I soloed him and his buddy as lv 65 Samurai......but I had to use 2 hours, and survived with 83 hp left ><
No drop, but I got 12 exp and a lightning crystal from it hehe.

Was wandering aimlessly through Oldton and happened upon this dude standing right there with a Bugbear Bondman right beside him. The tunnel was facing had no mobs in it and as a matter of fact, was a zone. So I'm like, sure, let's try for the hell of it. I buff up, heal MP, and pull him. I knew his friend was going to link, so I just slept the regular Bugbear. The fight itself wasn't too bad except that he would counter so many of my attacks. ; ; And Stoneskin would fall not too long after I put it up. Regardless, he finally fell about 5 minutes later leaving me with 173 HP, 71 MP, 21 more exp, and 67 more gil. ; ;

58SAM (me) and 58DRG camped this for about 20 minutes, it popped, i used 2hour.
almost killed us both
we both had around 300 hp when battle was over, VERY hard NM i wouldnt recomend camping it solo till around level 62

Decided to go mining today when i got to oldton after doing a seach of the area i realized they're are only two people in here so i run over to this guys' spawn the one by Newton. All bugbears standing there so i start killing them off after about half an hour of kill them he spawn's and links with the one i'm fighting i switch to him right away and sleep the other bugbear. I then zone to newton and zone back to lose the hate of the first bugbear and go to work 59 rdm/blm no trouble at all. it was a long fight but i still had less then 100hp missing and down to about half mp dropped the sam pants too and gave me 23 xp^^
I have camped him 3 different times.
First time, he popped in just under an hour.
Which was cool, and he dropped the Aikido pants.
Second time he dropped nothing, and it took him a little over 2 hours to pop.
Third, just over an hour, Dropped Aikido pants.
62 Galka Monk. I can kill this guy without my 2 hour, but I know it will be close.
The moment I pull 'em, I hit Hundred fists.
I generally whoop on em and end up with about 800hp left.
I will admit, this guy is a tough bastige.
I like camping him though, and the music in Oldton doesn't bore you ^_^

3 Bugbear Bondsmen (BBB's for short) share the spawn pool between the 2 points at J11 & I11. They spawn on 14 minute intervals. You can spread them out so you constanly have something to do so yoou don't go insane to make camping him more tolerable. There are 3 BBB's that spawn @ I9 also but I do not think they are connected to Bugbear Strongmans spawn although I could be wrong. Maybe he has a huge spawn area. He can take many many hours to spawn. Me and my friend camped him today for roughly 12 hours and fought him 3 times. The first time it took 2 hours to pop him, the second time it took around 4 and the last time it took close to 6 hours to spawn him. What can I say, we where determined. He dropped nothing. No Bugbear Mask, no Aikido ******** no Shinimusha Haidate. Just gil. Without a set spawn time this NM is basically for people who want the item or people who are just dropping bye and happen to find him. If SE gave him a proper spawn time that was consistent and altered the drop rate to match the spawn time he could be a viable source of income, but until then I would stay away if you want to make money.
I camped this guy with 2 LS members yesterday, I was a 51 Brd/WHM, lvl 58 RDM/NIN, and lvl 65 PLD/WAR. We killed the Moblins and the regular Bugbears for about and hour and he popped right at the tunnel of J-11, where the entrance to Newton is. We whopped his butt, but we didn't get any drops. :_: This guy is also a Lottery pop btw

fought him at I-11 right outside of the cave though i suppose he could spawn by the newton entrance too.... fought him with some level 35 friends lol i was 58 he was still really easy. id say 55 is WRONG lol probably 48-52?

Leveling with 5/6ths of our static in Newton, just having a good time when someone zoned in and told us there was an NM in the previous room in Oldton.
Ran in, MP'd up, and went to town. This Strongman is only slightly harder than the Bondmen placeholders around, and the fight wasn't tough at all. I didn't even need to cast any cures, our WHM had well over 400MP when the battle was over.
We didn't get the ******* drop, but it's nice to own a new NM everyonce and again.
I would say the level estimate of 55 given here is a bit high, we are all level 60 and got 6exp from the battle..So it is likely closer to lvl50.

Drops Shinimush Haidate & Aikido ******** The NM itself is around level 55 I believe.
Is it me or does it seem weird this is in the Orc family? Oh well if I may be just seeing things lol.

Believe its just a Bugbear family, not Orc
I saw this the first time I was exploring the area. Did a check on him and came up <I Impossiable to Gauge I>. Did a shout about it and its <pos> and then saw a crud load of high lvls running towards its area.

It dropped 2 Lightning Crystals for me. Fought it with a 58RDM, 50RDM, and a 39WHM, wasn't too hard a fight. Spawns just outside the short tunnel at I-11, not J-11

My friend killed this has a 56 pld, he used his 2hour and had 100hp when it died, he got the drop but he said it was samurai legs with store tp +6.
