Hello Forum,
This is my first post, but I've been reading this site for 10 months now. Yesterday, 74RDM/WHM, 74THF/NIN, 65DRG/WHM fought OSE on SIREN and lost yesterday pretty badly, only got it down half life, so our group (lvl 60-63) and another XP group alliance up and claim it. Our tank got the drop. Not sure if the high lvl party got an add or if they just needed a tank - but I didn't expect them to all die. The day before I saw a Taru 75NIN/WAR, 75THF/NIN, and a 72+ RDM/??? kill OSE with ease. 2 XP parties allianced should be able to kill this NM - but in this case we only had to take out 1/2 its HP. Noone was close to dying. Just posting my observations.

Was in party in onzozo i look on scan and he is out. There was a JP party so i say (Notourious Monster) Ose (Do You Need IT?) they say ok. The alliance forms i pull and we kill (Almost killed paladin) Drops jerkin and whisker, i lot jerking 967! Winning lot, Lot on Shisker 988! Winning lot. Too bad im ranger, at least i can skill up my axe with it. :)

My party allianced with another party while exping here, 61-62 party's, other party had a NIN tnak, I was a PLD. NIN wanted to tank so he tanked ... for 5 seconds, his HP dropped like a rock, after Utsusemi:Ni shadows fell. After he died, I tanked, no other deaths, never lost hate, NIN is not *always* the best...
(Also Ose's regular hits have an additional effect of paralyze, annoying)

Actually bubba, I tanked this guy (as part of a 2 xp-party alliance) awhile ago as a 63 Ninja. Had no problems, got hit maybe once. So stick that in your gallant leggings and smoke it!

please problem with ninja is, once u loose ur blink and cant recast ur **** out of luck and for hate control u guys need serious help. yes ninja tanks are needed on many NM fights but dont think ur better then PLD. PLD holds hate and keeps it, all u do is bounce it around
Had the parse running during xp parties, found this guy and killed him.
He's got 8900 HP just so you know.
Killed him 4 different times, got the whisker all 4 times and the Jerkin once.

Was lvling here when i was lvl 60 and Ose poped, my party was low 60 and there was another party here as well so we made an allience and killed him. It was a good fight but not that hard, only one deeath

we killed ose with 2 pt's lvl 62-64 used 2 nin tanks he went down pretty easy.. i thought it'd be cool to get the jerkin when it dropped but... i lotted a 2 -_- lol didnt i feel stupid

i can easily duo this with a brd or rdm helping me... i'm 75blm and help casts sleep after i nuke.. then i nuke or rest and repeat

I manage to solo this NM as 75 RDM/NIN, it took me long though to kill it becos I had to recast utsusemi and stoneskin everytime...
damn the stupid cat didn't drop assault jerkin after I kill it... This usually drops alot with TH2 :(

H-5. If you ever exp off of Torama in Onzozo, you'll know where he pops. It's in the same large room you'll be pulling from. Since you'll probably be sharing that tunnel with another party or two, the easiest way to take this guy down is to alliance your parties when he pops. Easy kill with 2-3 60+ groups.

We bumped into Ose while exping, with a part of 60 - 62. We started out ok, just like your normal fight, then OSe did a special attack that dropped our Paladin 800 points. He gets hit again fast down....where at the same time whm does benediction. Whm down. Then I cast escape...gone.
There was a lvl 62 - 64 party next to us. They tried to take it on too....boom....down went their Paladin. Their party warps.
Seems to be this guys is doable with a NIN blink tank. Well we will get him later.

You say Ose did a special attack for 800+ HP...and yet to my knowledge Coeurls only have two TP-based attacks, Chaotic Eye and Blaster, niether of which deals damage. Are you sure he didn't just triple attack with a chain of criticals?

i fought ose a couple days ago. and i believe he has another tp attack, there was an animation that ive never seen before, it wasnt a WS or a Spell from a PC. although it didnt get close to dropping the pld tank. also i lotted 981 on the assault jerkin!!! ima macro it in with arhats gi for my nin.
If I can solo a Tough quadav and have spent the better part of my past 10 levels soloing for skill ups (and fun), is this thing soloable as a level 71 red mage? I hear 73's can do it, but 2 levels is a lot of difference in the 70's.

Ose is soloable by BLM or RDM at 70+ in my opinion. As long as you have someone that has paralyna. Since the spell is a really low level spell its not hard to just get a friend to hang out and camp him with you with whm subbed. Doesn't matter that you dont have the +INT gear for Ose until 73, he will resist more maybe and your spells won't do as much damage possibly but its still very possible. Easier for a RDM since there is refresh and convert. Food helps, I used Melon Pie +1's at the time and just popped them before i pulled him. But yes its possible just may take more time. Good luck tho and happy hunting it feels really good to be able to take down this guy and watch parties of 60's fall in front of it :-D

lol, just killed this in an exp party 61-63 w/out alliance, set up was NIN, WAR, RDM, BRD, RNG, RNG. took us about 7 minutes, but we did it and kept chaining exp right afterwords. >=D
dont try doing the same though, its just incredible what a nin, rng and brd can do in the same party =D

It doesnt drop Couerl Hide it drops H.Q. Couerl Hide (the same type Torama, the placeholders and exp mobs in the spawn area, drop.) On my server H.Q hides are 800 at AH while regs are 2k. (sigh)

Men.. HQ Koeurl Hides.. if they are at 800 GILS at your server and you sell them you are NUTS... just go to the NPC shop and sell it for 1.3~k (dont remember exactly) and make money... dawm ppl always forgot to check the price at NPC ^^

Killed multuiple times while lvling there. Just killed it duo 71 blm , 67 rdm. No danger, the rdm's stuck 24/25 times. Gravity always stuck, and bind always stuck (though not for long). Took about 12 stone IVs (~660 dmg) and finished with a blizzaga III (~1080 dmg). Only got wisker. 75 blm or 75 rdm should have an easy time soloing it.
Was in an XP party in Onzonzo. Two parties were in the tunnle pulling Tora's. Other party spotted Ose and asked to alliance.

Ok i spent many hours soloing Ruby Qaudav for my testimony as a 70 RDM, and Ose is no different really. I solo this NM for fun from time to time because since he's always out and no one fights him unless they are sure to win i just solo him for friends to get them the jerkin.
Simple strategy as 73 RDM, with the Errant equipment and dark staff i pull him in the cave where parties lvl and make sure i have my back turned to him at all times keeping gravity on him and i just sleep+blizzard III him and rest in between sleeps. it takes approx. 30 min. but very doable. (Note) Ose uses one of his two abilities at half life or so during the fight: the silence one will have no affect if back is turned. The paralyze will affect you but if you are getting the jerkin for someone just have them sub whm for paralyna its low lvl spell, and with that your set. I've soloed him at least 10 times now and ive gotten jerkin. Ose has about 9000 HP and his spawn is not definate since he is a lottery pop. Have fun with this NM if you are a RDM or BLM hes easy to sleep and you will have and easy time finding ppl who will pay you to fight him for them especially DRG! :D

I don't know if this is one of the NMs who's time got changed with the recent patch, but we were there for at least 4.5 hours with no spawn, and who knows how long it had been before we got there. Didn't even drop the Jerkin. >_<
lol, that sucks. He popped twice tonight in about 4 hours of leveling. First time a party of 61-62 party tried to fight it....PLD, WHM, and RDM ended up using 2 hours. RDM drew too much hate after a convert,DS, CureIV and got killed. They ended up alliancing with the other party that was there expin. Dropped jerkin for them which a DRG won the lot. Second time our party allianced with the other party that was there, beat it but no jerkin for us ; ;.

our rng pulled it yesterday by mistake O_o when it was to camp we were like "is that a new mob?" then when all melee missed for a min we noticed it was an NM >.> but we allied with the other pt lvling by us and its a JP player that had a lvl 70 BST that got it with 990 :/ am blm so i dont really care >.>
