Can i kill it as 27thf/13rng??? i need mary milk and i also need some more $$$ to lvl my rng cause of arrows and what not

Ok so it was like 11am and I had just gotten on and decided to stop trying to camp lizzy for a friend and go lvl my rng in dunes.
I head out and when I zone to the highlands, I see a lvl 14 drg running to the zone with wyvern right behind them. I looked and saw that there was a sheep chasing him so I got ready to shoot for some easy xp. When I looked at the name I nearly shat myself and spent about 2 min yelling at my ls to come help me kill it.
I got impatient of them not responding so I ran back to Bastok taking all the shortcuts I knew.
By this time my brother was watching me and cheering me on as I changed to my thf again and grabbed a bird and headed out.
By the time I got there Mary had already worked her way out of the maze that leads to the zone to N gusta and I thought she was killed. I had a crazy feeling and checked whide scan when I was in her pop area and sure enough she was one square to the north. I rushed over, dismounted, sneak attacked, and melee'd for about 40seconds and I got sheep skin, mary's milk, g. sheep meat, AND the Mary's Horn.
Needless to say, I nearly died from the shock of the whole experience and am still wondering if it really happened.

I was coming From Bastok going to Jeuno on a chocobo (to catch a ride on the airship to Kazahm), when i came through Kon. Highlands at the top of the hill at (F-9) there she was no 1 in sight!!! So i killled her got a Mary's Milk and a Horn... Lucky for me the horn sold for 250.000G in Jeuno... Bismarck Server!!!

Well yesterday after reading people's stories about finding Mary it was time for me to leave work. Yes, I check out all my FFXI info while at work, hey might as well get paid for it. So I have a plan i will get home and go a Mary hunting. I was already in the highlands since I was bored the night before, and I figured what the hell give it a quick run around before I warp home to try subbing my lvl 1 rng just so I can have widescan. So I get logged in and I turn to run around and there Mary is eating grass and no one else in sight. I get her and think this was meant I will probably get the horn since it was like she just was waiting for me to give it up. A few hits and she is dead, but to my sorrow no horn. Guess I will just have to deal with the 8k milk. That is what it is selling for in Sandy on the Shiva server.

got home from work last night and figured i'd camp Stray Mary for a couple of hours before Kung Fu class (i'm a lvl 15-20'ish ninja in real life). anyways, after about an hour 1/2 i gave up and went to class. logged back on later that same night and thought i'd camp her a little more before bed. ~30-40 mins of missing tremor rams ('cause i was RDM50/RNG5, so no Flee ><) i saw her pop up on my wide scan. well, she basically spawned about a stone's throw away from me so i got the claim. chopped away at her for a few seconds and was rewarded with her horn and milk. sold the horn for 200k, finished the quest, AND got a cool new title ^^

I killed this mob once before and twice last night. When I needed it for Sandy quest, it took me 6 days of camping until I finally spotted it. Last night I killed it twice while farming for sheep skins.
This could be a coincidence, but all three times, I found it at F-8, by one of those mills there. Forget the circle in the map on this place. On the first time I kept running around the area in the circle and ended up finding it (after 6 RL days) south of it.
Last night, the time between my kills was 3 hours and 15 minutes. I killed it at 9:45pm and then again at 1am. All three times on the exact same spot, south of the circle.
This could be a coincidence, but all three times, I found it at F-8, by one of those mills there. Forget the circle in the map on this place. On the first time I kept running around the area in the circle and ended up finding it (after 6 RL days) south of it.

What does it take to get Mary to spawn? Me and a BRD buddy went crazy in the Highlands last night. We killed 6 Tremor Rams, no sight of Mary.
He had to leave and i stuck around to see two other people kill a Tremor Ram each, and i wwent on to kill another. Anybody got any clue on Marys spawn time?

ummmm dude? Incase you couldn't tell from the pic, Stray Mary isn't a ram, just a normal sheep. So killing tremor rams would not affect her pop at all. You want to kill the sheep in that area, Mad Sheep i believe they are called. Mary should be a lottery off those sheep. I hope this helps.

I then spent four hours searching for her again and never saw her. Perhaps it was stolen while I wasn't looking, but I was spreading myself so widely that I could've easily missed her spawn altogether.
At any rate, I felt like an idiot running in a constant circle for five hours, and only claimed her once on a goof anyway.
I do not like camping Mary. Put me in a bad mood all evening.

I was just running around the area,farming elementals,when I saw Stray Mary on wide scan(from pretty far away).I figured someone else was bound to pick her up before I even got close,but took a shot.Needless to say she was sitting there unclaimed.A nice Barrage to her face got me the milk and horn.
I'm at a point where I really, really would like to have the horn. Not to sell, to own. I'm not trying to be greedy, just the best BRD I can be.
Everytime I go through Konchtat, I cursor over every sheep on the small chance that Mary has popped. Up until now, I haven't been sure whether I want to camp her or just buy the thing. In other words, I haven't made any serious attempts to camp Mary even though I deathly need that horn.
However, tonight I just happened to be wandering through on a level 10 job. And of course, the very first sheep I checked was Mary. First time I ever saw her, and I was on a damned lowbie job. Nothing I could do.
It was pure torture, and now I know what I must do. I must get revenge on Mary for taunting me. There's no way I'm going to buy the horn now. I must see revenge.

Was powerleveling a 9 DRG in the Highlands when she attacked Mary without realizing it was an NM. She stopped, I stepped in, killed it and got the Horn and the Milk.

I was out with my mithran THF in the Highlands just getting sheep skins, just attacking any sheep I found. Soon I saw a taru jump off a choco and yelling at me. I didn't know why until I noticed I had unknowiingly gotten Stray Mary ^^a. I didn't get the horn though.

I seen her spawn around G-9 when i was going after a Earth Elemental only got the milk though>.>
i was in highlands PL some lvl 10s when one of them pointed out mary and asked me to kill cuz they were afraid of it. SO i engaed an beat it down wiht my light staff ^^, did nt even use avatar, got the milk and horn so now im 1/1. now to sel the darn thing... none seems to want it.

Ok, I really hate this sheep now. I've tried camping it a few times, usually 1-3 hours at a time and untill yesterday, i had never found it. Well as I said i found it yesterday, killed it, milk dropped for quest (yay!) and nothing else. After doing nothing for 2 hours i decided i would try to get the horn. I went back to where it spawned b4 (G-9) and it was there again! I was surprised and i claimed it yet again. Well no horn dropped again so at 0/2 i was kinda annoyed.
I tried it again today, camped for 3 hours and finally found it up in the corner at (F-5). I killed it and again, NO HORN. Now i'm not gonna stop killing this thing till the horn drops, so if you see me on Alexander server in konschtat highlands, you can prob figure out what im doing. Happy Hunting you guys, hope the spawn points help, because all 3 times it spawned outside of the circle shown above on the map.

Well i know about most NM's, and mary is one of them. i have camped ruthless hrs with no pop.. until now. one day i decided to farm ram horns and lightning clusters. after killing around 12 rams and 2 rampaging rams (hmmm.. stil no mary lol) i decided to fix up my NM markers. , being an heavy nm I always liked to gaze at a creature with a mysterious long name and an overpriced item^^. so anyways im ajusting nm markers an checking widescan. i suddenly saw a mob with a short but interesting name.. mARY!!! i ran as fast as i could.. (without flee lol) to mary. as i approached i was annoyed to find the name in purple. but then i looked and a lvl 16whm was fighting lol. sooon after mary mauled him to death i claimed the *****. and to my surprise i got the horn^^ along with hole load of other crAP. very happy being 1/1 on mary^^ rate me up and happy hunting to everyone!

Succeeded in beating this NM the other day with a level 14 group consisting of the following:
Mithra Brd/Whm
Hume Nin/War
Galka Thf/War (ME)
Basically at the start of the fight I provoked it and let it beat on me for the duration of my two-hour. During that time the bard used her two-hour and sang both minuet and paeon. Afterwards the ninja and I just alternated hate and eventually ended up beating her for a relatively easy 200 points.
Both me and the ninja were down to about 100 hp in the end, with the bard drained of mp.
We obtained an earth crystal, marys milk, and selbina milk. No horn though /cry

Nearly beat this nm once more in a slightly underleveled incomplete group.
This time it consisted of the following members, all at level 12:
Galka War/-
Hume War/Mnk
Tarutaru Blm/Rdm
Galka Brd/Whm (ME)
Basically both the wars tried to bounce hate at the beginning as I busted my two-hour and began to sing valor minuet (+32 attack) and sword madrigal (+12-15ish accuracy). The galka war/- used mighty strikes, but unfortunately the hume war/mnk didnt have the ability's timer up. Mary proceeded to stick to the galka as he crit for upwards of 60-70 damage as the other warrior was constantly hitting for 30-40 (great axe warriors mind you). Everything was going well... for a while. As soon as Mary hit 50% life she lamb chopped the galka for around 80 damage and then followed up with another within a few seconds, killing him instantly. After he fell, the hume did soon after, with Mary left with a mere 5% life. The blm was out of mp/2 hours and I was left running for my life (hoping requiem would get her). She died with <30 hp left as a higher level rdm (55+) watched us die and then claimed her with dia.
Pathetic that a higher level would stoop to those levels for a chance to earn a measly 200k. Thanks a lot Briana on Fairy.

i have always encountered the rampaging ram from G-4, H-4, and H-5... once i found it at J-6

I was farming for Sheepskins for crafting today in Kons. highlands and i had logged out. About 2 hours later i came back and with widescan i found her. I fleed to her fought her. And got the horn and the milk, first time i have claimed her.

I was running around the highlands last night (Drk39/Rng20) attacking Lightning elementals and Rams when I stumbled across Stray Mary, needless to say a few hits later the kill and milk drop were mine. But I wasn't planning on farming Mary so I kept after the elementals.. neways 40mins later I was running through G-9 to get to an elemental and there she was again - so I wandered on over and whipped out Death Scythe and Steal and to my surprise she dropped the Horn and more of the milk.
I didn't even know what the darn thing was worth till I got back to Bastok - 140k - and it oly took an hour to sell.. ^^

lol your sub doesnt agree with your main...just stating
rng is the best sub for camping nm's what're you talking about?
maybe he was talking about the fact his jobs were 39/20... there's a basic math issue there somewhere

Well... when i farm i go as WHM44/RNG20 lol is there something wrong with that? i fam dhamels for hides and craft them into leathers cost per 12 leathers to make 5.5k sell for 16k 10500g profit ^^ and the hides drop alot but now i just sub BLM because i know where all the dhalmel spawn i use it i in konschat when i farm rams + elements i am 4/14 stray mary once got 2 horns one day 2 in AH same time ^^

Yeah I luckily stumbled onto Mary last night. She was at F-5/G-5 a little north of the spawn area on the map shown above. I was killing a thunder elemental then I saw a bee so I started to kill the bee because i needed one beehive chip for the stack and only had 1 free inventory space. So as I run over to the bee and am tabbing to it I think I see Mary's name pop up. So I go again and shes just kind of wandering over to me. Got the claim, dropped a tooth and the milk. It was very bizarre how I got to her though.
Oh at least I am the proud owner of the title "Mary's Guide". ^^

As a 48WHM/24BLM I spend lots of time in this area farming because I can teleport there, fill up my inventory, and warp back. No exceptional drops but plenty of elementals and a a chance at Stray Mary. So after I finally enable the RNG subjob and get widescan, I start heading out there without my beloved black magic and Warp ability, but I figure I will be MUCH more productive which will be a fair trade off, right? Well after a total of 7 or 8 hours in the Highlands, I have killed Rampaging Ram twice, 30+ Tremor Rams, 30+ elementals, and havent even seen Stray Mary on my widescan ONCE! I was starting to think she didnt exist!!! Until.... Last night!
I needed some sheepskin for Leathercraft, so I go back to the good ol BLM subjob and teleport myself out, I am making my way south, dead center of the area noted as the zone to find her in, and as I approach the 3rd sheep of the trip, IT'S STRAY MARY!!! I immediately start to panic (as a WHM with a Staff, SEEING a NM rarely means you will actually get it :) SO I fumble around trying to cast Dia and eventually egt it off, SHE's MINE!!! 4 or 5 hits later, she is dead, and SHE DROPPED MARY's HORN!!! This is only the 3rd or 4th NM I have actually killed, and the FIRST of those to drop! The only problem is....
I have heard/seen on my old server (Shiva), this is a 100k-ish item, now on the very new Remora server, the only auction history I have looked at is in Windy (no history) and Bastok (3 sales for only 10k!!!). Plus there is one for SALE in Bastok already! I am thinking I will just hold on to this puppy for a while as the economy on Remora is completely screwed up (I bought my Holy Breastplate for 48k on Shiva, sold it for 85k on Remora ><)
But I'm not gonna let it get me down, I GOT THE DROP! WOOHOO!
