat. This method lasts about 40 mins but works. It took me 35 cause I yelled for any high lvl that had a minute to spare while I was kiting him. After that go back to the spawn point and talk to it, you'll get the polishing stone and your good to go ^^...

My friend DRG42 went to get this quest so i went to help him as DRK41. we get to Altepa and are waiting for another of my friends to show(DRK65) anyway. we see a PLD and say mabey he can help. we asked and he said ok. so we get there buff up and rest. DRG pops it and PLD automaticaly takes hate.. me and the DRG where hitting for about 50 and the PLD just kept on vorpal blading whenevr he hit 100%TP. anyway after about 6min hes at 1/4 HP and i said ***** it and souleatered. I hit twice for 100 apiece and brought him done more then PLD hit with vorpal blade and i Finished it off.. what i found out is this thing is vicious with enfeables.. Absorb-Vit didnt stick at all...

Soloed as sam/war75, was a joke. He hit me a total of 2 times. You cannot silence him in any way, the silence effect on Tachi: Gekko did nothing all 4 times I used it. Could have easily killed him without using my 2-hour, but felt like doing a Light SC on him anyhow.

So does anyone by any chance know what lvl it is? wouldnt be a problem to know for those of us who want to kill it but dont want to risk it.
Fought this guy today with my 60 WHM and a friend's 70 RDM We buffed up, rested to full and I popped the NM- We soon found that We couldn't silence the NM, even after using elemental seal, so the RDM just focused on nuking it while I focused on healing, re-applying haste and Regen and curing silence, and threw a few banish/holy spells when it was down to it's last sliver of HP- no aggro or linking while we fought it

can I solo this guy with my THF lvl 56 with decent equipment, Utsusemi and Bloody Bolts? I need this for my drg will soon be 42 :D.

I went with 350k+ on DEF and EVA gear, one taco, one pamama au lai, 3 yagudo drinks and some echodrops..
I died when it was 15~20% because it killed my wyvern.. maybe next time i'll go with life belt instead of swordbelt+1
The fight was kinda long(about 8mins) and bored..(yeah.. he's a pld)..
just do it like we do it hehe.. its kinda easy.. just don't use high jump.. and have one call wyvern stacked.. just in case..
(yes, i hadn't :P~~.. i'll fight him again in weekend or so.. i'll tell you how it went..)

Well got drg to 40 and immediately went to take this baby on. Got my party of a 61 rng/nin, 43 rdm/whm, 46pld/war, and me 40 drg/war. We got there, rested up and started to build tp. But as the pld was resting he and the rdm D/Ced.
The rdm came back after a few minutes but not the pld. We decided to take our chances and I triggered the spawn. The rng used shadowbind and I jumped and high jumped for a few damage. After the bind wore off Decurio went after the rng. We did fine until a Sabotender popped right on us and aggroed the rdm. She died right away. Rng used EES but it was clear we were done for. I told him to run and voked Decurio so he didn't lose mega xp. Didn't work. Some more ants linked and rng bit it (delevel). I ran as fast as I could the other way, even made it to zone when sure enough there is Decurio right behind me with a bind. Links took me down (delevel). Rng finally got a raise and what happens? Decurio goes after him again from other side of Altepa. He made it to zone though.
So just a warning. Kill *everything* in the area before fighting this *******.

Did this today. And by did i mean two level 75s did the work. All i did was spawn it and about 400-500 damage all up.
But i posted this so that i always remembered Skyfang[b] and [b]Skidmark.
There isnt much to tell. Skyfang was a Sam/Rng 75 and Skidmark was a Drk/Nin. Im not even sure if Skyfang had Ranger subbed, but if he was anon i would've been mistaken for him being a Ranger main. The damage he was doing with his attacks meant that it was hard to tell.
Either way, this guy would've been dead in under 30 secs with the damage he was recieving. Cept he used Invincible. All it meant was that it could watchon as it was getting owned for another 30secs.
So once again, thanks guys for your help. If you are looking for some capable members for Dynamis or HNMS ls I would definately nominate these two guys. They make my Hall of Fame, for what it is worth. Hall of Fame

Killed him a few hours for an LS mate of mine. PT was 49drg/whm, 43drg/whm and 75bard/ninja (me). Didn't use up any shihei on him, sang dual Marches, I tanked him while our drg's just stabbed away, I landed about 4 eviscerations on him over the course of the battle; mainly for 100-300 damage. Our drg got pretty low once i lost hate due to having to sleep several links from around the area. Used invincible at about 33% health, was a fun fight.

Soloed with 62 NIN/WAR. completely decked out in EVA/AGI gear minus the wind staff cause it's lame XD. He never even hit me once. Hit with katanas then cast elemental ni spell over and over and over again casting utsusemi as needed, let off a Blade: Jin every now and then. he never even stood a chance. Total wuss.

Soloed him as 71SAM/THF for a friend. Not too bad, but he does have pretty high DEF and Magic/Abilities can do some good DMG. I think he left me with about 300HP when the fight was over. Also, he has a decent amount of HP. He has pretty low-end Accuracy and doesn't do too much dmg/hit. Recommend going in with Silence and Blind.
Anyone know if you have to do this as DRG? I've opened the quest but I'd rather do the fight as my 61 WHM if at all possible (as I'm the only healer I know).

killed it today with my ls, me 60drk/30war, 60sam/30rng, 41drg/20rdm, 40drg/20whm, and 53thf/26nin
i opened the battle witha 300% guillotine for around 850, sam followed witha sidewinder for around 850, the drgs just poked, about 1 min into the fight he invincibled, no big deal. he didnt cast a single spell though cause of my guillotines silence. got a second guillotine
off towards the end for 410 dmg, sam did around 4 or 5 sidewinders.
all in all, not a hard fight with a couple lvl 60's, have fun all you drgs wanting af lance

My other char (deleted) on caitsith server took on this guy with me (43 drg) a pld (45) a smn (54) and a rdm (50) and he was SUPPOSEDLY supposed to drop drg af??
anyway i never got to find out because i got whooped.

havnt read all posts so i dont know if it is alrdy answered, but can a lvl 61 drg/whm solo it with help from 1-2 other lvl 40 drgs? i hit 40 soon and a other drg in Ls is 40 too and we both need lance so another drg (thx zostriana^^) wants to help but dosnt know if he can kill it.

Did this with a 41, 40, 51, and 60 something drg and a 58 smn and 56 nin. Easiest thing ive ever done and got skill ups like crazy. Didn't require all those ppl but isn't it just more fun to some it in about a min and a half?
