not on widescan?
# Sep 16 2006 at 1:38 AM Rating: Decent
For some reason these mobs do not appear on BST widescan list. I was looking right at one and checked widescan and it simply was not there. I wonder if this is a glitch? It's not an NM, and even if it was it should still appear on WS like all the others. Strange. :/

They appear on WS, it is just that in the spot where they pop, that tunnel leads down to a new map. So most of the time they will be on that 2nd map, as opposed to the same map at the top of the tunnel.
Sleepable?

Ovinnik
by John McCannon

East Slavic spirit of the threshing house (ovin). Russian and Ukrainian threshing houses tended to be two-story buildings, heated by a furnace; containing highly flammable grain, they were horribly vulnerable to outbreaks of fire. Consequently, Eastern Slavs considered the ovinnik to be the most malevolent of their household spirits. To contain the threat of fire, a threshing house was built as far as possible from the main dwelling, so the ovinnik was also kept well away from the household. To persuade him not to start fires, peasants periodically offered the ovinnik roosters and bliny. Like other Slavic household spirits, the ovinnik could divine the future. On New Year's Eve, peasants would allow him to touch them in the dark; a warm touch indicated good fortune, a cold touch meant unhappiness in the coming year.

They don't "detect your sneak"... they see you and swipe their claws at you. They aggro by sight as everyone else has already noted. Sneak for the cockatrices/cactaur/crabs and Invis for tigers and Ladon.

They Detect by Sight -- Either that or have true sight. They DEFINATELY! aggro.

Barblizzara from a WHM or RDM/WHM will help with resistance of their paraylzing ability. It's an ice based skill so it will allow occasional resistance to the AoE Parayalze skill the tiger will use.
