One of my friends, today in linkshell, had asked for some help camping this guy. I say I will, head off to Gustav.. As well as another member.
Me 'n THF are running through Valkurm when the RNG starts freaking out because he got him and.. Um.. I assume because he was dying. :0 Well, either way he died. So, I go, intending on R2'ing him for his 70 back (Deleveled).. The THF follows a WHM who has just claimed the thing (Why would a WHM want this, I don't know, they weren't even in a party).
This WHM is just casting Dia.. and zoning. We just kind of stare, I'm medding, as we're intending on taking it out.. And the RNG (Weakened) casts Shadowbind as it goes unclaimed.. Well, after that RNG dies again. R2 him, and one of our RDM friends comes.. They pull it and just start smacking it.
For a bit I thought it was going to rape us, as I kept getting low on MP (They didn't let me med for too long!) and hate was bouncing back and forth between the RDM and RNG sometimes.. I had Stoneskin up constantly as I took a hit once or twice.. Anyway down it goes.
And it drops the Obow. My RNG friend starts freaking out (Was talking about quitting the game because of this bow ><). Lots and gets it. Was actually a fairly easy fight.. Would have been easier if the RDM could just hold hate (But would be the fun in that?), but still not really that bad. ^^

This thing can't be LV70-75. Last night, my XP PT there had to fight him because we were the only group there and he was slowing the XP. The PT was NIN59, DRK59(me), WHM58, RDM58, RNG 57, THF 57. Round 1, the RDM had to Chainspell Escape, but we had him down to 10%HP or less. Round 2, we pwned him. No bow drop.
What really killed us was that I couldn't stun the B. Toss. Kept resisting.
If you don't believe me, and you're on Kujata, ask Noada, myself(Ryoshi), Chirara(JPN), Malinn, or the THF57 or the RNG58 (Cause I can't remember their names at the moment ><).

So, LS mate wants the bow for his RNG, said it was spawned, so I change to /THF, haul out to Lower Jeuno, pay a WHM 1000 for an immediate tele-dem, grab a chocobo and get to the tunnels. By the time I get to the camp, a RDM from TheForsaken (high LS notorious for underhanded NM methods - training and such) was scouting it. Drachlox had hidden himself way in the back, surrounded by lots of crabs and goblins, and I had run past a few members of the high LS on my way in. So what's a 61 MNK/THF to do?
Kick some ***.
Popped flee, ran in, chi blasted it, then ran for the zone, PLD voked it off me. I zoned out and back in, just in time to get some gil AND SEE IT DROP.
RNG is now nicely equipped and thoroughly happy.

I camped this ******* of an NM for 5 days, I claimed and killed it 8 times, got it to drop once.... 1/8
I stayed there for a good 5 days, and managed to learn a few things about this NM:
1) There are only THREE Place holders, the Place holders are the BST Goblin Shepherds. NM pops in those three Place holders, just a matter of when it decides to.. (The three PH are right by the opening of the usual exp camp, 1 on ur left, 2 to the right / center)
2) Each Place holder pops every 15-17 min, and not always in the same spot, they have a very LARGE spawn range. Killing all the shepherds is a waste of time and hp/mp. (Trust me)
3)Kill the surrounding Goblin Mercenaries / Crabs, they can provide you a marker for the next PH pop if you kill them before killing PH (Get creative or just TOD it)... also you won't get gang raped by them once the NM does pop.
4)His pop time is 2-8 hours, don't get discouraged if a group of people come in to claim it after you do all the work, just try harder...this game tends to get unfair.
5) Bring TH3 if possible...it helps

I rounded up some people from my ls to help me. Because they were too low of a lvl, i teamed up with two partys that were xping near us. We killed it and a few people died. The obow dropped. I was so happy that i was finally going to get it after camping for around two weeks for it. The people passed and i lotted. My lotting was a bad idea, always lot last on items you should recieve.
A person in the other party, Devastator, lvl 59 war, lotted on it at the very last second and won it. Right after, his party disbanded, and as you could tell, he didn't make too many friends that day. He lotted because he believed it had some 'value' to it. (idiot)

Just got through beating this guy. Party was 70+NIN,70 NIN(me),70 RNG,70+ SAM. Very easy fight and it dropped bow. RNG was oh so very happy. That makes 2 NM's killed today. Earlier killed Pelican in kuftal tunnel in an EXP party. Got drop there too....I subbed THF and got last hit in. May or may not have helped.

I was in a party at Gustav, killing gobs, and crabs. We saw this thing, and continued to get exp then finally decided to take it out(or try to). Party setup was PLD, RNG(me), SAM, WHM, BLM and RDM. We did kill it eventually, fight took about 7 mins or so. BLM used manafont and nuked the crap outta it lol. So, it is possible to take this thing out at around Lv57. As well, we also got TP to 300% before pulling it. No drop though :(

Just saw a BST75 tame a tough Antares,famailiared it,and killed NM with ease.Death scissors did like 2k to the NM...eagle eye missed completely LOL
Someone told me he poped, so Myself (74 Rng, I have the OBow) 71 Rng, 71 WHM and a 66 PLD, we beat him with ease. His EES hit one of my shadows, PLD did great, other Rng and I just beat him up. Bad news no drop for other Rng, next time.

with a good pty setup of 55-56 this NM can be taking down easily

No need to make this long. Exp. party, 58-59, Pld, Thf, Brd, Whm, Blm, Mnk...killed two days in a row. Brought 75 Rdm. first time cuz Allak said it was 70-75. Whooped his *** np. Nextday, I, as Thf., almost pulled without thinking twice, levelling repetitiveness is only excuse for not paying attention better. I stopped myself just b4 arrow went and we talked it over. Decided to try w/o help. No 2 hrs., no red hp once, whooped his *** np. Moral of the story? This kat is overrated highly. A well balanced exp party will have very little if any trouble at all. Don't be scared and don't lose pop waiting for high levels to help, they are not necessary. 2/2 and will gladly pull without warning next time. Valefor server. Have fun!
Well me and my pt of lvl 56-57 was exping here yesterday and saw 3 lvl 60's going for whm's testimony and saw this guy so we allianced and took it went DOWN like cake droped bow and all of the above took about 5 minutes.
Earlier yesterday I was reading about this guy thinking how cool it would be to have this bow. Anyway, as luck would have it, I later got a PT in Gustav. After an hour and a half or so I saw him. Out PT was a 54 NIN, 56 THF, 56 BLM, 56 WHM, 56 MNK(me), and 56 RDM. Half the PT said lets go for it, half didn't want to die. Finally, after we figured pulling would be near impossible with him there, we decided to take him. I was first voke so the THF and NIN could do a SATA SC, and got 300-350 point hits. I noticed he was really starting to take some damage some way through the fight. However, out of no where, our NIN gets to yellow... orange... cured to yellow... red.... dead. By now the BLM has started casting escape, but I have to make the honorable sacrifice for everyone to live and voke him >_< by now the WHM is dead, so I have no heals and go down just as escape is casted ;_; I could care less about the exp loss (got a raise II) but I would have loved to see that guy go down for the wyverns, hehe... Anyway we were there a while and no one came to kill him, until my connection started ******** up very badly and had to leave so I would't cause any deaths, but I really hope someone killed that bas*ard...
Killed him with a 57-58pt. Pld had to kite the stupid gob so we lost alot of dmg potential and had the rng pick off at him, no blm.

If you're well rested and have a good DD party (i.e. two rngs and a thf -.-;; )he's not so tough. We were approximately 58-60 with nin, rng, rng, thf, whm, rdm. Everyone except the rdm and myself was japanese. Our puller spotted him and they conversed to themselves, then decided to pull him.
Well it wasn't so bad at first. He only tossed one bomb at the beginning and that was easily remedied with some Cure IIs. The nin kept up utsusemi, I kept the nin hasted, she only lost hate when the rngs Sidewinder/Slugshot. Unfortunately near the end he did some massive attack and killed the nin, then the two rng EES and nailed him. No drop.
Next day I went back for exp'ing and our party made an alliance with the other party behind us (12 lvl55-60s) and pwn him. Drop. Only rng in the alliance got it, too. ^^

my exp pt and a nearby one allied up on this dude when he popped between our campsites. i was the only rng in the alliance of 12. we were all 57-60. this guy hits pretty hard for an rng, and despite 2 ninja tanks, he managed to kill 4 of us. he got the other pt's whm, their rdm, our rdm, and me, the rng. our thf mugged him for 1500+ gil, and he dropped bow, gold bstcoin, gob mask, couple crystals. so now i'm lvl 58 rng with a lvl 67 weapon sitting in storage...
I saw him popped 3 time yesterday. First time I helped a Lv 75 rdm and it drop the bow, second time some lv 70+ monk try to slow it and almost beat it, then someone else killed it. third time we were there but our tank don't want to alliance with another party so we just all left.
Will sleep arrows/bolts work on him?
Partying in Gustav with my static, this guy popped. I believe we were all 58-59 at the time. Being greedy, we rushed to claim him. The whm did not even have half his mp, my HP and MP was low and the ranger was subbed WAR at the time. We got him down to 50% HP with the RNG --> THF Sidewinder --> Viper Bite SC, at which point he used Eagle Eye Shot on the ranger, killing her with a 1700 DMG Blow. The mages ran out of MP shortly thereafter, and then we just started to die. We could have beaten him with our 58-59 setup of WHM, RDM, PLD, WAR, THF, RNG had our HP/MP been full. Well go back when the Ranger needs the O. Bow.

I have already gotten the bow a few months ago camping it.
It is a lottery pop, from the goblin sheperds around that area. Myself and another rng, Olarin, lvls 67 and 70 took him on easy. We had a lvl 70 rdm, rickster, and whm, arista, with us. Halfway at 50% hp he did his Eagle Eye Shot which was absorbed by our Utsusemi.
Yes it is possible to spawn him at 2 hours you just have to kill the placeholders.
p.s. Stagz you suck ^^

um i just camped him for 5 hours, no pop.... what a load of crap, the people before me were there for 4 hours, so 9 hours no pop... !!! ?? WTF!!?

it is probobly a 21-24 hour spawn
I've watched him die and pop 1:45 afterwards. I've sat down in there for 5 hours and never seen him once. His spawn time seems to be completely random.

we were exping on the gobs down by the spawn...when we get asked by a rdm/bst trying to solo it to help him....mugged him for 938gil and he dropped 1330 gil, 2 fire crystals, gold beastcoin and.......no crossbow.....oh well, just have to try again later.
