while having aggro from 2 crabs, which we tried to keep asleep. Battle took around 5 minutes.
Be prepared to get hit by Level 5 Petrify, Sleepga2 and Thundaga3, these are the main problems that you will encounter. Other than that, Agas does not have too many HP so you should be able to kill him rather fast.
I touched the ??? at 4:59am and got the moondrop key item, so it doesnt despawn at 3:00am.

at 60% the bst DCed, i had to kite him 10 minutes around where he regen to 90%
we took him down after 60 minutes.

Easy... since most of these people were 72+
I hardly did anything :D
looks like it has about 11000 hp.

3 Beastmasters level 68+ can take this out. Start by charming and 2 houring skimmers, use these to pull Agas down to the lower area. From there on out use mandrogora's. The skimmers will knock this down to about 1/2 life. Always make sure there is at least one pet on Agas keeping him occupied, while the other bst's get new mandies. Total fight time about 10mins/15mins.
2 BST68+ are enough, pull him to the tunnel and just keep swapping out mandies until he dies (see pic in my post below). More are safer of course, and make for a shorter fight (15-20 mins with 2), but we were never in any danger at all.

That was a very tough fight because I mostly had to use Tough pets (Skimmers 72-74, Korrigans 72-75, and the odd Steelshell 73-76) and had a lot of mischarms. Without my WHM friend to heal me at a few critical moments I would probably have died. But I have no doubt at all that I'd have an easier time at 75 when most pets would be DC/EM and could take him solo. Took about 40 minutes to kill him.
Btw, my WHM friend is zoned in that pic because she caught aggro and she was then trapped in the Cloister by a crab at the zone. Unfortunately that meant she didn't get credit for the kill so we had to pwn Agas again, this time with another BST70 friend which made for a very easy fight.

I think I could probably get some friends together and pimp this fool.
I was exping at the spawn point over the weekend with a lv. 63-65 party, when an alliance of 8 lv. 68-73 players came along and asked if we'd help kill Agas. I remembered the quest description on this site saying a lv. 75 pt could take this if there were no links, so my party agreed to give it a try. We allied, buffed up, and proceeded to absolutely destroy him... and the three Steelshells that aggroed us. We had absolutely no problem whatsoever.
The moral is, if you have at least 5 or 6 people in their 70s and some good 65+'ers to fill out the alliance, this is a pretty simple fight. DEFINITELY have a Red Mage who's handy with his Sleep II and Sleepga macros because Steelshells pop all over this place. A BLM would probably work too, but as a Red Mage I'm always biased :p
The moral is, if you have at least 5 or 6 people in their 70s and some good 65+'ers to fill out the alliance, this is a pretty simple fight. it's tough man. i saw a party of 70s have trouble with this thing when we were camping steelshells.

Just a heads up, Agas will not pop on a New moon, we learned this the hard way. New moon= no moon= No agas allowed to pop. When you click the ??? it says no moon can be seen or something like that. The moon doesnt have to be full, just can't be a new moon.
Level is not based on how tough they are, it's how much exp they give to top level in your party and how many people are in your party. NM's are stronger than normal mobs of the same level, and have 2 hours, which they can use multiple times in one fight.

It took a full alliance of 60-65s for me tonight to do it. 2 tanks died, one healer. not worth the effort, wait till like 70.

had a 75BST solo this NM for me, went very well he used all the black mandies and killed it in time for me to get the item before 4:00
