Very fun

We did this with RDM (me), PLD (Elendyl), and BLM (Naxes). Because I had duoed 5 of these "WSNM's" we had no strat, so we just killed the crawlers and went in. All I can say is, wow, does this guy hit hard. I highly recommend a blink tank for this, as I actually took hate a few times from the PLD by spamming cures. His cursed sphere was pathetic, however, and didn't even wipe my SS. All-in-all a very fun fight, so if you hear a shout for it, join in.
Duoed as MNK/NIN and BLM/WHM

After reading some of these posts, I was somewhat skeptical we could duo this. But I must thank previous posters for the very helpful tips.

As 75 a Galka MNK/NIN "Littlejohn", and my son as Taru 75 BLM/WHM "Bigjon" on Ifrit server, we made a surprising quick dispatch of Beet Leafhopper.

I brought an Icarus Wing, Vile Elixir and a V. Elixir+1 just in case. I do recommend antidotes as we were hit with poison 5 times during the fight. I highly recommend using sole sushi as this mob has high evasion. I am a fully merited Monk, so I do believe that added an edge.

We started by killing 2 Processionaires to TP up, popped Beet and drew him to the opening of the tunnel.

I started by letting loose with a 3 boost chi blast, (LV3 penance), then Asuran Fists, the IW, then Howling Fists. Asuran landed for 470+ and Howling hit for 553. Bigjon commenced with Paralyze and Slow which helped a great deal during the fight. As posters have stated, Beet rarely misses, and without slow and paralyze, it would have been a very difficult fight. Throughout the whole fight I was able to keep Ni and Ichi up easily. I think I was hit a total of 4 times during the fight for 130 to 200 damage each. The rest of the damage came from the poison WS this mob uses.

After Howling Fists, I hit Dodge, Focus and Hundred Fists. I only needed to use Ni and Ichi once during the 2hr and used unboosted Howling Fist to keep as much 2hr dot on. Drawing so much Hate, Bigjon was able to nuke away starting with ES Blizzard IV. Being Fires day with moon at 86% waxing, he also used Flare II, Freeze II and Burst II. His spells were hitting for 475-600 and AM spells were hitting for over 600 ea with a high of 745. His Manafront added some kick *** magic damage.

At 1/3 HP left on the mob, My hp was 1320 /1990 on sole sushi. I used just a vile elixir which brought me back to 1900 HP. Thinking, since there had to be something more to this mob, I would save my 400hp Chakra and V.Elixir+1.

The last 1/3 of Beet's hp just seemed to evaporate with Bigjon's manafront AM. Not once did he get hate and my last Asuran Fists landed for 675. Overall, too dang easy, especially compared to Stolas, the Archery WSNM in cape Terrigan. I believe we finished this mob in under 6 minutes without much fanfare. But I must repeat, Slow and Paralyze made all the difference.

Good luck fellow adventurers,

Entirely possible that a rdm/nin can solo this.

My friends and I just beat this. Rdm/Nin, Blm and myself.

My Blm friend and I just basically watched. I shot the occasional acid bolt and blm threw a cure now and then, as well as ele enfeebles.

Basically the blm and I only made the fight go faster and kept the rdm from having to use convert. Hate was on Rdm/Nin the whole time. Great fight.

Thanks Cendero (Rdm) and Lurkuu (Blm) of Fairy server. {/bow}

It would be better if you didnt post things with a subject that was false.

I just went to try soloing this thing as rdm/nin. Someone else posted that it has very high accuracy (makes sense as its the WSNM for rng). This was very true, in fact I don't think it missed me once, although I did parry several attacks with only 140 parrying. I even stopped bothering to use BlindII because it didn't miss even while blinded. SlowII and Paralyze were the only way I was able to stay in the fight. I ate MP food which was a mistake. I had a terrible time hitting it even with SH and PCC. Need to eat sushi because the thing has ungodly amounts of HP as it is, so you need to be hitting it consistently or it will just wear you down.
Paralyze worked very nicely and ParalyzeII would make a substantial difference I'm sure. Even so, I was only able to get it to 80% before it simply wore me out. It will break a capped stoneskin in 2-3 hits (I remember a crit hit for about 330 damage) with the gear I was wearing (middle of the line gear, SH, AF1hat, AF2hands, AF1pants, Cfeet) and has a tendency to proc double attacks at bad times. It is also surrounded by Decent Challenge to Even Match crawlers which will agro you, so you need to kill them first, but you need to kill 2 of them to safely pop and have a place to fight. And because of the time required for rdm/nin to solo anything... they will repop.
It's wind based which makes it resistant to gravity, I got resisted but I did not have full enfeebling gear on so it might be possible to land it, but difficult I'm sure. I dont see it being pulled past the crawlers, the goobbue, and the crabs to a safe place to solo it.

You underestimated the difference that a blm and a rng make in accelerating the process. It is not soloable except maybe by the very best equipped rdm.

??? to pop NM is right inside the tunnel at G-10 of the 2nd map. Clear the surrounding crawlers, click ??? to pop it, kill it, then click ??? again to get the Annals of Truth (key item).

We killed it today with party of:

75PLD
74MNK
74BRD
72RNG
67WHM
64SAM

Easy fight; it doesn't do anything special like spam WS or the like. It's basically just a slightly-higher-level Darter with a lot more HP.

250+ weapon skills would be inaccurate since evisceration is 230 and savage blade is 240. what you are looking for is 230+ weapon skills and they involve WSNMs.
