Vana'diel Bestiary: Eight of Cups  

Some more info on the quest:
- I don't know how long mute lasts, so I set my HP at the crysal in Port Windurst, just east of the Orastery. Then when muted, I just used a Warp Cudgel to get back.
- Eight of Cups are are found in the West Sarutabaruta tower @ F-11
- First I went as a lvl 75 job and quickly realized that this mob will not enfeeble me effectively. Warped back to change to a lower job.
- Came back as a level 40 WAR and Eight of Cups were easy prey, low eva+low defense.
- Mute is inflicted as an additional effect from Eight of Cups weapon, but EoC is also capable of casting Silence so don't get the two confused.
- Both times I became afflicted with Mute, it was within the first few hits.
- I read that Mute is a stronger version of Silence, and cannot be removed with Silena or Echo Drops. That is incorrect. Just as my Warp Cudgel was used, my Signal Pearl NPC casted Silena and was able to dispel the effect. Don't let this happen to you ><
- The quest is called "Catch It If You Can!" but it doesn't show up in your quest log until it's complete.
