Just duo'ed as 75sam/nin and blm/sch. started with a 300 tp Sekkanoki and dropped Rana > Gekko, darkness for about 2700, then 2hr'd and dropped Yuki > Gekko > Kasha , with a burst 2 mb for another 5k ish. fight lasted about 2 minutes total, near the very end, he hit me with Eyes On Me for 700 and almost put me down, but meditate + gekko finished him. i'd say he has around 8k HP maybe 8.5. defense pretty low, every ws hit for about 1k w/o attak food. easy to zerg, 2 sams with 2hr would be pure murder w/o him getting much chance to do anything at all. don't waste time with bst or smn pet fight lasting 30 minutes, just rape him.
solo as bst

This guy is soloable by BST/whm or /nin, your choice of play style. Just stay out of range of ga spells, Crabs and flies should do fine, or go down below and 2hr a VT spider, to get the job just over 50% done.
Agas, No beastmaster

Just did this. Party of 4. Mnk/nin (tank), Sam/war (took it easy at first for the monk), blm/rdm (stun duty, stona duty, as the only one not suseptible to para), and me, rdm/whm (just healing, haste, n enfeebles)

Was too weak, blm
    stunned most spells
. My para and slow stuck. And melee took it apart. Fun!

I'd recomend a blm to stun if not going with beastmaster,
And definately at least one person with stona,
It was pulled out into the water, and mages were able to stay out of range for sleepga,

Note: Monk in this party also had enmity merits.

Edit: Just checked log, He did on average 150 dmg per hit.

Took him down today as Rdm/Bst, with a Thf buddy who also needed the scroll. The fight took just over 30 mins (I know it was 30 as my food wore towards the end).

The plan was simple, throw pets at him until he dies. Whilst me and my buddy stayed back trying to do nothing at all to generate hate. My main pets were the Black Mandies, they kick some serious butt, however these were not always availiable (there were a few BSTs farming goobs up there with them). So on a few occasions I had to resort crabs (Which were also in short supply due to Skill up parties) and flies.

Overall it was a pretty easy, if somewhat lengthy fight. We only ran into a few problems, first were a few troublesome mischarms, they were handled easy enough though, if I mischarmed I would sleep the mob, and gravity the NM, my buddy would then accomplice me for hate and then kite the NM whilst I try to recharm and then wake my pet with petfood.

Second problem was we lost hate at one point when I was pet swapping, I ended up mishcamring 3 times in a row, and because we were out of range of the NM we didnt realise we had lost hate on it until the damn thing had regenerated half its HP bar.

IMO any competent BST would be able to solo this fight, I just went rdm/bst because I feel safer hiding behind full powered buffs ^^

I know this site recommended at least one full party, but my LS and I didn't have enough patience to make one. So we pulled this off with a 75BLU/NIN, a 75DRK/WHM, and me, the 69BLM/WHM. Our BLU was doing most of the damage, and I'd throw in some III/IV nukes. Otherwise, I'd heal the other 2. Was about ready to manafont when Agas dropped dead.

Enders LS on Titan rules!

This guy was easy with x2 War/nin x2 MNK/war x3 RDM and me BLM

Fight went well wars/ and mnk beat the crap out of I nuked /stun and healed a bit rdm enfeebled. Wasnt hard just petrify was a pain, me being only stunner.
not a hard fight, easy to tank

jsut did this with 75thf/war (me), 70 blm 75 whm 70 rdm 70 thf and 75 blm.

i tanked this as thf/war prett easy. only prob was when it did lvl 5 petrify -- fire4---eyes on me. luckily one of the blm's got stun off before eyes on me hit me. the first time it used eyes on me i took 175 2nd time i took 700. so it is resistable

fight took us about 3-5 mins, my feint timer (10 recast) which i used at the beginning had around 4-5 min left on it.

i dont remember seeing any -ga's or AM. most spells were stunned. hit me for 100-125 id say idk i wanst watching rlly. not much acc for any nin or thf's who are up to tank this^^
So Easy

Errr....Either this has been patched, or we found this ridiculously easy. We had a BLU for Stun, NIN tank, SAM, RDM/WHM and RNG. All lv75.

Plenty damage was done, I (RDM) Chainspelled at 50% and with a Dark SC we wiped it from 50-0 in about 25 seconds.

Didnt see a Petrify, Sleepga, or aga the whole battle, which took 2 mins tops. So I dont know if we were overpowered, but it didnt seem all that hard at all.

Edit: checked the log, it tried Mind Break, Flare, Binding Wave, Level 5 Petrify, Eyes on Me. Blu stunned 4/5 so we got bound but meh. Go Eclyptic!

Did this the other day as a 75 BST/WHM for someone. We had a 2nd BST that was level 72. He 2hrd a Korrigon and I charmed an EM (to 75) Korrigon.

We only used 1 1/2 pets each. I don't even know if the other BST got another pet or not. I was expecting this to take forever, but he was dead in a matter of minutes.

Don't use steelshells, it's much quicker to just use the Korrigons.

Just beat this guy today he was sooooooo easy. We had a BST75 SMN75 and me a RDM75 I popped him then SMN let carby attack and BST let her korrigan attack I just stayed Healed/Refreshed/Cured when needed and it was an easy fight. Only thing Was the BST got hit with a Blizzard IV which wasnt bad only took about 400hp from her total life. Its a very easy fight with a BST and SMN/
Not bad as he sounds

Killed him yesterday with 75 THF/NIN (me), 75 SMN, 64 BLM, 64 WHM. A good stunner or two and a WHM for Stona are invaluable in this fight. Got my shadows down a couple times and hit me for 100 - 150. Eyes on Me did 700. Cure V comes in handy then. No experience granted, so he must be level 55 or lower I guess.

Last night me and buddy from my Social LS were working off some latents(Him on his WPN of trials, me on destroyers), when I suggested we trying to fight Agas(jokingly). He quickly agreed, so we got there and prepped. He was a 75nin/war and I was a 75mnk/whm with a 58 Soothing Healer NPC. We didn't buff, or even eat food beforehand. So, we spawned him, I popped my two-hour, and quickly brung Agas down to about 1/4 life left before I died. It looked like we had it made , as the NIN popped off a Blade:Jin and Agas had about 2% health left. Unfortunately, Agas ThundagaIII and one-shotted the NIN.

So after re-raising and duoing some more steelshells, I went back and changed to /war, got a R2 Hairpin and some food, we tried our luck again. This time Things looked very bleak as he Petrified me during the middle of my two hour. I died with Agas still being at nearly half-life, but I quickly re-raised. We built TP and did a Liquefaction SC(jin > asuran), then 3 hits later(and me at 100 life and the NIN at 57) Agas died. That was easily one of the most exhilirating fights I've ever had! Absolutely insane. So now I have a scroll of sleepga II for my blm when it gets up high enough to use it.

Soloed this 3 times so far as 75 BST, I think once I was 74. No problems. Just stay out of range of AOE and you will rarely get hit. Power to the Beastmasters!

lol I've done the same thing about 5 times now. People are always shocked when you tell them your going to take it on solo. I just recently joined a hmnl ls so i'm trying my best to be helpful. So I told a sam and a smn I would beat him for them. The smn goes should I start shouting for help I said no lol i'm taking this puppy down myself. People are always shocked to see us do our work, but I love the wow factor and i'd have it no other way.

I just tried doing this guy the solo way, first time I poped him and he didnt aggro so I let him despawn, checked the ??? and it just said that "You can see the moon from here".

So I zone, come back and pop him again. Let him kill me then use reraise once he dispawns. checked the ??? before 3:00am and it still says "You can see the moon from here". Any idea why I am not getting the key item? I have done everything else leading up to this quest. The moon was about 65% Waning Gibbous.

I got the scroll this morning with a random group of JPs. If you want this scroll, I highly recommend buying mine off the AH! ^_^

The fight was incredibly easy for a decently rounded pt over 70. I was 72, and I'm not sure about the others but everyone was over 70. Me, blm, whm and 2 melees with nin tank.

I couldn't silence him, but para, slow and gravity stuck fine. The melees got tp beforehand and the fight was easy- no real significant damage taken. He didn't try to cast too many nasty spells, but they might've been stunned by the blm, I don't remember.

Agro wasn't an issue. There was an xp pt right next to us, which helped I guess, but I think you can be safe if you have everyone stand on the grass.
Not as bad

Soloed this 2 times now as 75 BST.
Its an interesting battle. Only 2 things that can really ***** you up is petrify and sleepga but petrify wears fast. Korrigans do really well vs this.

Just tanked it as a 75RDM/37NIN. Had 2 Paladins there, another 75 RDM and a 75 WHM. We first had a 71 PLD tank it, we could not keep up with curing him. Undoubtably, Eyes on Me is the most dangerous attack, doing 600+ dmg each time.

Agas is a very fast mob, and our lack of evasion skill will work against us here. Fast Cast most likely will not be able to keep up with this mobs attacks. In addition to Eyes on Me, Thundaga III and Firaga III can quickly turn the tides in its favor as well. Luckily, Agas can be bound and gravitied if you need to buy time. However, if it puts up a fresh Magic Barrier, you're out of luck for a little while.

Also note you will need heavy damage to avoid a prolonged fight. Agas will regenerate HP at a fairly slow pace even whilst being attacked. It is recommend you Bio II, Poison II, etc him in order to ease the regen rate.

I used my attack gear, and ate a Meat Mithkabob for damage. Was hitting it for about 50-60 a hit, had no problems holding hate. PLDs would Flash or Cover me for a moment when I needed to recast, due to the high speed of this mob recasting Utsusemi Ichi can be difficult. Stoneskin will be taken out by this mob in about 4 hits.

I recommend you use Ice Spikes, since that seems to have a more prominent paralyze effect; though it lasts shorter, it could save your butt.

Also, beware of those evil crabs that will aggro you from the back. The area you spawn Agas at is relatively safe to fight at, provided you wouldn't be moving much. The waterfall to the Cloister of Lightning is also a good place to fight without being too crammed for space. Though, two crabs do pop around here, so hopefully there is a skill up PT here, if not, might want to fight it at the spawn point.

Okay, enough babble. It took about 30+ minutes for us to defeat it. Note we had no 'true' damage dealers, just two Paladins, and an RDM/NIN doing most of the damage >.>;.

Relating back to if RDM/NIN can solo this as asked below. I highly doubt it, even with a WHM for back up, it's simply too fast, and its spells and abilites can really turn the tides if you don't have a few people to watch your back. If anything, have a stunner or two, a WHM and perhaps a PLD if anyone is serious to having an RDM/NIN tank this. It's doable, but having some help will make a huge difference. Good luck!

Anyone know if this is soloable with a RDM75/NIN37 if I have a WHM out to the side for Stona (out of range or level 74 so he doesn't get petrified himself)?

Group popped this knowing new moon was coming, and we popped about 1 minute before it switched to new moon. BUT.. After we killed it was in new moon and we were unable to examine the ??? again... do we have to fight it all over again? ><

Went back today 11/6, and At 62% moon it says i'm unable to see the moon... Did I break the quest? :(

Well I asked around my LS for a week to get some help with this guy. Never helped so I just searched BeastMasters in the area of Boyahda Tree found a level 75 who was there killing a NM. I ask if he would mind helping me solo it, he agreed. It was very easy fight we kited it around maybe 2 or 3 times. A total of maybe 10 pets he charmed and when it was down to about 5% I used Thunder IV and we won.

The hardest part of this is not getting a BST to help but kiting can be dangerous in this area. I agroed my self a few steelshells I had to sleep then let the BST charm them after Agas finish it.

Overall I recommend you trying this all it takes is one /tell to a BST and if he says no ask another one. Better then /shouting in jeuno for hours.
