Weird Glitch on Faust

Killed Faust last night, luckily due to a weird glitch.
Right when the Ninja pulled him into the Blue Teleport room, I casted Stun, then Bind.
While we waited for the Ninja to pull hate, Faust never moved from his spot.
Even log says Bind wears off.
So the mages begin to spam spells it.
And still, Faust never moved from the position.
We finally got it down to 5%, and started gathering around it to take group screen shots.
It was pretty funny and weird.

Anyone ever got this glitch with Faust?

I sent a Correction... Faust doesn't "Detect by Sound" he is Sight aggro (And from very very very far away, in fact, he aggros from outside of a Players sight range, he sees you before you see him (If he's facing you of course))

"I would even go so far as to say the best RDMs and BRDs are completely unnoticed in their parties. After all, when a support class is noticed, it is typically when they miss something, and are being spammed/yelled at because of it. This type of job holds little appeal for those who want recognition."

It literally spammed typhoon every minute. This I found interesting b/c the only ppl doing any damage to it were the blms and rngs. Which leads me to believe 1 of 2 things - it either has ridiculous tp gain or that it can use typhoon freely ><

Fought him last night w/my god shell... WHM got link from two other dolls by casting reraise in the hall T_T We all wiped...
Second time, I let the PLD borrow my Earth Staff, he used Invincible right off the bat to keep hate, he still ended up losing it, and it somehow got onto the THF, who two houred and ran around the room... made AoEs hit mages, a few people died, but we still killed him.
Bottom line, don't try to kite him, it only makes hit AoEs hit everyone. PLD should be the only one near him, all melees attacking should use ranged attacks and mages should nuke him.
RNG and especially SAM/RNG are ideal DD for this fight, as they can WS frequently and make good SCs, longer he stays alive, the more dangerous the fight becomes, as the PLD will inevitably lose hate if this fight drags on for more than a few minutes.
Long range.

Faust got Enormous Aggro Range.
If you pop in the room Closest to him, hope you got Escape, or can invis fast. -_-
Not that hard

I've done Faust too many times to count. He is almost always up when i go past him to EXP (near ullimumi spawn) Kinda hard with a 6 person pt, not impossible, but hard. 12-18 is prefered as you have more leinencey with what job/level you can bring with you. Basicly he spams an AOE attack called "Typhoon" it wont hit a PLD hard but will and most mages and meele. Trick is not to hit him so he wont gain TP. How cna he be defeated if you dont him him? Simple! have the PLD in the corner of the teleporter of Ullikumi, give him about 30 secs go gain major hate, then /ra <t> and Nuke nuke away! only Utsumei casters may go in to use TP! then run away quick so Typhoon doesnt get you! HE goes down fast but hits the PLD hard, (Earth staff is recomended, as well as Vital Etude) Just have a WHM and RDM in the pt with the pld and have them use cure III and IV only (with a good PLD, IV wont be needed) Hope this helps^^

Plus even ranged attacks and spells would give him TP anyway, and him hitting the PLD would give him TP.

The only way to kill a mob while giving it as little TP as possible is to use DoT spells.

Dr. Faustus* is the actual character name from the german play, in it he makes a pact with the devil for infinite knowledge and a demonic servant who can disguise himself as a human and grant him wishes(mephistophilis, anyone whos ever played diablo 2 might recognize the name), of course at the end of the play the devil comes to take his soul, big suprise.(this author of the play is generally credited as the first to use this concept, now a cliche) By the way the play is called The Tragedy of Doctor Faustus its very short too, but a classic.

I was reading the book "Faust" for a while. Pretty good. I saw this name and thought of that.
oh.. he aggros
# Sep 04 2004 at 12:14 AM Rating: Decent
He most definetly aggros. He hits hard too. The fact that he guards a monolith needed to get to the room where you EXP off of golems doens't help matters much.

Best bet is to put invis/sneak up, wait until his back is turned, open monolith, invis again, and then run like hell.

He never faces the monolith, he just watches the corridors. Use prism powder or tonko, get behind him, hit switch and reapply. You should have no trouble making it out alive.

He's also a character from Guilty Gear. He's the really tall guy with a paper bag over his head who fights with a Bo. He's really fun to play as. :)

And I think he turns all demon like, you know, the whole downside to making deals with the devil.
more than one Faust

(I know the name is based off the Dr. but this is just too good for me to let go.)

I would have to assume that this mob really isn't named off of a character in Guilty Gear. It could have come from any number of sources. Faust is a last name, even today. I'm fairly certain that Faust is the name of a play starring an alchemists, I believe. I'm just saying, I doubt a fighting game inspired this mob's name.

(I know the name is based off the Dr. but this is just too good for me to let go.) Does he have a huge scalpel (sp?) as a weapon, has a bag over his head and is 10 feet tall, and throws his bags of goodies and stuff??? :)
