Went back up tonight with the BRD and RDM from last night, a BLM61, PLD61, and RNG60. He was there and we decided to try him out. Unfortunately, as we got him down to about 75% health the bats popped near our camp (Right on top of his slept bat) and people didn't listen in time to get camp moved to a safe spot. The BRD died and we were all screwed, only got him to 50% before we died.
So we Raised and partied for about 2.5 hours. He slowed us down because I had to pull around him, but they weren't too eager to give it another try. Finally, the BLM, RDM, and BRD dinged so we talked the BLM into trying again. We learned that the RDM had called in a few high level friends to help, but before they showed I saw an opening to pull him and did so. Ticked the party off because they hadn't full buffed themselves, but after all the time it took to clear a path last night I wasn't waiting.
Anyway, the fight was incredibly tough because I missed 2 of 3 Sidewinders (Resulting in only one skillchain) and had a one-hit Barrage. The BRD ran into a little trouble Lullabying his bat and nearly died and a few AOEs put everyone into low HP, but after the RDM Converted the tides had turned in our favor. His friend, a high level RDM arrived at this point with a RNG75, but was only able to throw a few backup Cures in. Pallas went down and left us with his stinking socks but no bracelet yet again. Didn't even get a Crystal this time, as Qufim had gone to the beastmen.

Was up in Upper Delkfutt's decimating the floor with a level 57-58 party of RNG/NIN, WHM/BLM, BRD/WHM, PLD/WAR, BLM/WHM (Incredible JP player), and RDM/NIN. Pallas popped right after the BRD DCed and we sat around debating between bat pulls for about 20 minutes whether to pull him. Eventually the PLD asked a WAR74/THF28 who was farming the floor below if he would help, and the BRD finally reconnected, so we formed an alliance to fight him. Unfortunately, this guy links with everything but the Magic Pots, so I had to clear and re-clear the area for 30 minutes to finally have a safe pull. So I pulled him to camp, we Lullabied the bat, and we went to work. Went smoothly enough that I'm not sure the high level help was needed, but I did pull aggro a bit early and would have had to really hold back had the WAR not been there to take aggro from me.
Anyway, we got his socks and a crystal, no bracelet. Wasted about an hour on this guy but I still got the 17K exp I needed to level to 59.

Anyone else worried that this giant got HIS name from Pallas Athena, the Greek goddess of Wisdom?

Me and my pty were in delkfutts tower lvling,(21-23) and we ran into this guy. His back was turned so we went up closer to take some pics. We got some pics then got out of there. Our WHM had to go afk. Unfortunatly he picked a bad spot to go afk...right next to Pallas. So i looked back and i see him getting whooped by Pallas. Then Pallas kills him and comes after us. We try to fight him and we got him to 50% HP. Then he 2 houred us and it was similar to "Hundred Fists". After our pty died he went after the other 3 ptys and destroyed them. Then a 75 DRG came and whooped him.

i think hes talking about Hippolytos the giant in lower unless your party went exploring into upper but i dont believe that cause youd get aggrod before you even get there
This guy can charm your party members. I had a lvl 60-61 party fighting him. Our RDM got charmed and started whacking on the WHM. He said he got locked out of his menu so he was helpless to do anything. As for Pallas we got him down to 1/3 health but 3 of us died and the rest escaped out. If I had to guess i would say he is about lvl 70-72.

Just a tip, when fighting Gigas Beastmaster NMs, don't kill the pet. It's far safer to deal with the Gigas using Familiar and making his bat or whatever stronger than having him Charm one of your party members.
I belive you are referring to Mimas.

The fight was intense, but we rocked it.
MNK BLM BRD and WHM all used 2HRs (Benediction landed after it died btw.)
The Pet was a pain in the *** when awake.
No drop, sadly.
One of the most fun NM fights I ever participated in. I wanna do it again

They should have gotten a pic that had just him instead of that magic pot in the center and Pallas off to the side.
If you look closely Pallas actually is in the middle with the pot off to the side.
The pot is closer to the middle of the screen where most people look though.
