Killed this guy as a 22 WAR/11 MNK. He had me down to below 50% health. Didn't get the drop, not that it was wanted. I just came across this guy by luck and figured I should try.
Alright, odd thing. I came across this guy twice in less then 30 mins. Once each at both spawns... He killed me the 2nd time around, revenge I guess :(.

I suggest if you camp this mob bring some distilled water and windurstian tea leafs and of course Dark Crystals you'll get too many hides and you might as well try and skill up camped for 3 hours and unless someone swooped up on me still nothing...
at least i got Yar Ma Yara who or whatever has the item more worth the time.

I was on my to windy, when I pasted. Asked my LS if I should kill it some said yes some said no. I was only a 25 rdm, thinking it was going to kill me. I got off, and buffed up then debuff him and he went down in like 2 minutes. I didnt even want the necklace but it was well worth it for the pics >.>
I was killing dhalmels in Tahrongi Canyon as 75NIN/37WHM (For teleports) and see 2 really close to each other. I was there for meat for a quest in Mhaura so I begin attacking. Most dhalmels go down to about 5% in 2 hits with no criticals, this one was about about 60% after 2 hits... Guess it was the NM.
No drop, but I'm sure I would've dropped it anyway after finding out here what it was.
Since he did drop dhalmel meat, which I was after, you could say I'm 1/1.

No one really camps this, but it was the first NM I ever saw, so finally got around to figuring him out.
As the map shows, there's two spawn points for him. In the north area there is a group of three dhalmels. In the south area, there is a group of two dhalmels. Finally there is a placeholder dhalmel, which can appear at either camp. So:
North Camp:

The circled areas shown aren't really representative of the dhalmel spawns.

Just killed twice, once duo 15 BST and 21 BST, got drop.
Second about 2hrs later it pops, i had lvled to 16 about an hour previous and knowing there were plenty of dhalmel availiable i gave it a go, sending a fresh DC against it. Needless to say my dhalmel was promptly pulverised after taking what i would consider to be 10% off Serp. in the meantime i was running around finding a suitable dhalmel for the next leg, only DC nearby >< so biting the bullet i sent it at Sherp and 2hr'd.
Again my pet was promptly dispatched despite 2hr, and yet another DC dhalmel was sent to its death, this is when i paniced, i had exhaused the dhalmel stock around (H-8) so made a dash for the spawn points in front of the crag, where i found a DC and EM ^^. threw one last DC at it and by the time that died Serp was at around 15%.
Charm then failed twice on the EM even with all the CHR i can equip, which is typical of the situation >.> once it did stick however, i was at 80 HPs 20MP, so was kinda all or nothing by that stage.
What more can i say, that EM dhalmel was a legend ^^.
No drop that time but 112 EXP with the pet penalty from my EM dhalmel. Amazingly fun fight that furthered my newfound love of BST :)

I killed this guy twice in 15 minutes today (during Full Moon). Got the drop both times. Killed him once two days ago too, got the drop then as well. Killed on again in my BLM-y Youth. Got the drop then as well.

At least one NM loves me. Too bad his drop isn't worth the time it takes me to kill him. I'm going to try desynthing them tonight, but it probably won't work. >.>

Duo'd this thing as 17blu/war and 16blu/drk while trying to get healing breeze. Stun locked him with head butt spam so he was cake. He managed to get off a healing breeze himself and he healed about 30%-40% hp.
with 71 defense before cocoon he hit me for 15-25 with all buffs up, stomped me for 42.
84 xp as the 17blu, no drop.

I met this poor excuse for a monster at H-6 while looking for Air Elementals.
lvl 25 WHM/12BLM just hit it with my mecenaries pole and it was dead in no time.
it dropped NOTHING! just gave me a weak 33 exp

I just killed this NM in h-6 of the map. Easy kill with mnk 21/war 10. Used 100 fists wearing empress band only got 75 exp. Did not get the drop only hide and meat.

was running through Tahrongi on my way to to Jeuno i saw him just sitting there so i decided what the hell...easy enough as 43 DRG got the drop..not really worth it the pendent is only like 3k on Pheonix

Was going to windy from crag, saw him, i asked if he wanted to meet my fists, i decided for him, Raging Fists him for 449 as 41 Taru MNK get meat... Trust me, unless you want to brag about killing a NM, don't waste your time, did i forget to mention I've pwned him like 10 times before and got nothing...

He's not heavily Camped because the Cerulean Pendant isn't valuable, truthfully because it's not all that great. It's easy to tell he's not camped, because I got a Teleport-Mea, and there he was in plain View. I soloed him as a 29WHM/14SMN. He got a few good hits in, but all I had to do was use Cure III when I got too low for comfort on my HP. Got a few Dhalmel Hides, which I sent to the LS Leathercrafter or whatever.
0/2 on getting the Pendant, but I've never camped him. Both times I've come by and he was there, so I killed him because I could. I've seen him at both points.
If you want him, just keep killing Dhalmels. That's about as simple as it gets.

I fought this as a lvl 25 RDM I think. I accidentally ran into it and it aggrod me. I killed it easy and got the pendant. It only solg for 2k on Fenrir server.

Soloed this as a lvl 15 BST. Ate through about 6-7 Dhalmels ranging from d/c to tough. I recieved 189 exp and a Dhalmel hide for my trouble :)
Well I was going to Mhuara, when I see this guy trying, and failing, to fight this NM. So I got off my chocobo, and /say
"(Do you need any help?) (Disengage)"
So.. the guy waits for a while, untill his HP is REALLY low, and Im just standing there, waiting for the name to turn yellow.
All of the sudden, he calls for help..
im like /sigh, I guess hes a noob.. oh well
So I engage it, and kill it really easy, (I was level 45 samurai)
then I tell the guy
"You know that you should disengage on Notorious Monsters, they could drop rare items."
so.. he just looks at me... and looks at me.. and then he says
(I dont speak any English)
So I thought, ok, let me try and use the Auto translate.
I /tell him:
(Notorious Monster) (/no) (Call for help), (/yes) (Disengage)
so I wait for him to respond
Then he says,
"w"
and walks off...
what a great way to kill this nm,

I killed this guy, he hits about 1.5 times harder then a normal dhalmel on my level 37 WHM what is about as hard as a bull dhalmel maybe slightly weaker. he seems to have slightly less HP then a bull dhalmel and less defence. basically if you can take a bull dhalmel you can easily take this guy but why bother.
He isn't worth camping, he has no good drops and is too weak to worry bragging about. I killed him cas I saw what looked like someone zoning him and toke him off of them, and he dropped a Cerulean Pendant, I haven't even been able to shift it for 5K in the AH.
In other words only kill this guy to either save someone else or just as a normal dhalmel whilst camping (and you know you can take it).

I was farming back up to pre- archers knife lvls when i saw this thing, it said "Imposible to gauge" so i was hidding under camoflauge untill so i could ask my linkshell how strong it was, didnt get a answer so i said "/l im gona die" followed by "/l here i go" or something to that effect

NM starts running at me
Bobvob Uses uber leet Eagle eye shot: 350 dmg
Nm misses
bobvob misses with melee atck
bovob uses rng attck: 30-40 dmg
NM hits me for 7

Fire off 1 more rng attck and its dead basicaly, not to hard, probably didnt need 2-hr, took only 20 or so dmg i think
Only thing that makes this hard is if others link and the fact that it is basicaly a walking barrel of HP and Vitality,

Drop Grade: FFFFFFFFFFFFFFF-
Difficulty: LOW

man this NM is so worthless, ppl saw a crawler n an Serpopard Ishtar, they charmed the Serpopard Ishtar and used it against the crawler.
I saw this NM on widescan(G-6) for like 10 mins on during night hrs wit air element up. I was like, forget it..maybe later. I killed elemental, went back in 10 mins and killed it, no drop. dam wanted some dhalmel skin.
2nd time this NM popped again in 5 mins in south spot (H-8), nobody claimed it so I killed it and got dhalmel hide... well 0/2 on the useless drop.
I'm pretty sure there are 2 NM pops for this useless mob...

I did farm wild Dhalmels yesterday then this thing poped up. I checked it and it said: Impossible to gauge! So i asked in my ls if i could kill this thing. They said try. So i tried. It damaged me 14 and then 46 with critical hits... Then i used my 2hr, It had like 10 hp left when it killed me! Damn so close.....

I was farming Giant Femurs, picked him up on Wide Scan. Sharpshot+Barrage and a few arrows later and he was dead, only dropped a Dhalmel Meat, later I found out the Pendant is only 1k on my server anyway.

so then i stupidly charm a EM crawler, use familiar and send him after the NM
long story short i got fu**ed in the @$$. so then i port home, grab my 67 drk job and run back after it to find a 70 whm killing it, oh well /sigh
