Just got educated by five of these in quifm. Was fighting and giant and it took longer than I thought. One appeared beside me while I was fighting. I was in the yellow. Instant aggro. I ran but just got the attention of more. No amount of dancing could have saved my ***.

You're all probably gonna think I'm stupid here, but has anyone else seen one of these guys in Valkrum Dunes? I was on a choco to Sandy and in the tunnel I ran past a guy being chased by a Skelleton, but it wasn't a Ghoul!

I admit I only saw it for a few seconds, but I swear the name read "Whight"!!!

Anyone able to shed some light on this subject? Is there any possible way I could be right? I'm absolutely convinced of what I saw!

As a 40 WHM I confidently ran through the Maze of Shakhrami helping a friend with her RSE, with everything checking too weak to me — including the Wights.

Some spawn significantly higher, however, and suddenly one jumped me. I was winning when my HP hit the yellow. Instatly another four ran in from somewhere out of my range of vision and I was eating dirt.

These guys have an absolutely huge aggro radius if your HP hits the yellow. Be warned.

Wight in the Ruins

I helped a couple parties complete the Windy 3-2 3 mages mission, more or less as a key, not involved in fighting. I believe we ran across a bunch of wights on this mission in the ruins. Lucky for me, we had 2 lvl 50's to take these on, so I can just stand and watch.

Onidori.

I believe you are referring to Wendigos, though they do look very similar.
Wights are tough but.....

These things are for sure strong and can hand most soloers thier respective butts. However a few things to know. 1, cure II works very well against them like 70 points of damage. Also yes do not run, they will chase you down. 2, bind also works really well on them. 3, if your not a mage of some kind or at least level 32-33 i would not wonder through Quifim alone.
I hate these

These things suck really bad for anyone entering Qufim without first anylizing their situation first.... believe me, its really benificial to stay away from these Mobs at all costs. (Unless you're like strong enough to school them or something) I would stay away from these.I would stay away from these.
beware!!!

those things can smell fear or something, I was in quifim and 1 of them ran across a field to kill me while I was no where close to it to begin with

In my experience these things will aggro from a mile away if they detect you have low HP (they detect blood maybe? :P )
