Soloed it as BST75/WHM37.

Charmed a slime around ??? spawn spot and drag the mob all the way to Hakutaku spawn spot, using Million Eyes as pet. It took about 45 minutes to kill. One mischarm even at CHR 111, nothing too bad since tame was up.

/hurray new WS >:D
Duoable

Duoed this with a BST/WHM as RDM/WHM yesterday.. long but pretty easy fight.. Dropped down from the O.hat NM ledge, and pulled the NM to the ledge, bst handled it from there, all I did is refresh and couple of cures. 40 mins fight, and I died from the tonberry, but had RR up.. so, not a big deal.

Did this last night with a WHM75/SMN37, WAR75/NIN37, and RDM75/DRK37 (me).

Cleared the Mousses, Scorp and bats, then WAR Sneak spawned the NM.

WHM and I faced away. WAR/NIN couldn't tank backwards, so the WHM was ready with Paralyna for Hex Eye. I couldn't Silence the NM no matter how much +skill gear I added, so I just debuffed what I could, backed up the WHM, and kept my finger on the Stun button as much as possible. WAR just kept hacking and spamming Rampage.

Didn't take too long, maybe 10 minutes or so.
duoed it like a cake

me and some JP bst just duoed this thing... 75bst x2 and yet another peice of cake. it was really easy... yes!!! i do mean easy!!! this is what we did. we go to HKTK camp, charmed 2 tough million eye and 2hr on it. then we dropped down from the right side of the ciff near HTKT camp and run south where the ??? is at. poped the NM when there is no mob near the ??? and just let the pet roll. it wasn't hard at all 2 tough million eye get it to 55% before both of them die. we just use the jelly and bat and scorpion near that are and took down the rest of its hp. i only used 1 pet food on my pet and so does the other jp bst. hope this info helps. good luck on ur battle.

I just went on a Hakutaku run and got them to kill Mokumokuren for me. It's easy to get to the Moku ??? from the Haku ???: just drop down on the north side and head east along the wall a couple of map squares.

Of course, the rest of the group wasn't excited about having to walk all the way around to the Haku ??? again, but someone pointed out an easier way: everyone but me stayed up in our camp at the top of the north drop while I went and popped Moku with Sneak on. He just stood there, so I pulled him back to the bottom of the cliff and one of the NINs voked him up to the alliance to kill it.

At this point I went back to the Moku ??? since I couldn't do anything to him from below. When he died I checked the ??? again for the key item, and then only I had to sneak/invis back to the Haku camp. Nice and clean, and now I have a pretty new WS.

Yeah 1 hour seems about right, tried doing this myself and found the hardest part was coping with mischarms and the initial 99999 mile pull. Personally I'd 2hr some T Million Eyes, spawn, attack, walk some distance away, Heel, and drag him back to where you got your mob. You might want to stop along the way if you find a clearing and reattack so he doesn't lose ya and wander back.

I think the Million Eyes are roughly 10 min spawns, there's usually plenty of them at your disposal. Another thing.. this thing eats magic like mad. My pets did Aeroga III for 68 and Fire IV for 128, Go with 100TP Sics for Hex Eye over a TP<100 Magic Move regarding Eyes.

We beat this very easily with a small horde (9?) of people levels 68-75 or so. We camped a bit north of the ???, cleared out bats, tonberries, and scorpions. I sneaked passed the Mousse and popped Mokumokuren. He seems to aggro even with Sleep (he Stunned one of us), but it gave me enough time to get away from the Mousse. He used no high-level magic, just a lot of Death Ray and Hex Eye. It's not even tough to hit. After it died, I resneaked and got the key item for Spiral Hell. No trouble.
Not that hard.

Why would you build 300 tp before Guillotine? Guillotine dmg doesnt rise with more tp :P

You're kidding right?

TP with Guillotine only adds to silence duration, not to damage. This info can be found under the description of guillotine in the game.

Finally got around to killing this yesterday. This guy was easy for our party, even though we had only 5 people and no tank. Party was:
74RDM/NIN (tanked it)
75DRK/THF
71DRK/THF
70WHM
75BLM

DRKs built tp to 300 before fight and tricked guillotine onto rdm/nin. Drks continued to trick the RDM whenever they had tp for guillotine. We looked for spells to stun, but this guy cast no -ga's or ancient magic on us at any point (combination of luck and added effect of silence from guillotine I guess). One thing to note is that you CAN sneak-pull this; we cleared the tunnel by where be pops, I sneaked up and popped it, then we pulled it with range.

Only thing that was troublesome was finding the ???, since I couldnt find clearcut directions to it anywhere. But heres the best I can tell you.

Get to where hakutaku spawns. I dont know how to get to him offhand, so I cant describe that for you. Once you get to hakutaku, there are two cliffs nearby, one to the south and one to the north. Fall down the cliff to the NORTH. You will be in a large room with tonberries, mousse, succubus bats and scorpions.

In this room, hug the right wall and continue to head NORTH, never leaving the main room. Continue to head north and you will see two stone pillar-type-things. The ??? is there. There is a tunnel just north of the ??? that has two mousse and bat spawns, we fought it in there feeling it would be safer than the big room. From that tunnel, sneak the person who needs to pop it, let them go to the room and pop, run back, and someone pull with range. Again, we had no problem with having to stun nasty spells but dont count on our luck.

Other than that congratz on Spiral Hell ^^

because it induces a longer silence duration which is probably IDEAL for such a monster.

I think not. This guy by no means is unbeatable but it was a tough fight. He claims he went in with 5 ppl. Well I went in with 8 all 71+ and was still a 6-8min fight. Mind you we did have a Mousse add that made it more difficult but be sure not to go thinking 5 is ok.

5 is ok, if you're good. :p Done with rdm, whm, brd, drk, nin. Perhaps level range was 70-73 or 4. Never in any danger.
The NM
# Nov 24 2004 at 1:49 AM Rating: Decent
First off i would try and give directions, but i cant, because that place is a maze, and i would only get your lost probably, my only solid direction i can give is its close to Hakataku.

As for the NM himself, pretty darn easy, beat it with 5 people no problem. The pop point itself is in a pretty rought spot, but basically all EP mobs around so easy TP builders for the most part. This NM hits slow, and never really hit me at all, and didnt hit hard at all the few times(im 74 war/nin, the rest was 74drk/thf, 74 brd/whm, 74 blm/whm and 74 whm/blm). You need at least 1 stunner for the fight, but consider basically this NM is only gonna be with at least 1 drk that shouldnt be a problem. The hardest part is getting there safely basically. Just dont do anything stupid, and stun anytime it tries to cast any big spells, other than that this NM is not hard. Btw gave 133 exp for us :p.
