Vana'diel Bestiary: Colo-Colo  

I did this bcnm with some buddies of mine on shiva server. we were 19 bst/pld, 20 bst/whm, 20 bst/whm. it was too easy, 2 ppl charm the furies and attack colo, each bst 2 hr once a fight for three fights, one bst 2 hr every fight, then once cola is dead have the furie that has been charmed with 2 hr fight the other bat, but have it heel before the other bat is dead, so the 2 nd not charmed bat kills your charmed 2 hr furie, then kill the remaining furie after your charmed bat has died. we set the record at less than 5 or 6 mins i think, it was a couple months agao :) got a thunder pact first time, astral second, and a platoon spear (only thing worth anything ><) made 340k a piece over all :) hope that helps

went in with the following, whm/blm <me>, bst/whm, mnk/war.

beast charmed and 2houred a furie and set it on the other furie, monk voked and tanked colo, i cured everyone and meleed cola too. drop was platoon dagger and boomerang, thunder spirit pact, astral and a bat fang.

This BCNM is always easy if you just let BST 2h
just did it with
WHM/BLM
BST/NIN
RNG/WAR (me)

get 1 of the furys and use familiar, let it attack the Colo-Colo and kill the other one
when the pet goes down just hit the Colo-Colo with everything (didnt use 2h tho)

we tried again right away and we died, without the pet it's kinda hard to do it, we were halfway the first fury when pet turned on BST and we got killed (they went after WHM first so we died right after WHM died)

And we only got the thunder pact
but got ring on another run today with me as WHM

I think the best ways to do BCNM20 is either have a smn with avatars (can solo it sometimes) or have two BSTs and a mage. i think red mage or white mage would be best. the two bst charm the furies then the mage cures them up everyone rests then they get uncharmed so just do the same thing over again. Mage should stay far back though. Ive done this twice and worked out well but i didnt get very good drops. my friend who is a bst has done it 27 times without dying and the mage has only died once becuase he wasnt paying attention uhh you might have a problem with the charmed furies at the end ive never gone above the time limit thing with them so i dont know what to do

all you need is the right combination...lol soo easy...used smn/whm, smn/whm, and thf/war. thf voked and smn/whm's healed a bit and used their 2hrs, the 2hrs combined killed fury and set colo on the smns, and thf(me) came up and did a SA. whole fight lasted about 45 seconds-1 minute and it was a suicidal one, the smns had about 30 hp left and i had about 50. still, it was easy.

Can BCNMs be soloed with a smn/whm or smn/blm plz tell me.

I fought Colo Colo today with two LS friends and we severely kicked its ***. I'd considered being WHM or RDM to heal/buff/debuff etc but instead chose to go in with my DRG.

Our party was this:
1xPLD
2xDRG
all with WAR sub so we could share voking when PLD got low on life. We made sure we took a good few hi/x-potions so we could heal ourselves.

Our strategy, after buffing with food, was to all target Colo first, then all target one furies together, then finish off the last one. It worked out pretty well. PLD used Invincible to keep hate and save momentarily on potions and we finished the fight with most of our medicine untouched.

I'm putting this out there to encourage anyone who doesn't have a BST or SMN to hand that a strong melee offensive will also work equally well against Colo if you all target the same thing. (I'm also a little proud because this was only my second BCNM and we got the new record for the fight on Fenrir with 4:30. I'm sure it'll be beaten really soon tho ^^)

My only gripe is that we didn't get a good drop afterwards (lol). Ah well, will try again another day...

everyone's doing this BCNM with BST, is it possible to just have a Pt of other jobs?

1)I did this BCNM 4 times and died 4 times I'm sure my pt setup was crap but could someone tell me if it was possible to win ?

I go in whm buffs us i directly walk up to right fury and attak and voke other NIght soloes colocolo comes bak to help me after he killed colcolo furies. whm out of mp uses benediction-> dies, i use mighty strikes kill one fury then die rng trys to kill other one but dies had 1/4 hp left.

whm/blm some dude

bst charms fails colo and fury get me whm cures out of mp benediction DIES I fight bast charms fails charms fails charms fails and then dies and then i die .

3) Same thing as 2

4) smn/whm some dude
smn/whm some chik
drk/war me

i go all out lats resort bloodweapon some dude uses astral flow everyone almost dead YES! NOT some chik goes afk and just autoattaks THE ***** she just went afk can u ***** believe it anyways carbuncle dies some chik dies i sprais the word troughout sandy never to trust that ***** and thats it.

Is there one of these setups that could have made it ?

ok id like to say can i watch this myth of solo the bcnm cause its a lie...no way a bst can solo this without a pot load of potions. and also i have no charm problems with around 40 chr ans i have no signa or nobles ribbon and i charm first shot thought id share that. ive beat this one over 20 times as well.

Me and my buddies do this twice a day, most days... Hands down easy! I have a LS for it in which I have 2 static BCNM parties so I can do it more often. Basically one setup is SMN/WHM<me> SMN/WHM PLD/WAR, in which we easily broke the record with on Phoenix server, at around 2 minutes and 5 seconds. PLD runs in, vokes Colo-Colo, wait for all bats to attack him, me and other SMN have both Garudas out, 2 hour Aerial Blast on them all, PLD uses invincible or Hi pots, me and other SMN use Ether+Yag Drink - one of us uses Aerial Blast again, all dead! :)

Other setup is DRK/WAR<me> WHM/BLM BST/WHM. Me, DRK, runs in, solos Colo-Colo, WHM constantly curing me and bst if needed, BST also cures himself. BST charms one of the furies, if it fails, he uses 2hr. Furies kill eachother while BST rests, if BSTs furies is still alive, he waits till I have killed Colo-Colo, or he charms the others and does the same, then we all rest to full, BST leaves the battlefield, I finish the Furies off. Also, hands down easy! (Astrals almost everytime ^^-b)

man we tear through this bcnm every time that we do it... the party set up is bst/brd vengant(me) pal/war otheym and rdm/smn arkinum go in simple bufffs eat my flint caviar and pamama au lait pal does fish mithkabob and rdm no food run in charm the left fury (may take a few tries) pal vokes other fury we all melee one fury while colo kills my furies die colo should have half health or so get him and end it if you need a bst on ragnarok /t vengant

Would it be possible to do this one without a BST? I was thinking a BLM/WHM, a tank, and a melee DD. Have the BLM sleep Colo, then take out the other two bats while the BLM heals and continues to sleep Colo, then turn our attention to Colo when the Furies are gone. Would this work? We're not interested in setting the record, only in getting the drops.
