Ran across one while collecting Necklaces in Giddeus and was surpised when the elemental died along with him, even though I never hit it once. Maybe this was part of the update, not sure.

I don't know if this rule applies to all monsters with summoning capabilities.

Exact same thing's been happening to me. There goes my fun of aquiring a small army of following elementals... I've managed 9 following me before, which helped my TP build up a lot faster each time they hit me for 1-2 damage. Guess it's more accurate this way, as once you're killed as a summoner, you can be sure your own summon won't stick around for revenge.

My favorite way of fighting these is to be a summoner myself. I send carbuncle to fight the elemental while I hold off the bird for a bit. Once Carbuncle finishes off the elemental, it's the usual summoner/pet doubleteam. It's a good thing mosnters don't get subjobs, or they might be more difficult.
Elementals ^^

I foudn this out having fun in gideus.

If you kill the mendicant in ONE hit, then the yogudo DOES NOT aggro. If the yogudo does not aggro, then the elemental will not attack you.

also it will die in 3-9 seconds.

Thank you SA

I think its best to sneak up and kill the elementals first, if the yag can't see you he won't aggro you

You commonly see these roaming around Tahrongi Canyon with their elemental pets. They are easier than Yagudo Persecutors of the same level. Ignore the elemental pet until the Mendicant is dead, as the pet does not do much damage.
