a small note for all of you ambitious little people new to MMORPG's this is what as known as a SEVERE undercon and although he may be lvl 10-12 he will kick your butt unless you are smart. At lvl 12 mithra thief with the best gear money could buy, he tossed my ***. I barely got him to half health. Of the two notorious monsters in the sarutabarutas i would say this is the easier though.

I beat him as a level 11 or 12 white mage. I had to cast benediction at the end though because he cast poison on me and I didn't have enough mp to use poisona. He had about 50 hp left when I cast Benediction. I would say the fight lasted a good 4 minutes at least. He is definitely an annoyance. All I got for the victory was Saruta Cotton which sold for about 200 - 250 gil at the AH in Windurst :(.

This is true. I was level 27WHM/11BLM. I was casting BLM spells and I was doing 50's 60's damage on him, depending on the spell (Aero, Water, or Stone) His HP after all three was only about 1/5 if that. I didn't have a challenge defeating him, however, this little fellow has a lot of hit points. Be prepared for a long battle if you're a lower level (15'ish). A WHM wouldn't hurt, either.

He apparently spawns at random times in the area. I'm not sure what causes him to spawn or if there's a timer that he is on, or it's a triggered spawn.
