Transmorgification is a real fun ability.
You really hafta look out for it during your fights, don't wanna heal the mob.
The Bard that recorded his battle with these guys would watch closely and yell out TRANSMORGIFICATION and all the melees would stop attacking and just kinda kite them.

Oh yea... they also have two special abilities which they use quite frequently...
Transmorgification - Melee/Physical Damage is converted into HP (heals the mob)
Magic Wall - Magic Damage is converted into HP (heals the mob)
The mobs will use either of these abilities at random, so when you fight them be sure to keep an eye out for which one they are using. The effect of the ability lasts for about 20 seconds.

In addition to Dark Crystals, they also drop Yellow Liquid. Before the latest patch, you could use this liquid to lock down the targetted Epsilon's job (which prevents it from changing jobs). However... that was removed in the last patch. Now when you use a Yellow Liquid on one of them, it acts as an extra Provoke.
You fight three of these at the same time in CoP Mission 2-5 in a lvl 40 cap BCNM encounter (Riverne Site A-01). They may look kewl... but they are wicked. They have the ability to change jobs at will. When they change jobs, the weapon they are carrying will change.
Example: BLM job will wield a staff. WAR job will wield an axe.

WOW. what is this thing? Looks like a way cool sam. What armor is that?
The only other place I've seen that armor is on elvan NPC's around the Duke's Pallace in Jeuno, I don't think it can be work by players.
