First off I was just wandering around La thiene when I scanned and saw this "Tumbling Truffel" When i thought to myself "eh worth a try" So i walked alll the way to that third gourge and walked down too the 2 caves and there he was.

Needless to say my treasure hunter musta kicked in cause After I killed em I got the hat and 2 sleepshrooms. How convienient.

*And no you cannot steal the hat.

How the hell do you get down into the canyon to kill this lil SOB?

Im a 33 PLD with my thf Subbed for TH and keep getting sleepshrooms. Does me being a higher lvl then the mob make it not drop? Ive killed it four times... =(

I have a great story...For all of you who get your NMs stolen by the Japanese players all the time when you want to *wear* the item and they want to sell it.
I randomly decided that since I was in La Theine at the moment, had my Selbina Clay, and that's where the monument is, I'd camp the NM too. It was there right when I got to the area and I killed it, no drop. (I was a 28MNK/14RDM at the time I believe). Easy kill. I decide to wait for a while...and my THF friend who's about level 30 is on, says she'll stop by to help later. I wait, la la la, friend shows up about an hour later. No Truffle yet. Soon after my friend shows up a Japanese THF/RNG shows up with a little 12WHM, no subjob, can't equip the hat, wants it now now now even so. Won't leave even though I'd already been there for two hours...So my THF friend camps the monument end of the spawn, I camp the other, in sight of the Japanese person and the WHM. Another hour goes by, and the NM spawns a few feet behind me. I run up and attack it, might have used Dia as first move, don't remember. Waha it's mine and it drops! The Japanese THF/RNG runs up like two seconds after I attack and says: ksjdnfksesdfekbsekf!!!!!!! (I assume it was Japanese cussing but I don't know Japanese so he might have been yelling congratulations...I doubt it.) The 12WHM does the /cry emote a lot...I equip the hat and run off. So I spent about 3 hours camping it, and got my hat. I use it on my RDM and on my DRK. I'm never going to sell it. I am a conehead and proud of it!!!
So for all you campers frustrated and thwarted by the Japanese, and the THF/RNG Japanese especially...There is hope. ^_^

I camped it for nearly 2 hours, got lucky on a pop and got the hat first try. I'm the prettiest blm in Valkurm!

he only spawns in the one canyon anywhere in that canyon. my friend and i hunted him kinda. He spawned twice for us. I'm a lvl 25 thief 6warrior and without a healer i was doomed to die thankfully my friend was a mage. Altho we killed him twice we had no drops. How rare is the drop?? I think he's on a timed spawn between 1 and 2 hours. But i could be wrong.

Im a lv 18bm/ lv 1wm, me and my freind went to the spot, he's like... lv 23mnk/war. We OWNED that truffel. It dropped a sleepshroom!!!! ><
So the we were like, ok lets wait for it to respawn, and we waited a full game day, so the spawn time is definately more than a game day for the truffle. He's a very very rare monster, and his area is a difficult one to walk to, ESPECIALLY if you are a lv14 trying to get the hat asap, because there are alot of bats close together that aggro. I would reccomend that a party of lv 15 mabey could take the truffle, i know that at lv 18, my bm spells did mininal damage so....*shrug*

I fought it before and it dropped a Sleepshroom. Just wanted to point out that correction.

u get in the canyon by entering the canyon by the lake then u follow the tunnels goin towards junger
