Goblin Leecher Picture

These Goblin doctors use blood sucking leeches as a remedy. The benefits are widely accepted, and some Leechers even secretly treat human patients.

This Gob can't drop scroll of Warp...
# Apr 21 2006 at 11:15 AM Rating: Decent
this Gob can't drop the scroll of Warp.

I guess it's because the job of Goblin Leecher is WHM, and this Gob only can drop WHM scrolls.

Note: Warp is a spell for BLM

Although I havn't admittedly come across any goblin classes that seem tougher, I don't find them that tough. I can still Solo Even Match leechers as a 48RDM/NIN without much difficulty (But hey, with that combo I can solo EM elements too lol)... It's a fairly long battle though, and with silence, I guess its a lot easier.

Although I have also never had a warp scroll drop, I heard they do in one particular area, Dangruf Wadi.
Apparently, you need to go where all the tougher mobs are, deep inside wadi (Up the 2nd geyser), to get to the mobs. Fact or Fiction, who knows. I havn't ever had a reason to farm there.
loves leecher

I'd be inclined to say that whomever suggested that Leechers drop Warp was mistaken. As far as I can tell, mobs only drop scrolls for spells of a class they're capable of using. For example, you can only get Sneak/Protectra/Barstonra from WHM-type mobs. You can get Bind and Blind from BLM-type mobs. You get Bard songs from BRD types like Yagudo Piper/Drummer.

If indeed you can get Warp from Goblins like this, I'd be willing to bet that it comes from Gamblers, not Leechers.
sorry

Hmmm how about you go to ifrit cauldron and take on goblin mercenary and stuff like that lol. Those are just a bit tougher.
Silencing these mobs is essential
# May 07 2004 at 3:05 PM Rating: Excellent
When fighting gobs of any kind, blind is great as it can give you a slight protection against the bomb...

But when fighting Leechers, start the fight with silence. They don't really have many damaging attacks when silenced... so the whm/or whoever, is well advised to continue trying to silence until it takes hold.

Leechers also have a tendency to cast aquaviel, protect and blink on themselves when they aren't fighting... which is also somewhat annoying. Spell interruption is not a particularly successful strategy against them.

Difficult enemy

I fight this gob yesterday our party need around 10 minutes to kill it. I cast cure III 3 times to himself. We almost died, and suddenly there was this nice WHM helping curing our WAR. This enemy simply crazy, it heal itself. My fire and aero does nothing to it.

Can anyone tell me in which area the goblin leechers drop linen slops? I'm trying to get one for my blm.

By the time you are able to take on a Leech by yourself, you'll be at a level where you won't need linen slops. I suggest you buy them

Scroll of Sneak
# Mar 15 2004 at 12:19 PM Rating: Decent
I was fighting in Junger Forrest the other day and had one drop a Scroll of Sneak. I was in a two-person party and the other character was also mine (on 2 computers, 2 accounts). When I got back to town later and checked my inventory I found that neither of my characters got the scroll. I was so pissed. I checked my dialague history and found the point where it dropped but it never actually went into my inventory and it never said anything about not being eligible to recieve this item (due to inventory space available and whatnot). I had several inventory spaces available on both of my characters. Does anyone know why this might have happened?

# Apr 18 2004 at 10:23 PM Rating: Decent
Hey there! Once mobs are defeated the newly aquired items go to the "treasure" area of a party. If the party zones before the timer allocates the items to individual players - The items will be lost to the void.
My condolences on your lose. >=[

The only thing I have stolen from goblins are beast coins/silver beast coins, the same goes for the Yagudo... I'm pretty sure this is all you can steal from them =( Not too sure about stealing from orks yet...

These are NOT the hardest type of goblins to fight and certainly not the easiest either. Cast silence on it, and it's toast. If you guys think these are hard, you should go to battalia and look at the next tier of goblins, they are tougher and a lot stronger. Theres also another tier above that, but I have yet to run into them.

They use magic VERY intelligently. If you turn and run, they will bind. If you cast paralyze on them, they will immediately cast paralyzena on themselves. They can cast drain that i've seen hit as hard as 70hp, and CureIII for 130+

Be ready for anything, easy prey isn't.
RE: leech
# Jan 15 2004 at 3:30 PM Rating: Decent
i thought drain was a black magic skill? Doesnt quite fit with it being a whm.
RE: leech
# Dec 10 2003 at 4:52 PM Rating: Good
The hardest type atleast. The mage gobs cast wicked spells. including Diaga and depending on lvl I hjave seen them cast Cure II and III on themselves.
