Evasion on this mob
# Jul 14 2008 at 6:29 AM Rating: Decent
I decided I needed a pair of these for my mithra's drk so I jumped on my 75 smn and headed on down to bibi bay. Some drk I saw in aht urghan told me I would have no problem as a 75 smn. He lied...
I got there and tried to carby fight the first one to see just how much damage it would take. I got owned! So I reraise and this time I try Garuda. Garuda missed every swing she took at it. The only hits Garuda got in were predator claws which landed for a decent 1k+ damage. Not enough though. It blew itself up with a bomb. Later I take my Friend who is Pld and he had trouble hitting the mob. I laughed so hard I cried because it looked so funny him swinging and missing every swing. We didnt get the tank but im not done. I will not stop Until I have those boots because im not paying 450k just for drk jse boots that im only going to macro in for ws.

These are really rough for BST to solo. I went through at least 3 Sic calls (6 minutes) and 2 Dia II spells. I have pretty high accuracy and I hit for a fair amount consistently, but this guy takes too long to take down.

These remind me of the Goblin Bandits in Cape Terrigan. No fun!

Yes I've tried to solo these as BST as well. The problem is not me hitting them with my TP gear and Tuna Sushi, the problem is my pet hitting them often enough to hold hate. So when I do solo these guys I usually just straight pet fight and pray for a suicide :P

Joined a PT with a MNK PLD WAR WHM BLM BRD(ME). The war was pulling Dhamels with ninja spells, then there was this gobby always in his way. So next pull he brings this goblin. I had March and minuet (atk + haste) as a normal song but I saw miss miss miss miss... Quickly did a madrigal x2 (1madrigal was like 50/50) afterwards no one missed him then... quickly fell.

Here's a little story for yas.
PT setup: THF64, RDM63, WHM64, WAR63, NIN63, MNK62
We were EXPing in Bibiki Bay when our puller decided to grab us a Hobgoblin Blagger... BAD IDEA. This guy took us a looooong time to beat. He dodges just about everything. MNK and THF used 2hr but THF 2hr didn't help us much and the MNK was missing like there was no tomorrow. This guy was kinda nuts and kept attacking me (WHM) from the very beggining. Anyways, RDM converted about half way through the fight and healed while I rested. When it was down to just a sliver of HP it started attacking the RDM and kiled her while I was still resting. ; ; So I got up and started healing again, and shortly after it died. All in all it was one of the hardest battles I've ever fought and it was a lot of fun, but our party's going to be avoiding these from now on. ^.~

*Edit: I got 280 EXP from this battle, no chain.

So I was bored tonight, and I decided to go explore Bibiki Bay, since it was one of the CoP areas I never made it to.

Everything was fine at first, with all f the mobs being too weak, until I run around a corner and see one of my LS mates in an exp party. I am thinking to myself "hmmmm, this is going to be fun by the time I leave..."

I spent a good 30 minutes just sitting there, with nothing else to do, until they pull one of these mobs. Everyone in his party had trouble hitting this thing.

Eventually they call for help, and me being the adventerous type decide to chip in. If I was able to hit the hobgob, I was hitting for 0. My Sneak Attack would do about 100 points of damage. At some point in this mess, I managed to get a SaTa+DE planted on me, and I became the unwilling tank.

With my evasion at 133, I was able to avoid enough hits to keep my shadows up.

Everything would have worked out fine, but other hobgobs started to repop, and there was a clusterF.

It seems to me that the ACC of this mob is rather low, but the evasion (like it has been said) is through the roof. Be really careful with these.

Funny, I don't see where he said there was a 53 THF doing that...? And to my knowledge, people exp'ing in Bibiki are 65+ish? And if you're talking about HIM using DE, he said another THF used it, AND who knows if he was actually 53 at the time... my 2 cents...

That's funny, because with 190 evasion, they hit me nearly 100%.

um. . .i remember there was a change to the mobs in zone concerning their lvl, unfortunately i can't recall when or to what extend. As of now the (lvl77+) Blagger would rip ANY lvl53 to shreds in seconds. . . but anyway, he say his sneak attack does 100dmg. . .just the thf gobs have rather crappy def <.< so either he totally fails/failed as THF or at telling the truth >.>

They also do Triple Attack. More dangerous than the DRK gob when doing manaburner PT.

These are THF and have High Evasion and are a pain to kill for even 70+ party. Most of the time they would blow themselves up with bomb toss before we could kill em.
