Was able to decently three man this as

56 DRG/WHM
56 RDM/BLM
55 BLM/RDM

Started with usual Paralyze, Slow and your usual debuffs and I (DRG) hit em early with a 300% Penta. RDM kept to healing and meleeing while BLM used drown, burn and nuke spells. The hate was everywhere since no one had a voke but healing breaths and cure 3s kept the group alive. Unfortnately the BLM died at 1% but we finished it off very quickly afterwards.

As long as you have a group of people who know what their doing and are not panicking the entire time this fight is either cake or a good challenge. Also just to note we had a DRK/WHM helping earlier (but no BLM at the time) and we wiped at 30% so it really depends on whether your on top of your game.

Quite easy to sleep/nuke to defeat this.

Very susceptible to all forms of magic.

Slow Blind Paralyze
Then Sleep and Bind it.
Rest/Nuke.

Rinse and repeat. Suggested 65+ BLM for this, if you're skilled.
huh....

I went at this as a 62 pld and a 65 rdm. You DON'T have to be drg to spawn this, just have the quest flagged. Anyway I was the 62 pld and my LS leader the 65 rdm, I asked the LS "Who wants to join me on a quest to kill a tiger?" to which he said "I'll come out on one condition, i want to solo it".... As much as I didn't want to I agreed. We got through Eldieme and made it to the island no probs. He buffed up minimally and I sat back and had popcorn while /cheer. Yeah this tiger attacks a little faster than other but nothing big, the cat definitely has accuracy issues. It took maybe 4 minutes and this tiger was dead. Rdm only used convert at 155 MP and proceeded to finish the job just to prove a 75 drk wrong about this (He said that it would claw out your eyes and S*** in them it was so mean). I would say fora 65 rdm it was an EP -- or Too Weak. I prolly coulda solo'd him as a 62 pld.

Good idea. . .yet doesn't work. The AF NM's are not sleepable by Lullaby, Sleep or weapons/ammo with added effect sleep (sleep bolts / arrows).

False.

We trioed the blind tiger for Gookie's AF as:

DRG54/WHM27 (Gookie)
PLD60/WAR30 (Gookie's friend)
RDM63/NIN31 (me)

Tanked the tiger with something arround +39 Evation and +10 Agility, just got hit twice after my stonekin dropped and got hit for 420+ Razor fang >.>

The point is, after Gookie poped the tiger, i opened with sleep II, and then debuffed the sleeping tiger with slow, paralize (I wasnt in the mood to get Ice spikes to proc), blind, gravity and wake up the tiger with bio II (im a fan of not taking damage, just for solo/tank use, not in XP), pretty much never losed hate save the moment after i got half raped, a Cure IV after and the tiger never dared to look anyone else (I think maybe Gookie did a super jump also, not really sure).

The RDM tanked, the PLD damage dealed, and the DRG damage deales and back up healed.

So yes, the blind tiger (i think i only used 4 shihei in all the fight) can be sleeped.

Whether or not it is sleepable, a lot depends on whether the sleep bolt procs. Never tried, but my hunch is it doesn't proc often and if it does, won't stick for long. Considering how fast this thing hits, shadows will be gone fast. And shadows are what keep you alive between waking it up with a bloody bolt and trying to sleep it with a sleep bolt.

Ranger has a lousy natural defense, without shadows, it's over in seconds.

Did this last night, it was very easy since i had some friends helping, here is the set up:
NIN70/WAR35
WHM75/BLM37
BRD75/WHM37
DRG50/WAR25 (me)

He fell down very fast, we had no problems fighting. I want to thank Yannita, Doris and Antha for helping me on unicorn server ^.^

Good luck if u are fighting this dude.

Duo'd this out.
SAM75/NIN37 (Elvaan)
BRD75/WHM37 (Tarutaru)(Me)
Pretty weak blind tiger.
Didn't have to sing, but... Just incase. :D
Well, I can call it "Perfect Duo."
Since we beated him while our HP is 100%.
Before and after match.
Went back to San d'Oria happily. Full HP.
As I said: "Pretty weak BLIND tiger."
Heh.

Duo'd as 67WHM and 61NIN (<3) NIN didnt even need me there. He didnt even have to cast Ustsus:Ichi. Yeah the cat has accuracy issues ^^. I did blind it, mind you. Also DiaII and Paralyse, which seemed to stick rather well. Beat it and I got my key item :)
RNG73 & WHM75 duo'd

RNG73 (me) (Weapon: Hellfire)
WHM75

Easily Duo'd.

Total HP is around 6500.

RNG73 did about 6075
WHM75 did about 407 (plus Dia II)

RNG73 took 3 shadows and a total of 843 damage.

There are no mobs on the island to get tp from.

RNG73 took between 79-105 per hit. Sturmtiger used special move for 158 and Paralyzed me. Sturmtiger hits fast but did miss often.

RNG hit Sturmtiger around 235 per ranged att. Slug Shots were around 1350 & Barrage landed for 1185.

Was extremely easy with this setup. I think a RNG using XBow (preferably OBow) can easily solo this with Sleep and Bloody Bolts. It would have been close for me to solo this by myself although it seemed possible with use of my 2 hour.

Go Dragoons!
Easy

Perfect Soloed/Duo'd this guy with a DRG in my LS who needed this. 75RDM/37NIN. Had mainly evasion gear on, missed about 90% of the time =). Incredibly easy. Took no damage. Killed it in about 3 minutes. Also had low def. 883 Savage Blade on it.

72RDM failed?

I was a 66rdm/blm (all magic, no atk gear on) and i solod it fine. Yes, it hits hard and fast, Stoneskin is wet paper to it. But its easily soloable. it takes Time and Patience. It was a long scary fight. its easily Debuffed and slept. I used NO food of any kind or drinks. I planned on dying when i started fight, but i lived. Play smart, and win... End of Story.

P.S. Yes, the fight was for me, i was a 52DRG at the time and had no help, so i went as my RDM.

50 goon
63 pally (me)
66 rng

I died when it had 1% of it's hp left.
rng and goon lived.

This thing is as if it has hundred fists on all the time. It's delay is as fast as beestinger and it has a double attack that almost always activates. So it was freaking hard to cast **** without getting interupted.

not so bad

Duod it comfortably with PLD69 and DRG50. Used a Yag drink and normal food.
Beat it with pt of 48-51

Setup was:
51 DRG/WAR
51 SMN/WHM
50 PLD/WAR
50 WHM/WAR
49 RNG/NIN
48 WHM/BLM

I personally didn't think we would win. Then I saw it hit our pally 3 straight times and wearing off his stoneskin after the first hit and I started laughing expecting to lose. Somehow we managed to take it down without anyone dying (awesome mages^^). Was a close fight, and pally was only one who got close to death. Here's the vid of our fight:

Soloed with 61 NIN/DRG, wyvern earring for haste, completely decked out in Eva gear. Jump + spammed elemental Ni ninjutsu + agility potion. Used Psersikos (or however you spell it) au lait for regen, had vile elixer and vile elixer +1 plus about 15-20 x-potions and a stoneskin torque to start the fight out with stoneskin. very easy. he attacks fast and double attacks a lot but his accuracy totally blows. Wear enough eva and agi and you'll have no problem keeping shadows up.

Note - I wasn't the one this was for, the DRG friend just stood back and watched as i soloed it. Although, when I get to 50ish pretty quick here it'll be much more simple to waste now that my NIN is 69 instead of 61

Just fought him yesterday party set up was:
73DRK/NIN <~~ me
75BLM/WHM
52DRG/WAR

He ripped through Utsu and when he did hit me it was for around 50-100. Blm had to spam cure 3 to keep me alive. His attacks are fairly fast but not to extreemly accurate. Simple pt of 50 can take him out unless your risky like my pt. Have fun.

We fought this NM for an LS bud in need of DRG AF2. Party setup was NIN54(me), 50THF/NIN, 50RDM/BLM, 51BLM/WHM, 50DRG/WAR. As soon as we entered the island we ran into Ahtu (Tree NM) and completely owned him, got the Key for the only person who had that quest active. From what we heard Sturmtiger can be a pain, and should be comfortably taken out by a party of level 55's. Let me tell you, this guy HITS HARD and FAST!! He ripped through my shadows like crazy, and nearly dropped the DRG a couple times, and nearly me at the end. Very close and exciting fight and it can be beaten with a very good party of low 50's.

Video of the battle (Windows Media Video approx 12.8MB)

I concur with CeeFive, this isn't too bad for a good party of low 50's. Beat him last night as:

52DRG/WHM
51WAR/MNK
53WAR/MNK
52THF/NIN
52SMN/WHM
52WHM/BLM

The main WAR tank (Oddly the 51 in this case) got down to orange once, but it was never a concern. I didn't even have time to do SATA+VB, though I did get 2 regular SATA's off. No one 2hr'd.

Like a post earlier said, this thing rips right through Phalanx and Stoneskin. I'm a 72 RDM and it killed me, I had my solo equipment on. It hits fast (almost Hundred Fists speed) and it hits hard. Stoneskin would wear off within 5-10 seconds, then, w/ Phalanx up, it'd hit me for ~80 dmg. Most of my MP was drained using Cure 4. It's a good thing I had Aquaveil up, while recasting Stonekin, this NM would sometimes hit me 3-4 times before I got it up. IF I had eaten a Fish Mithkabob, there's a small chance I might not have died. Be warned, I've soloed several AF1-1 and AF1-2 NMs before, and this is the only one I couldn't easily handle.

I used my 65 RDM to solo my NIN AF pants(lvl 54 pants) and the ghost NM on the ship was cake. I plan on going as a 62 nin when i help my friend tonight on this.
Beat it

it's easy to beat with a high enough level, it's just hard to get here if you don't know where to go.

Umm duh. Everything in the game is easy to kill if you run to a high lvl for help. It's much more fun to get a party of people together of about the lvl needed for the quest and actually fight the mob the way it was intended. I really don't think SE counted on people running with gil to high lvls everytime they needed something done.
kinda hard
