Historical Information

In Hindu mythology, Vrtra (Vritra, "The Devourer") was an Asura and was described as being a gigantic serpent or dragon with three heads. Initially said to hold all the world's rivers captive until its death at the hands of the god Indra, later tellings of Vrtra suggested that he was created by the heavenly builder Tvashtri to slay Indra, who had earlier slew Tvashtri's son.

After engaging in a battle in which Vrtra claimed victory (he had swallowed Indra, only to be forced by the other Devas to regurgitate him), the two struck a truce that Indra would not attack Vrtra with anything made of wood, stone, or metal, dry or wet, or during the day or night. Indra instead used foam from ocean waves (neither dry nor wet, and not made of wood, stone, or metal) and killed Vrtra at twilight (neither night nor day).

Hornswoggle waves to Vrtra.

Vrtra starts casting Dispelga II on Hornswoggle.

Hornswoggle uses Flee!

Vrtra hits Hornswoggle for 675 points of damage.

Hornswoggle was defeated by Vrtra.

Learned my lesson after 2 Screenshots XD

I went up to it as a 56pld/28war....I attacked it for 0 damage, and it cast dispelga. Then it hit me for 307 damage (I actually blocked this with my shield o.O) with an added effect of 171. I double attacked and hit it twice more for 0 damage, and he hit me for 608 damage and killed me. ; ;

But I won 2000g lol. He bet I would die in one hit. >.>

I also seen someone type that a war/whm was just as good as a pld. WOW, im at 72pld i think iwould know. The war/whm dosent get the hp, and vitality bonus as the pld/war. And everyone knows that hp vit, and MP is the plds best attributes. Although you dont get the mp bboost as much as war/whm you still have the VIT and hp witch very well makes up for the mp, hell im a Elevan Pld, trust me i know what its like to have a low mp ^^
he cant

how can u be lvl 76 pld?
#REDACTED, Posted: Apr 10 2005 at 5:22 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) King Ranperre or better know as the dragonslayer made a deal with Vrdra to protected his tomb when he dies. so vrdra is the to protect it. if you get in to contact with vrdra it will attack you to protect the tomb so now you know why vrdra is in king Ranperres tomb.

Yeah, I hear Vrdra is almost as hard as Vrtra. I bet a 76 pld could tank him no problem, though.

I went a wandering to hit vrtra as i was bored and naturally boredom in ffxi means either noob baiting, gilseller training or mad runs through high level areas.
The honour fell to my RDM as i was in an idc mood and wasnt botherered by exp loss.
After a lot of sneaking about i entered the room and saw the big fat mutha. I ran like mad toward it and a few cadavers took after me.
I got what i set out to do though, i slapped it and gave it a jab with my sword and a spell before crumpling in a heap.

Hit it for 0 no surprise and dia stuck like a teflon pillow, but i didnt get killed by Vrtra haha!
The undead did that lol

Another little adventure in the life of a bored hume. :p

And OMFG i tried to post this and got directed here:

OMG now here:

SERIOUSLY wtf is up with posting here?
